    Wasn't most of this already said by Max Weber in 1905 in "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism"?

    The Presbyterians, the Catholics and the Jews were blocked from full participation in the English state in the seventeenth eighteenth and into the nineteenth century. Which allowed them to form investment capital where other families were paying for family owned military regiments. And why hasn't he mentioned Edmond Burke.

    Very frustrating interview because I came to hear about the book. Instead, the interviewer grilled the author on other topics. The author even had to correct the interviewer that his questions were not germane.
