and REBECCA, TIM AND I MAKING A CAMEO ❤️ my fave humans
Hello Miss Angelina! You watched this one too?
Only the best Legends.
@@MoviesinDepth Hello Mr. Depth!😊
It was a right person wrong time situation because if Emily was alive victor would definitely love her
Agreed.
Her story is made all the more tragic for how intentionally ambiguous the symbolism at the ending of it was. Got a lovely heart, she's talented, a little bit goofy, thoughtful, and they were able to put so much character into her movemrnt and body language even though she's a cadaver that the depth of her care for him is clear. If she'd been alive, then I think he'd be with her for sure. Hopefully Victoria'd have a happy resolution as well, though.
Fun fact: the stop motion animation in this film is so good, some people were convinced it was actually CGI.
And Tim Burton was ridiculously offended by this, because he's proud of the art of stop motion animation, and all the effort that goes into it.
So much so, that when he made Frankenweenie, he actually held back on making it look good ON PURPOSE so people could still tell that it was stop motion animation
Interesting. I thought that was to pay homage to older horror films like the decision to make it black & white.
"Can crows lay eggs?"
I'm pretty sure they can since *they're* birds, but the question is, THAT BIG?
Don't even get me started on Kiwi's.
@Juan Potgieter Oh my god I was thinking the same thing-
I like how he just calls Victor "Johnny" the whole time 😂
Johnny = victor
That’s because Johnny Depp voiced Victor Van Dort.
@@MoviesinDepth yes I'm aware, just amused me you didnt bother calling the character by the characters name, as if he was actually Johnny Depp himself ;P
@@SuperMarioJulian Only in the English version. By this logic,I should call him Fabio!;-P
"why are the Ravens still normal down here?"
A wise man asked a raven that same question. He was quoted saying "Nevermore" 👀
There's actually a reading of The Raven done by Christopher Lee here in CZcams
Bonejangles was sung by Danny Elfman himself.
They had so many people try out for him, but no one was what they're looking for.
So Danny finally just said, "Fuck it, I'll do it."
Wooow! It was also him, who sang for Jack Skellington, isn't it? He's sooo great!
i was coming on to say that but just in case i looked to see if anyone else had said it already hahaha
This movie is definitely one of my favorites! I like how both Emily and Victoria are somehow good options for Victor despite them being so different. Emily has the musical side that they could bond over and she's so bubbly he'd be enamored and be taken out of his shell. He'd be very happy with her if he chose so. Victoria is shy like him ALSO with similar interests and they could bond over having parents like theirs. He'll be very happy with her as well. In the end what they chose is perfect, and I love that Emily still gets a happy ending with herself, having the man who caused her so much hurt get what he deserved. Plus, Victoria deserved a happy ending too and the only way that could happen is with Victor
“Can crows lay eggs?”
Nah they give birth like humans
I love how much colour we have in the land of the dead while the living world is gray and dark 👌🏻 beautiful movie
One of the most beautiful creepy movies ever
czcams.com/video/GxmDDeAlz7Q/video.html May I ask what name of the movie in video
There is another subtle [visual] pun you might have missed.
You remember all the crows throughout the movie, and especially in the wooded clearing where Emily is?
...A group of crows is called a “murder”.
4:40 - Also the voice of Saruman...
14:06 - yes it is nice that he got to hear that she would not have killed him / asked him to die for her; but that isn't why. The reason he agreed to do it is because:
1. he was too late for Victoria and could no longer hope to marry her (ergo nothing to go back for- note that even after bonding with Emily over the piano, his first thought is to get back home, to Victoria. It’s only after hearing Mayhew’s news-- which he is crushed by-- that he agrees to stay), and
2. That being the case, he does like and care about Emily, enough to want to try and bring her some happiness, after all she’s been through.
It makes me SO happy that you approve of the ending. I can understand it makes lots of folks upset that Emily doesn't end up with Victor, but to me, that One Line sums it up. She would never have found true peace and happiness in stealing them from someone else.
Corpse Bride>>>>>> >The Nightmare Before Christmas.
It's true and I'm tired of pretending it's not!
