It's a shame Maru is having to deal with his injuries. You can see he's struggling quite a bit.

Really a shame. Luckily it doesn't seem to affect him very much against his fellow Koreans, and it was good to see him get 2nd in the GSL a week ago.
However his injury seemed to flare up badly vs showtime this match, and very often against Serral as well. So sad...

I love how scrappy it got at the end of the first game, with the swing back into gateway and barracks units. I don't think i've ever seen such a wave of zealots before

That fight at end very end of game 2 made me so hyped. Maru seems to be making always impossible engages possible and extremely scary. The tank target fire was sooooo sick. Woooow.
Wow. I always cheer for Maru but damn, Showtime played an awesome game at the end. Those disruptor shots won for sure.

I'm a big fan of both. And I've also seen Maru do better at controlling... After reading some of the comments below, it's sad to hear about his injuries 😞 On another note, Showtime disruptors were connecting big time!

I think this is now my favorite match.
PvT has been my favorite so far lately -- at least of non-mirror matchups. It's definitely the most balanced from early to late.
So many GSL code S champs in the comment section sharing their expert knowledge on balance and strategy in SC2.
Man, lack of Tectonic Destabilisers bothered me SO MUCH! That's so much DPS lost on these Tempests.
ONe of the sickest wins from showtime ive ever seen in the first game in the video
is it worth it for terran to squeeze out 2-3 thors here? serves as a mobile missile turret to help vikings zone tempests. immune to storm essentially. does well against carriers. doesn't do well against disruptors, but there weren't a lot, and also there were enough tanks to zone the disruptor.

@@sinanc.4635 but he had like 5-6 libs seiged up for most of the game. I don't think the lots will trade well if they have to run through libs + tanks + a little bit bio, right?
Naw every time the army has to retreat/split to dodge the disruptors the thors will be left hanging and get picked off.
Thors are usually bad against Protoss. They shine against mutalisks for example, or even Broodlords.
@@jayjacobl4667 It's such a hard dance to play. You make too many Thors, you can lose your army to Disrupters. The Tempests can still out-range them and the Liberators too. If they can get shot up by Immortals too.

Maru a GOAT, but he made a LOT of mistakes in these games in terms of micro / not paying attention to disruptor shots.
Yep, same reasons he lost to hero. Sloppy mistakes from someone who usually doesnt make them. Dont know if his injuries are getting worse again or something else but the last month or two has been hard to watch imo.

@@RecentlyDreaming spinal degeneration was a major issue he was having and they were working on fixing. However it could also be mental stress irl (passing family etc)
That first game was so stressful
And to think that the nuke push was the least epic part of G1
game 1 was intense
Better audio quality would greatly improve this cast.
It was a shame Maru used the nukes too much to hit the actual bases and not for zoning. He used them so much better against Reynor at Dream Hack. There he would place the nuke between bases to zone Reynor's army away while his own army picked off one of the bases. I think those are much more effective as they're more guaranteed damage.
I find it a more mid-macro dual hammer intensive map build scenario

I honestly have 1 question for every player, mo doubt they are the best but
1) Why showtime didn't made tectonic shots for tempest and
2) Why maru didn't land those god damn vikings. I'm sure u all know what a mess is 30 vikings on ground. Like what the heck. he coud kill in 10 secs 4th base of a showtime and then going for production on main forsing showtime to recall. Or later when showtime warped in 20+ stalkers why not to sell vikings for time and some damage? It's not muta or corraptors it is decent in killing ground

i want to feel happy cuz finally a protoss player defeated a big one... but maru's hands are not that healthy right now... do blizzard hates protoss?
Ghosts are just ridiculous against protoss. 1 cast can do thousands of damage vs clumped toss shields... Not to mention it saps energy against templars too. It's basically a feedback that is AOE and hits all units instead of just casters... (And they also can cloak and do decent dps, and snipe templar)
Protoss looks too strong with the tempest and the dark templars...
All that money in the bank…how come no tempest orange upgrade??
showtime's army control was so bad. kept f2ing his disruptors straight into the front line and getting them killed for no reason. he was so scared to stand and fight he split his army to retreat leaving the other half to die.

I’m ruined for casting because of Artosis, Tastless, and PiG. Anyone else borderline ruins any matchup for me. Those three are so good they should cast every game.
Maru uncharacteristically bad here. He took some really bad trades, and leaving those Medivacs alone while the Showtime's army approached? Very unlike him. Showtime played great though!

Showtime can beat Serral, and Serral consistently beats Maru. No other way this could've gone. Maru is good but he clearly can't hack it at the uppermost brackets anymore.

I can't help but chuckle the more and more I see of Maru. People think he is something special because he can exploit the blatant TvZ late game imbalance but he just get styled on when facing Protoss lately and he can't get carried by such an imbalance anymore.
In before "wul akualy" yeah I know he beats some protoss players to, but you can see a clear and glaring difference between his TvZ match-ups and his TvP match-ups. He may as well be a different player for how strong he actually looks between the two.
He is something special name 1 person that have done what he has. He is also dealing with medical problems so yeah what you`re seeing aint his top preformance. That and terran needs the best Micro or your entire army dies in a split second
Any protoss have chance to beat maru but you cannot say the same about terran vs trap or dark
I think they should balance toss against terran, imagine this, the best terran in the world is getting kid by any toss players
So how much more to those not maru level terrans?
I mean, the only effective mobile units of terrans against toss are just bios, but its easily countered by colossi, disruptors and storms, terrans cannot make more of mechs because the more they make mech units the more they lose their mobility and thats bad specially in zealot or DT runbys in mid to late game
When maru stops playing to join army everyone will see what a joke terran is
Terrans in this meta only have a chance to win with a shitty playstyle like, scv pull or 2 base all out, its 50 50, do or die gameplay which kinda sucks, because if terran let toss to their own thing then it would be a huge problem to terrans in mid to late game, specially when the enemy amass disruptors
If showtime didnt transition to skytoss and just keep its ground composition, that game 2 will end real bad for maru
man i appreciate your efforts, but can you make 5-15 minute videos again? :D those 30-60 minute videos are too long to watch

I’ll mix them in with the longer videos! Typically I highlight the epic matches/series and cut out around 50% of a series on average.
The longer videos do much better in terms of likes/views compared to the short ones. That’s why that has been my focus
