great video. Just getting a handle (wake up call) on what maintenance I will be getting myself into. Just bought a 08 k1200GT. I'm sure there are some similarities between the GT and LT. I've been watching Kirk's video's as well. Doesn't seem as daunting has I had originally thought. Thanks for the vid.
Thanks, It looks pretty intense but actually quite an easy bike to work on, straight forward, it's just unbuttoning every thing that takes time, once you do it 3 or 4 times it goes faster.
Nice Video and shows why no one in their right minds should ever buy these old relics...LOL. After 10 year and 65000 miles I went from a CL (many of the same parts as an LT) to a Victory Cross Country tour.
These bars are solid and seem beefier. This is my 2nd LT and the first LT was tipped over by previous owner and it had stock tubular bars and were bent slightly as a result of the tip over. Tried my best to straighten them out but no luck. Also, as a result the fairings didn't line up exactly, not a horrible thing but visibly noticeable. Don't know where these came from, assuming BMW product.
Yes I have a clymer manual, however I usually only reference it when I get stuck or don’t understand what I’m taking apart this bike is fairly easy to understand it’s assembly for the type of things are usually do still a very good book to have on hand

Hi,
These crash bars look more solid and beefy than the original ones.....are they? And where do you get them/how much? Thanks so much.
