  • A harmonic progression (or harmonic sequence) is a progression formed by taking the reciprocals of an arithmetic progression. Equivalently, a sequence is a harmonic progression when each term is the harmonic mean of the neighboring terms.

      It is to cancel the coefficient in the d so you have to divide it by -1/5 since we are finding the value of d

      I think there is a mistake in example number 2 because (the 5th term or A sub 5 =-7/18) therefore, the 5th term in the harmonic sequence is equal to -18/7.
      👉here is my solution sir plss correct me if I'm wrong😊
      first i get the common difference(d):
      A sub 7 = (A sub 2) + 5d
      -1/2 = -2/9 + 5d
      -1/2+2/9 = 5d
      -5/18=5d
      (-5/18)÷5= (5d)÷5 😁we need to divide both side by 5 para macancel iyong 5 na kasama ni d(common difference) upang iyong d nalang ang matitira sa kabila
      -1/18=d🤗
      since, i already got the d
      let's find the 5th term
      A sub 5= (A sub 2) + 3d
      = -2/9 + 3(-1/18)
      = -2/9 + (-3/18)
      = -7/18 then i get the 5th term in the harmonic sequence by getting the reciprocal of it, -18/7👈

      i guess it is because he forgot to put (n-1) on the formula, and why 6? it is because asub7 = asub1 + (7-1) 6d
      same goes for the first equation : asub2 = asub1 + (2-1) d. why d only? because 2-1 = 1, and 1 is not supposed to be on the side of variables, so that's why 1 became d (same goes for other variables)
      remember that the formula for arithmetic sequence is always :
      asubn = asub1 + (n-1) d
      keep on learning : )

      MPE, para matira ung (d) at malaman mo na ung value nun. Para matira ung variable, need mo imultiply un sa reciprocal niya. For ex. ung 7d, reciprocal ng 7 is 1/7, kapag nagmultiply sila 1d ang sagot or d. Dapat mong imlutiply sa equation is ung reciprocal ng number na katabi ng variable ng need mong value. Tapos siyempre imultiply mo rin ung kabilang part ng eq.