So freaking true
Hands down 👐🏻
FACTS
14:19 For me, it's more like because of Victor finding out that Victoria is now getting married. He didn't go back because either he can't convince her parents to give him a second chance no matter what or he thinks that she is happy with the new person she's going to marry. Because he never even met the person she's marrying with, so they might be the perfect person for Victoria.
Or both.
So, there's no point of going back to her since she's already getting married. He has this girl who is a Corpse that he accidentally married to, and she's in love with him. So might as well marry her since he doesn't know what to do now and at the same time Emily gets what she wants. It's a fair deal and situation. Plus, Emily seems not of bad person, so Victor thinks that it's not much of a problem to marry her as well.
Either way, the bottom line is that it’s Too Late, he can no longer hope to marry Victoria;
Plus, he does like and care about Emily- he has compassion for her. He may not LOVE her, but she is a pretty great person who has been through a lot and deserves something better. He has nothing more to go back for now, his own dreams are dashed; maybe at least he can try and make her happy.
@StoryMing Thank you for explaining it shorter and easier 😂😂 I was having a hard time doing that.
Lord Everglot struggling to smile and be polite is me when the people visiting my house have kids
Written and directed by Tim Burton starring Johnny Depp as Victor and Helena Bonham Carter as Emily in this stop-motion movie about a man who is engaged...if only he could get his vows right. When he actually does he accidentally puts the ring on the finger of a dead woman
*FUN FACT* the reason the crows/ravens where alive and still able to be in the underworld is because in folklore they are believe to be like spiritual guides and have mystical powers and are believed to be able to freely cross between the spirit world and real world. its also why Dream in the Sandman uses crows as messagers!
this movie is so beautiful!!! i'm always glad when someone else appreciates the ending... such amazing growth from emily :DD i love both emily and victoria (why fight when both gorgeous), and the slight symbolism of marriage being like restraints to emily and freedom for victoria,, i think about this stuff every autumn season :')
*People are dying to come here*
The best pun I have ever heard in my entire life
YES
Please do Edward Scissorhands if you haven't already, you won't regret a thing 💕
I second this! ✌🏼
Ouuu yesss i love that movie so i third this?? 😂😂
I fourth this!
OH. my. god.
Finally you're reacting to it!!! I really needed some lighthearted gothic spooky kind of film right now, because other movie commentary CZcamsrs have been watching horror films and I'm not ready yet, because I'm a little spooked in my own bedroom :')
Not him asking if Crows can lay eggs XD
If you want to watch another animated film with Johnny Depp in it. I would recommend Rango. I have nothing to say to it, I'm not even gonna say anything about it, I'd would love to see you go blind with it.
Yess! I wish I could like this comment a hundred times, he needs to react to this movie!
Calling that character "The Evil Jay Leno" is uncalled for... just call him Jay Leno.
Every dang time I hear Moonlight Sonata being played I just have to look around to see if a secret room is being opened so I could put my wood emblem in the mold to get a secret key.😉🤭
Loved your reaction!
Me and my twin sister learned the piano duet that Victor and Emily played. Such a fun piece by Danny Elfman.
Here's a thought. Victoria might end up inheriting whatever Lord whatshisname has left since she's technically his widow. Depends on the inheritance laws of the time I suppose.
my heartt this reaction was so wholesome and much needed
I think since WB produced this and Tim Burton directed this, a "blink and you'll miss him" cameo by Beetlejuice would've been awesome or maybe a cameo by Beetlejuice's Lydia during the Jazz Skeleton guy's song.
7:24 I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks that song is a BOP. Plus the guy voicing the singing skeleton is Danny Elfman. LEGEND.
I just watched Corpse Bride for the first time tonight so ofc I clicked on this video immediately. Personally I really liked it. It was a great movie and honestly the music slaps. Specifically that second song about Emily's back story. A underrated banger.
When I was a Kid I rewatched the last scene obsessively, it's so beautiful when she becomes butterflies. I saw it in French though
Idk why but the edit at 4:43 was so funny to me! You were like "Oh it's Dokku, how you doing?" and then it cuts to Dokku's death in Revenge of the Sith with Dokku looking like "I'm about to be decapitated by two lightsabers, how the f*** do you think I'm doing?"
