Most single skaters are on the short side, but if you check pair skaters, then men are so tall and nicely built that they could act as models.
Some of them do (Matteo Guarise used to be an underwear model).

また徹底的にやったねえ。これ見ると男子スケーターは１７０㎝前後から下の方が跳びやすいてことかな。競技によってちょうどいい身長や体つきがあるよね。にしても羽生君だけ練習着 (^_^;)んでもってあの細さと男子体型でも女子体型でもない無性の感じがまさに人間らしからぬ妖精のようだ。こうやって比べてみるといかに羽生君が体つきも唯一無比かわかるね。

Info is on the ISU site. Also, the older the athlete, the less info about him you can found. But there is more data about women than about men. Maybe ladies were more popular before.

That's what I was thinking, didn't realise Evegni was so tall due to the amount of height he gets on jumps
@@babybearandco Yeah, Plush is a tall one, close to 5' 11". It amazes me too that in his prime, he literally had the finest jumping technique in the world. I was just yesterday watching him complete the quad toe- triple toe at the 2002 Grand Prix final and admiring the speed, rotation and perfect horizontal positions he could achieve. He was like a textbook. But I've seen him skate in person and his speed, timing and reflexes were phenomenal.
pairs skating and ice dancing is probably the last refuge of the taller skater....
Same goes for women (Trusova, kihira,sherbakova)
Maybe, but Lysacek was at least borderline on being able to pull off quad toe which is insane at his height. Also tall men could perhaps pull off the quad sal because of the mechanics of the jump. And Samarin is relatively tall and able to do quad lutz. So who knows. But quad flip seems hard if you don’t have a Shoma uno body type lol.

It's amazing to realize how small Shoma is. With the hight of junior high school student or evee smaller, how he could give us such a gigantic impression in his performance.

Knew Lysacek would be the tallest. Assumed Shoma might be among smallest. Some of these heights seem inflated by an inch or two though. Particularly the guys in the middle of the pack. This makes it seem like the average elite male skater is 5’10 when it’s really more like 5’8

Interesante, aunque a esto se deberia agregar que en el caso de Shoma y Messing sus piernas son cortas a comparación de los demás, quienes aunque midan un poco más o lo mismo sus piernas son largas, y aun así logran saltar 3A y quads, el trabajo de fuerzas en las piernas es bastante notorio
OK I never expected Shoma Uno to be this tiny. He's pocket sized. I'm 1m64 myself, which is pocket sized compared to Roman Sadovsky but wow.
This video only shows the height of single male skaters. But maybe the male Chinese ice dance skater (Wang & Ryu ??? ) is taller than Lysacek. Does anyone know how tall he is ?
