Georgia Tech Football is TERRIBLE…And They’re Not Getting Better

  • Georgia Tech is down bad. The Yellow Jackets have posted three straight 3-9 seasons and things do not seem to be getting any better under Geoff Collins. Georgia Tech loses two of their top rushers from last season, has a depleted offensive line, and QB Jeff Sims, while athletic has struggled with accuracy and injuries. The defense has been absolutely abysmal the last three years and now have a depleted secondary which will not bode well against some of the better QBs within the conference. A season opener against Clemson and a finale against Georgia complete the bookends of what will be a very difficult season that also includes games against Ole Miss and UCF. The Yellow Jackets would be considered lucky to go above last year's win total, and because of that, this should mark Collins' last year in Atlanta.

    What floors me is that DC Thacker drove the defense that ranked in the 50's to 117th -- and the SOB still has a job thanks to low IQ Collins -- I expect that Collins contract won't be renewed after the 4th or 5th game when Tech goes 1&3 or 1&4.

    2-10 sounds right for Georgia Tech, though it's possible that they could serve as a trap game for Virginia.

    High: 4-8
    Low: 1-11
    Prediction: Georgia Tech has another terrible year, and gets wins on only Western Carolina, Duke, and Miami (big upset for the Yellow Jackets) to to finish 3-9.

    2-10 floor & 4-8 ceiling -- don't see how we can't get better -- I thought Arkansas was garbage going 2-10 back-to-back for the 1st time in history, but Tech managed to out do them.

  • @cb750k1974
    @cb750k1974 Před 2 lety +1

    Eliminate the penalties, mental errors and stay healthy, GT wins a bunch of games. The coaching overhauls just may make them a winner. If the OL & DL trenches can play well, GT will win games. Of course nobody is looking for any of this......the O line is supposed to be better, with more depth, Clemson game will tell a lot. My crystal ball says that Jeff Sims will get hurt, miss a few or more games so we better have some capable back-ups.......I mean, look at all the playing time Yates had last year.

  • @asalvato1004
    @asalvato1004 Před 2 lety +3

    I think they’ll go 3-9 for their fourth straight three-win season. Beat Western Carolina and Duke and win one upset game. Geoff Collins needs to go, was never a fan of the hire to begin with.

    I'm just here to play Devil's advocate.
    Realistically, there are 8 winnable games on the slate, winnable under very strict conditions.
    Those games are WCU, UCF, Pitt, Duke, UVA, FSU, VT, and UNC.
    Tech COULD win those given the defense steps up in all areas and performs middle of the road, the offensive line performs above average, and Sims takes the leap and becomes one of the best QBs in the ACC. Yes, that's a lot to have to just go Tech's way for no good reason other than sheer luck.
    UCF is missing a lot of the keys to its passing attack, which is the only reason they've been particularly great in the past. Gus Malzahn isn't a great coach, but he's not bad either. He's lost some games due to his own coaching.
    Pitt is relying solely on an offensive line. New QB, new WRs, a lot of unknowns for them. Their defense will be one of the better ones in the ACC, but nothing compared to Clemson.
    Duke is, well Duke. They suck, but for whatever reason they have always given Tech a run for their money.
    UVA and VT are both on a hard reset. Both O-lines will likely look like swiss cheese at best with decent defenses and that's about it. New coaching staff, lack of returning talent, etc.
    FSU has absurd levels of talent, but they just haven't been able to put it all together quite yet. For whatever reason, whether it's poor coaching, bad players, or bad scheme, it just isn't working for Norvell and co.
    Finally UNC, who doesn't know who their starting QB is yet. Has one of the worst offensive lines in the ACC and has a mediocre defense. The only thing they have that's strong is their receiving corps, but who knows how they'll do without Sam Howell.
    So yeah, could Tech go 8-4? Sure. Could they just as likely go 1-11? Yep.
    My bad news is that I don't think Collins will be out if Tech goes 4-8 or 5-7 depending on the quality of the wins and losses. If Tech plays quality games all year long and there are signs of major progress against a brutal schedule, it's unlikely Collins will be fired.

    2-10 same predictions. I think this team is more of a 3-9 or 4-8 type team but this schedule is brutal

  • @johnburns6761

    I believe we have more talent this year, and a much better staff.
    Florida State is the only ACC team to do better than the Jackets in the transfer portal.

    Another brutal year coming for Georgia Tech this season... I will get to the chase they will be 2-10 this season... enough said... Losses: Clemson, UCF, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Miami, North Carolina and Georgia

    @drivenrc Před 2 lety +1

    0-12 is what they go this season 😂

  • @bill4536
    @bill4536 Před 2 lety

    GT normally wins a game they are not supposed to and loses a game they are not supposed to. 3-9 is unlikely to do 4 years in a row, but I would say that's a safe bet for them. If they don't win at least 5 games which is looking unlikely they will dump Collins and move on.

    I have now watched 4 of your videos and you do the same thing every time...You basically state that no matter which team it is they will just basically be the same team as last year... you usually only add or subtract one win from each year to year... Expert? You just rehash the team last years statistics.. How do you account for the teams that underperform by 3 or 4 wins and the teams that win 3 or 4 more wins then they are supposed to .......you dont!!! Why watch your videos. ?? you predetermine the teams wins and just justify it going backwards..what a waste of my time watching you...!!!Where is the EXPERT here???!!!

      The Expert comes from the fact that our predictions (both straight up and against the spread) have been better and more accurate than 80% of the National analysts for each of the last 5 years. We don’t base everything solely based off the year prior but it does play a bit of a factor. We do look at all aspects though. Have had the same method every year and every year our winning percentage increases