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
YO you should do Rango if you like Johnny Depp animated movies. It’s one of his best imo
Tim Burton + Johnny Depp + Helena Bonham Carter + Danny Elfman = PERFECTION 👌
This is great! You picked up on everything it really made me laugh! ‘Nightmare before Christmas’ and ‘Corpse Bride’ are my 2 favourite movies of all time!
I’m not a fan with stop motion movies. But this one is really good. And I love Tim Burton’s movies like Beetlejuice, Edward scissorhands and Batman (1989)
"Can crows lay eggs?" Bruh they're birds
“This is giving me straight Nightmare Before Christmas vibes. What if they were like somehow tied subtly?”
Me: So.... who’s gonna tell him?
The maggot was modeled on Peter Lorre. He was an actor who played many famous and sometimes creepy roles.
The skeleton with the mustache was probably based on Rhett Butler, a character in "Gone With the Wind" and played by Clarke Gable.
This movie is a gem
i really wished that there could be an alternate ending where victor and emily got married, i think it would be nice to see
Loved this film when I was 6 years old and I still do now
13:38 that skeleton clearly has to be homage to Vincent Price.
One of my favorite movies!!! Love the reaction 💜🙌🏼
4:09 Oh goodness gracious, no! A woman _reading?!_ You must be mad! She will get... you know... _ideas!_
(am i doing the impression right?)
Perfect
I love this movie! Great reaction
czcams.com/video/GxmDDeAlz7Q/video.html May I ask what name of the movie in video
Victoria is Tim Burton's version of Elizabeth Olson.🤭 Can't see her as Victoria in a live action CORPSE BRIDE movie with a British accent?
I normally dislike musicaks with a passion, but Tim realy does make them work, so I enjoyed them here. A great little animated movie, pleased to have it on Blu-Ray!
Obviously if you haven't done it already, next should react to Coraline. It's also stop motion.
Can crows lay eggs?
Yes, yes they can....they're birds
Composer Dan Elfman as also the voice Bonejangles which hurt his throat immensely
"Your not in the ranks"...
..."YOU OBVIOUSLY ABOVE IT"
One of my favorites movies of all time 😍😍😍😍😍😍
I think that crows r still alive down there is because crows r a symbol of a bad omen. Also there's a major theory that victor is the young boy in frankweenie, and jack from nightmare before Christmas (all these three films all have a dead dog). Also small theory that Emily is also sally from nbc
"What if they were somewhat tied, subtlety."
Me: Shh~! No one mention the Frankenweenie-Corpse Bride-Nightmare Before Christmas Theory.
What is it?
I know part of it is that the dog in all the movies is actually the same dog. I think the main characters are supposedly the same guy as well. Never seen frankenweenie but the kid grows up to be Victor, dies and becomes Jack. Not sure if that's the actual theory but it's what I've seen.
The way these theories work is, if two characters have a similar name or appearance they're either related or the same person, and if something's weird, someone's dead.
I was actually kinda hoping you'd watch this one! Actually, I thought you'd watch Nightmare Before Christmas first!❤️
Oh, that's my recommendation!😊
It's like this one but different, and some have actually said that the two ghost dogs are connected to Sparky from Frankenweenie.🙂
Anyway, hope you're doing well, fellow anime watcher! Plus Ultra!⭐
I love the ending and the plot twist ❤❤
I feel like stop-motion movies are the most underrated ones. Like they are insanely time-consuming and yet they get barely little recognition. Imagine the poor people who worked their butts off for those movies only to see that almost no one has heard of them...
And Tim Burton would get PISSED if you called his movies CGI. No respect at all
One of my favorites! Such a good movie!
