Serpent Hunter's WA is actually surprisingly powerful in PvP. It's hard to land, yes, I know. But the hyperarmor you get during the motion makes you capable of trading with almost everything in this game, and the damage it deals is just... surreal. With both Shard of Alexander and Spear Talisman, landing a full counter WA, you can easily one-tap someone with 1700 hp.
Fun fact, the Lance has hyper armored attacks even in the offhand, and true combos with main hand colossal crouch/roll pokes. Every time you whiff one, you can punish someone who tries to whiff punish you with L1. It's actually cursed.
I power stanced Vykes Spear and Tree spear for my frenzy flame build. You have access to Physical, Fire and Holy damage just like that, and you can enchant the Treespear with any element you could need. Just amazing
The Lance was one of the weapons I ended up settling on pretty early in Elden Ring's lifetime, before I even looked into how good various things were, I even put Ice Spear on it! Excellent all arounder weapon with a very potent ranged ash of war made it a perfect weapon for getting through that PvE first playthrough.
Im hyped for collosal weapons, ive been using an heavy golem halberd with wave of darkness for so long im in love with iy so much Also the fact that you landed the great serpent hunt is hilarious and amazing
i love this series! its like fextra lifes, but updated since his videos are 10-12 months old. plus you use them so we can see real damage/use. and please do EVERY SINGLE weapon class!
Hey monk, I got a really neat build idea for you. The crouch poke on colossal swords true combos into an offhand straight sword. This works for ALL colossals and ALL straight swords. Theres a ton of different builds you can do with it and fit it on, and i'm excited to see what you do with it.
I hated great spears until I used the crucible tree spear. Now they are one of my favourite weapon types. Does suck how most aren't able to be infused tho

To do that you have to get on top of the cliff to the north of the square, by going a bit west, and jump down to the square. You *can* jump upwards to it with torrent, but that's a difficult task. You'll likely spend more time trying that than just going around.
I run a thumbprint shield with serpent hunter and bloody lance, being able to poke from behind a giant shield is so satisfying, and putting spear throw on the lance on top for a distance weapon, icing on the cake. I run bloody lance for bosses that can bleed, and serpent hunter for those that can't, and then two hand the shield SPECIFICALLY for the first phase of the final boss, for some reason the thumbprint shield does more damage than serpent hunter, makes no sense to me.
Tree Spear is potential the best GS for a Faith build cause you can pump the damage to ridiculous levels with Order's Blade and don't spend much on Dex despite Faith having lower scaling multiplier
On my first character, heavy armor 2k+ health, I did an invasion for Varre's quest that went to that rot pool with the lacerated tree spirit before Melania. I run up the hill towards the host as they start to channel Mohg's spear (never saw it before) and it instantly stunlocked me and deleted my health bar. Shits busted. But cool.
I hope we get a "clean" version of vyke's spear with no madness and customizable ash of war as a weapon in the dlc. The Lance is great, but I'd love a greatspear that doesn't look like a medieval sport weapon that we can slap AoW on, you know
Mohglesters Spear is an insane beast in PvE. 2 AoW's brought Malenia down, 2 more and phase 2 was done. That was the easiest Malenia fight I've ever seen lmao
man i got a heavy faith and strength crucible knight at lvl 200 with silurias woe and it consistently hits for over 6k in pve and i’ve hit for 2200 in the coliseum💀
After ur done with this series what do u plan on uploading? If i may suggest anything maybe i would say if u can make like videos of ur favorite loadouts? Joke or serious. Keep up the good work though :).
I personally use the lance with the haligtree greatshield and some heavy armor, it recreates my favorite weapon and play style from monster hunter with a bunch of shielded pokes and guard counters.
I one shot a level 500 at level 175 with Siluria’s. He had 80 vigor and bull goat armor but I think because of my buffs at the time it didn’t matter 2700 damage.
3:33 Finding the lance isn't _quite_ so simple, while it is true that it is found at that location, the way you get it is by jumping onto the ruin from up top (where the riding Godrick knight who drops golden vow AOW is) At least to my knowledge, you can't get up to the lance from the camp itself
Mohg's spear is so broken in PvE, i used it on all bosses, including Rykard and Malenia on NG+3 and procced bleed constantly on the bosses, malenia was 6 L2-s in total on NG+3 keep that in mind, my fave weapon of all, true beast of a weapon

id say a good improvement on your videos would be time stamps in your video. especially in your straight sword video i was trying to look at specific swords but found it quite tedious. Would greatly appreciate you giving it some thought

Siluria's Tree with a Greatshield makes you feel like you're LARPing as an Abrams tank.

Treespear can ALSO be buffed by Sacred Oath on top of its buff, in addition to the Jellyfish Shield buff. Thing hits like an absolute dumptruck.
