If you hadnt noticed, the cover art ironically copy the Bible's nativity scene, but with the twist of death representing mary, and the pigs representing the wise men bearing gifts of humanity(greedy pigs in suits, destruction, chaos, fire etc). its pretty awesome

I saw Arch Enemy at Nightwish Wembley last week.
Alissa literally explodes onto the stage, I was utterly transfixed.
She is so amazingly sexy and suits the band perfectly.
I've not listened to a single Nightwish song since I came back, but can't stop listening to Arch Enemy.

I enjoyed reading your comment. Welcome to powerful metal performed by humble classy and talented musicians. Alissa is really the icing on the cake. When I hear AE it gives me that bit of extra power to train harder and succeed. Love it. Make sure to check out the "As the STAGES burn" dvd/bd. It's a freaking one in a lifetime masterpiece.

For people giving Alissa shite, I saw them live recently, and she is just as vicious and energetic as Angela was/is. She won over everyone, even the skeptics in the audience. I don't care for her previous band of course, but Alissa ain't no slacker. People here in (Northern) Europe and other parts of the world are catching onto this fact.
Excellent band, excellent music, hot vocalist, amazing art work. This album already has it all.

The lyrics of War Eternal are amazing...I connected them to the Arab Spring, but maybe that is just me.
The Arabian Spring came up because people tried to win their eternal war, so it does make sense. Fighting for yourself and your freedom is not exactly an unexpected topic when listening to Arch Enemy though ;)

Sanders..try not to be an idiot. People who make music love how people view their stuff differently.I am a metal guitarist songwriter. I've heard someone say crazy things like it reminded them of Pink Floyd..one said Van Halen (?) and I was like cool! And my shit is heavy melodic..very similar to AEs new stuff.

Also, don't you even realize what went horribly wrong in your comment? The first part, that music is a language every child could understand, is 100% true. But the second part... well it should go like this: ...therefore it is very important that political topics are NOT, again: NOT brought in with music. I say an artist that's heavily influenced and motivated by politics, no matter whether left or right, anarchist of facist, is just a brainwasher of people and especially the young one, seducing people to your own political beliefs through music. Actually, I'd categorize such "artists" rather with child abusers and populist politicians than real, original music makers - and being real and original, by the way, is one of the most important aspects in metal music, I'd like to remind you.
Alissa is an amazing lyric writer hands down. She is like my inspiration for lyrics...

And when i heard war is eternal i just opened it and had it in the background and i was like wow...this is awesome. Only to realize how crap this is alissa white :D

Arch Enemy is one of the best extreme metal bands of the planet whether you like who likes! a that will not change, and his talent and reputation is demonstrated not only in this album if not also on stage and in the commitment and professional musicians who are for all its fans and the entire community that really loves and respects the true metal Alissa has been a great success and continuity in the consecration of the band and the new material "War Eternal" is the here and now Michael, Daniel, Sharlee, Nick and Alissa .. a kick ass guys who are big things for the band from now on and also have a great manager! sending them great power and continue reaping much success!! Michael knows his own music, but I wouldn't say it's a very melodic album. Angela isn't what's missing - it's Christopher Amott.

Amott brothers are amazing with any vocalist. Johan, Angela, whoever...and this new girl is gorgeous and rips some pretty legit vocals. Too bad Chris is gone but Michael can carry this band and Nick is awesome.
Great album. I love working out to it. The music does have experimental elements but it overall it's confident and so full of amazing energy. Congrats Alissa! I still listen to The Agonist albums whenever I want to hear your awesome clean vocals but your voice has evolved and I'm always impressed with each new album. Richard warren, even though the two bands themes are completely different, I think amon amarth and arch enemy are the two best melodic death metal bands. But that's just my personal opinion. They stomp ass!!!

I think she's hotter than Angela. And her vocals, as well as the new lyrics, are incredible. That being said, when I listen to Arch Enemy with her, I hear an amazing metal band. When I listen to Arch Enemy with Angela, my mind's eye perceives the singer to be the Blair Witch incarnate. This applies especially to Enemy Within.

please tell me she will sing clean vocals she has an amazing singing voice as well as screaming. =[ I remember hearing the agonist first album with her many years ago and it blew me away, over time her voice became stronger, it would be such a waste.

Yeah I would also love if they put a bit of clean vocals in. Maybe not the whole song but a chorus for example. As the pages burn would have sounded better if alissa sang it with clean vocals in my opinion. It's just the thing that people think that death metal is all about screaming and if arch enemy did make a change most people would complain about it. I think it's a normal thing if a band tries something new. So yeah I would love to hear a bit of clean vocals in arch enemy :D

I think you are in the minority thinking that the early stuff with Johan was the best. I think the band got significantly better after Angela joined. Not just because of the vocals, but because the music grew and changed in a good way. Song writing and so forth got a lot better.

WTF? I thought someone mixed up the bands and the thumbnail was wrong when I saw Alissa. I not listened to Arch Enemy that intensive but I always liked The Agonist more. I liked Alissa more as a vocalist as well. I knew they where friends but she just quitting her Band and going with Arch Enemy. I not listed to the new album yet but I will soon.
"[I]t is with great sadness that I must also announce that The Agonist as you have come to know it is now a thing of the past. I had every intention of (and had even started) writing and recording yet another killer album this year, but my former band-mates decided to choose a different path. I wish I could change the situation but the unfortunate decision was made beyond my control so I can only wish them the very best of luck now that our time working together has concluded."
This is what she said on Facebook. I don't know the order of things but this sounds like she decides to go with another band and then blames the old band for "decided to go another way" and calls Agonist completely different just because she went. The she tells she had every intention so write and record songs with them. So she wanted to tour with Arch Enemy and at the same time stay in Agonist as well? Just writing and recording? Or what?
Sounds like a money thing fro me, correct me if I am wrong but Arch seems to be more known an profitable. There are even interviews with he saying she worked at a gym and dislikes people who copy their music that revealed that its has been financially hard for her during earlier Agonist days (I found that very surprising)

"Eh, it's something that I try to put out of my mind, because it's obviously a painful topic. Obviously, when I found out the news about ARCH ENEMY I told them and I was under the impression that everything was happy and running smoothly. We even had a plan to make a nice partnership between the two bands!
What I didn't know is that they actually weren't happy at all and were finding a replacement for me, even while we were on tour together! When we had the last booked show completed, as soon as that was done, they basically told me: You're out, you're replaced, Bye. And so, that was a huge shock, I didn't know that any of that was going on. And it was basically what I've put my entire life into it at this point.[...]I'm proud of the albums that I made with those guys, I think we were a great band, I would have loved it would've continued being a great band with them - but there's some things you can't control."
Shr wanted to stay with The Agonist but they kicked her out.
Thanks for that information, again very surprising. I don't know her personally of course. But simply by the fact how talented she is and how good she looks a Band should be happy to have her. There seem to be personal issues with her former band and her. But nothing really bad for her I guess, in fact the timing for that seem to ended up perfectly.