07:49 - 08:00 "Both.Both.Yeah,both is good.U__U"
14:11 - 14:13 Excuse me,madams,have you *never* been alive?How do you not KNOW that there is"an upstairs"?🤨
16:47 - 16:48 "I agree."by Amy #FakingIt
It gives you nightmare before christmas vibes. Because they were both directed by Tim Burton
He also did sweenie todd and beetlejuice. ALL HIM. and Johnny Depp is in a fair amount of Tim Burtons films
Tim Burton did not direct 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'. It was produced and conceived by Tim Burton
Tim Burton admitted the fact Victor and Emily look like Depp and Carter was a coincidence, but that's one hell of one
They did Victoria dirty in this movie
Stop-motion movie about an arranged marriage starring Johnny Depp as Victor Von Gott as a newly rich man who is betrothed to Hellana Bonham Carter as Emily. A woman who was left for dead. Victor can't seem get his vows right. When he actually does it's to Emily thus taking him to the underworld. Realizing his mistake he tries to make it right
"Can crows lay eggs??"
What
“Can crows lay eggs?”
Ummmm.....
Loooovvvee this movie! Stop motion is the best
It’s so beautiful and sad
Watch 9 plz. It’s a great creepy and haunting movie for Halloween
Did...did you just ask if a bird could lay an egg?
YEEEEESSSS
Isn’t evil Jay leno just regular Jay leno
You should react to Disney's Halloweentown
Can you make a reaction of rhe first ep of bad batch
You should watch Coraline next ;)
Also plz react on Horror movies like "The Others"..its the best classic 😍
Danny Elfman voiced Bonejangle but it hurt his throat
... "can crows lay eggs?"
I always enjoyed this movie.
Dude i would totally hook up with an undead chick if she was as kind hearted as Emily and also voiced by helena boham carter-Burton.
I love Emily😭
My favorite Tim Burton movie of all time
When is the last of fear street coming out
Yed
Emily>Victoria but I do rather like Vicky's itty bitty tiny mouth.
Please watch/react to the little mermaid 🙏🏼
I feel bad for Emily and I always will but Victoria shouldn’t get so much hate and I am glad that you don’t give her so much hate
Please react to "Lemony Snicket's a series of unfortunate events"
don't show me clips of la la land so unexpectedly i will burst into tears
Can crows, the birds, lay eggs. Like birds do
Corpse Bride is my favorite movie
Honestly the fact that people even want victor and Emily to be together irritates me because in my opinion they missed the point of the story. Yes Emily did give Victor up but if you remember her sole purpose her dream after she died was to be set free. Marriage was just a fallacy of a missed out dream when she was alive.
I completely believe that this story follows a lesson for both Victor and Emily. For Emily she learned to let go of her past and her missed out dreams. She learned freedom is something you can give to yourself rather than seek it out in other people.
As for Victor, he learned what true sacrifice is and what it means to love someone unconditionally. He learned the importance of cherishing every moment and it was all thanks to Emily. Victor was giving up what many deem the most valuable his life, and let’s be frank it wasn’t because he loved Emily or in my opinion because Victoria was marrying someone else. It was because he knew Emily would never ask him to sacrifice his life to be with her. And in that moment he saw a humanity within her. A heartbreak. And Victor chose to make the ultimate sacrifice to give Emily what she believed was her dream.
While I believe Victorias marriage to the devil (I refuse to name him) played a part. To me it wasn’t as significant as Victor wanting to make that sacrifice for Emily.
In the end both of them learned valuable lessons. And Emily was able to find peace while Victor was able to find love.
💔😍
Don’t make fun of me but I had no idea that was Johnny Depp until like last month 💀
I’ve realized that sort of thing way later than I should myself 😂
@@MoviesinDepth As long as I’m not alone 😂

If you react to "Interview with the vampire" I will be more happy.
hehhehehehe i kidding, but no, please watch it.
Corpse Bride is better than Nightmare Before Christmas. Fight me 😐
you are 😍
I still really wanted victor to end up with Emily I have to say--- Emily is a darling
There's a theory that there is a secret trilogy. Paranorman is Victor and Victor becomes Jack
This video can also be titled as, Movies In Depth saying and complimenting how beautiful Emily and Victoria are.
But props to them for making a Corpse Bride look *still* stunning. I don't know how they manage it, I mean it's Tim Burton, women in his films always seems to look like angels. Especially that blonde girl from another Tim Burton film called Big Fish. One of favorite Tim Burton films, it's not those classic gothic Tim Burton film but it's still wonderful to me. I just realized, Tim Burton seems to often have a girl with blonde hair, pale skin and blue dress 🤔🤔
