    In my opinion the wood duck is one of the coolest birds in the world. They certainly can compete with any animal for the title of “Worlds Most Gorgeous/Beautiful”. I have heard that the wood ducks in lower Michigan often seek out the Pilated Woodpecker’s holes in trees to use as nests. Awesome video.

      Watching this whole process over a month and a half a have a whole new respect for them! This mama put in a ton of time and work for these chicks. Mothers don’t get near enough credit! Hahaha
