Commanders GM when he first meet Daniel's in late 2022 told Daniel's he would get drafted before the 5th round and he wouldn't translate well to the NFL

Washington fan here. I’m torn. I made up my mind probably six weeks ago that I wanted Jayden Daniels. With that being said, if there is any truth to him not wanting to come here, then I can’t say I necessarily want him here. Yes, I want the best pick that we can get at number two, but does anyone really want a player coming to their team who doesn’t want to be there? 🤷♂️
It's draft season, and there's a lot of hot air out there, like always. Players suddenly have character concerns or are uninterested in playing for some teams due to anonymous sources.

Adam Peters was the assistant GM at the 49ers and was excellent at talent acquisition and contract negotiations. I was actually a bit bummed he left, but was always going to happen while Lynch was around. Commanders have a good GM now I'm willing to at least give them a season to show some direction.
He was part of the braintrust that traded multiple 1st round picks for Trey Lance. Everyone likes to bring up JaMarcus Russell but at least the Raiders only spent 1 1st round pick on him

The NFL is always changing. I think there are positions that price themselves out of the market with some exceptions of course. I think QB is not far behind RB's. That's why you see QB's on rookie contracts the team doing well then the QB gets paid and you hardly see that pay off in the long run.
Washington did do a stupid thing by having 4 qb prospects in at the same time especially since they won’t be drafting 2 or 3 of them. But it’s a business and Daniels needs to realize he’s the 1 my team wants according to all I’ve read.

Commanders fan here. After the bears traded fields, all eyes have been on the number 2 draft pick. I’m just as confused today as I was early in the offseason with what we plan to do. AP said that we are definitely not trading our number 1 pick on his presser last week, but then why do we need all this smoke about who we gonna select if that’s not a consideration? About 30% of our fans want Maye and 76% want Daniels. One percent want to trade back and take Pennix Jr. just as long as we don’t take JJ @ number 2 I’m good. It is not Schefter's job to "stir the pot to get teams to make moves". His job is to get the person who wouldn't usually watch the draft to tune into the draft. I pity the GM who does something because Schefter says so.

he's a reporter. unless he's making stuff up, he can't really stir the pot or or leaking anything. he's supposed to report what he hears and thinks bases on things he hears. if an agent or team doesn't like it, it doesn't really matter.
After reporting what he saw and heard he made a value judgment. That is not the job of a reporter. That’s the job of a pundit or an analyst. So when he made his value judgment people rightly assumed that he knew something he couldn’t reveal because otherwise it would land outside of the parameters of his job

You & all podcasters have been saying for weeks that JD is going to be selected by the Commanders. Why then did the team bring in 4 qbs at the same time? Looks like they wanted to set up a social experiment. "Which qb connects with other players? Which qb is a better leader?" So it looks like they haven't made up their minds. They had some alone time with JD, but also with 3 other QBs on the same day. If they had indeed decided on JD like y'all said, why the experiment? My understanding was all the QBs felt disrespected for Commanders little experiment. JD's agent indicated JD had lost interest after that dumb move. Also, Commanders have a lot of cooks in the kitchen. Maybe some of the cooks are not sold on JD which is why they had that dumb experiment. I guess we'll see.
