Unknown Mortal Orchestra | Full Set | Pitchfork Music Festival Paris 2015 | PitchforkTV - Hudba
Ruban is such a great guitar player, so underrated... he developed his own playing style, his tone is very rich sounding, he uses unique guitars... and the solos and tricks he can pull on his live performances really makes them unique.
Totally agree: the way he hangs his guitar, the tunning of his guitar, the fact that he doesn't use guitar picks, he really has a unique style
He knows some interesting chord progressions
@@robertdayer well he is very inspired by hendrix

Just wow!
This band is constantly leveling up.
my thought exactly. Their old songs have so much more depth than it use to. Love the way they've grown as a band.
YES
This is very very true.
and they keep leveling up
Saw them the other day. Even more leveled up
The drummer plays perfectly! Excellent tuning and and set sound. It fits so well with the rest of the band
+Lando Cartel Do you know who he is?
Do I know his name? Have I met him? No. Evidently Riley Geare, but that doesn't help me know him any better
Alexandre Rizk You're right. That was harsh, sorry...
i like the bells on the sticks, never seen that before
It's an old school technique (I'm a drummer of 18 years). They were fun to watch live. I got the chance to meet them all and sit down for a beer and brief chat!
the way he hangs his guitar strap made me so anxious
I feel anxious about this kind of thing for people on stage so often it's unreal.
I really LOVE how he synchronizes his singing with his guitar playing!
I like how this band has evolved their live performances. Awesome.
thank you, pitchfork.
There's something haunting, cryptic and magical about these guys and I Love them to Death.
It’s strange music, very different but in a great way
There's something unknown, mortal and orchestral about these guys.
This cracked me up
@@brianbenesch6375 Thank you!😎
They may be my favorite live band and music videos of the year
these guys are by far my favorite band they are absolutely brilliant
Probably the best band name I've seen thus far
+OH NO Ca Ca Ca Ca Captain Murphy
+Brandon Kocher bahahahaaa
These guys get it B-)
You should check out a band called yellow magic orchestra you dig this one.
ever heard of King gizzard and the lizard wizard?
Love this set... have watched it multiple times over the years and it holds up
so good...sitting here watching for the 100th time in the last 6 years 😂
If you like listening to UMO you might like a band called The Doublejumps
wow... What a great sound here. So groovy
The keys are such an enrichment to this already awesome band. And I think their live-sound far surpasses their recordings.
Spot on dude. I really hope they keep Quincey as a full-time band member.
He is now playing with Jack White
Im with you on thay, i can only listen to can't keep checking my phone in their live sets
I'm obsessed with Reuben's guitar tone man. So fucking psychedelic and epic.
Who ever mixes these.... Thank you
Ben Rothschild I was thinking the same thing!! So cleaaaaan
This just made my day...Just amazing. Keyboards makes the whole thing sound even better.
Thank you INTERNET MACHINE!!!! Loved every second
I'm soooo excited to see them live tomorrow in Lima, Peru! And for free too! I can't literally wait!
Fue increíble, aguante #RubberTracks
I close my eyes, imagine I'm there, and tears flow under my eyes. God how I miss live concerts!
"Lovin me could be your fetal flaw"

What a great sounding mix
Performance, sound, and video of this are spot on!
I’m going to see them next Friday I’m so excited yayyy
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS
...and some Lower Dens to start off with - excellent!
When they jam...they JAM! Has a hue of Prince in their style I would say a touch of Stevie on the voice.
killer live sound!!
i love the keys addition to ffunny ffreinds. really gives it more body
that from the sun outro needs to be 5 min longer too good
Oh my god, I never I'd see someone covering homeshake. This band has such a legacy in Austin and I'm seeing them tomorrow.
Whend they cover shake in this?
Never heard of this guys before but I hav a mighty respect for Pitchfork, at least things they did in the past. Such a transporting experience, especially in the times of lockdowns everywhere. Haven't been to a live show for almost 6 months now, usually seeing at least couple of live shows a week, something academic/church organ stuff, and something"underground", rock, jazz... This was amazing.. I've BEEN THERE,in Paris, I FELT that!!!! Thanks everybody!!!!
Fantastic atmosphere and performance
If you like listening to UMO you might like a band called The Doublejumps
so perfect. i wish they played swim and sleep though.
Need to see them live
Beautiful venue, beautiful band. Soft as velvet.
Saw the middle 8 vid on this group and i had to check them out.
man that sitar sounds so cool
Oh my days, those keys are heavenly
This is awesome!
Discover them by surfing on the Tube. amazing and very creative band Love the way the guitar player is creating textures and he sings so soulfully !

koykah your profile picture makes that comment perfect 😂😂😂
love it woooo
cok sangar
Fuck I love them so fucking much ahshdhdhhshshshs
just saw them as tame impala's opener. They nearley outplayed tame impala, but kevin was hung over as shit too soo..
i was there too and i completely have to agree with you. UMO's performance was absolutely solid... I wouldn't even consider them openers... It was strictly a UMO/TAME IMPALA show.
Sounds about right for Kevin Parker.
what show was that?
I'm assuming the concert at Greek Theatre in Berkeley on 9/3? or maybe 9/4? I went to the earlier one so i'm assuming he wasn't as hungover. Nonetheless, UMO was spectacular!!
You’re a very lucky person my friend
esta musica es tan buena que por eso tiene jazz!! lpm increible.
I can't stop listening to UMO lately. Awesome band. Awesome performance. He must be hot as sht in that jacket on stage...
15:00 inca roads from zappa (fckn awesome)
This version of ur life one night is so different and amazing
First time I have to hear them live I know I waited a long time to enjoy this band
Yeah this needs to be released in blue ray or vinyl please!
Ouço este show quase toda semana enquanto trabalho. 🇧🇷
That was fucking intense! Love this band
When these guys come to El Paso it's gonna be lit
+Jacob Salgado YES INDEED
IT WAS LIT
It was amazing! When they played FFunny FFriends, the whole crowd and everyone in the venue was singing along while the keyboardist jammed out. Never had such a great concert experience since
seeing them perform Ffunny Ffriends really hit me. Really a pleasure to listen to them perform their earliest album.
Un funk psyché sublime
My god, Tao, or/and spaghettimonster, this is amazing...
This is amazing thank you for posting! I wish I could have been there car cet évent était en Paris ;-;
These ad placements are absolutely criminal

Me fascina esta banda 😍
Uh...the Best.
13:26 what's that like horn noise? It sounds incredible
ColRizz99 probably a preset of the keys man, some kind of synth sound
he sounds so much better live, recordings can't capture it
Does anyone know the set list for this?
9:45 wonder if that’s supposed to be an ode to summer madness?
48:27 uma pessoa grita CA RA LHO
HAHAHA, será?
The shows light programming is baller as hell
woa
Best version of UMO in my opinion.
Please tell me what song is playing when they walk out on stage!
Lower Dens - To Die in L.A.
Either that or Darude - Sandstorm
+Tyler McNally Exactly-thanks!
@@tylermcnally9931 legend, been searching for ages! Thanks!
43:50 oh my
new zealand ♡
00:00 song?
Can someone tell me what effect he runs his vocals through
from what i understand (emphasis on under) he is constantly building new knick-knacks to alter the sound to his liking, i'd imagine many have no name or previous use
+okay2122007 interesting. Thanks
i know that reverb did a soundcheck where they address that. if you search "umo reverb" im sure youll find it
+christopantz thanks
