As in other CRPGs, the most difficult battles are the first ones. Your characters are frail, have very few options, you can't protect yourself from everything.... I started to take off during Troll Trouble.. the moment you get Ekundayo in fact, because playing as a tank with MC, had only amiri to make decent damage so far.
Well also ekun with devourer of metal is just stupid good. Use hurricane bow/enlarge person/rapid shot (+ manyshot at level 6) and since trolls have ~0 AC you hit every shot anyway. 6d6 x3 or x4 damage per round by level 6. That's comparable to firing a disintegrate spell every round.
I always spec Amiri into Sacred Hunter (Inquisitor). This gives her some useful spells and an animal companion. Also you may consider dropping 3 levels in two handed fighter for a big bonus on two handed weapons. Her AC is horrible but with some buffs and extended displacement she's pretty good. A shame her weapon of choice ( the oversized bastard sword) is pretty bad in this game. Swap for a greataxe whenever you can. Nok Nok is my goat tho. Give that little devil displacement and greater invisibility and watch as he shredders and entire crowd.
@@eduardo7677 nok nok is insane, you only need to further his experience in dual wield and kukris to make him op. But you get him fairly late in the game, so you don't really "need" him at that time to stay alive (contrary to amiri). Nevertheless he is probably my favorite companion in the game.
Rogue dex tank slayer hybrid with monk/vivisectionist dip. Use Weapon Finesse and Finesse Training, and you can have a good frontliner that does ridiculous, consistent sneak damage. Especially if you dual wield, less tank more spank, and Monk's AC bonus from wisdom lets you rack up AC while also boosting will save. Pretty fun, and can be thematic for a smart but still lawful MC.
Ekundayo changed everything in my run. Besides being super strong and give a lot of good dps to the party, his dog aways gave me critical turns to turn the fight to my favor just receveing all the first damage at the front line lmao
I swear, either there's a different track with the same melody that I'm thinking of, or the mix on the sound files in the game are way different. I remember the bagpipe melody during the second half of this track absolutely *wailing*, while this is pretty quiet under the chords and brass
The stag lord theme is an iteration of the recurrent boss themes of the games, look up for other arc bosses (Hargulka/Tartuk, Vordakai, Armag, etc...) and you'll find it.
Was a full rogue with my pc. Got steamrolled the first couple of times. Eventually got a rhythm down. Jaethal casts invisibility on both me and Linzi. We sneak around to the stag lord, then Amiri, Jaethal, Harrim, Octavia and the caged owlbear start the fight. Linzi stunlocks the stag lord while I beat him to death with hammers.
Jaethal on cleric, Amiri uninstalls Stag Lord's face, my Kinetic Knight foxfires invisible rapier guy and wrecks him, Linzie stunlocks hammer dude, Valerie tanks the rest and Octavia just stands there looking pretty.
The first time I fought him I had so much trouble I quit the game for a bit. This time I had my entire team stealth behind him and fight only him while the owlbear took out his lackeys. I felt very clever but it does take out all the tension from the fight.
@@Veylon Yea, Grease and Protection from arrows during this fight is a MUST, unless you stealth the encounter. Stealthing the encounter makes it really easy, but it is fun to do. But without Protection from arrows The stag lord will turn the entire party into pin cushions.

It could be but to me "Capital under attack" is the actual boss theme of the baron(ess), against the Stag Lord you're not quite there yet. Of course with optimized builds any epic sounding music is going to feel like your boss theme, ha, ha.

The fight is actually a lot easier if you have those rogue bandits on your side and if you released that owlbear and made him fight for you.

it's kinda hard to shoot a bow when there is Amiri right in your intimate zone shouting "BLOOD FOR GORUM".
