Tampere Tramway Mock-Up

We visited Tampere 25.February 2019 to see new tram Skoda For City Smart Artic X34 Mock-up. We travelled to Tampere with VR's Pendolino train Extra-class. Before exhibition we went to see how tramway trackworks have been progressed.

I have only visited Tampere twice in my life (1971/2019) and my wish is to see the city again. I didn't see the tram on my second visit because the visit was short. I find this film very interesting because it also shows old recordings and because I have never seen a tram.
I have long considered why I find the city of Tampere so beautiful: I like the brick architecture of the factories, I like the location on the lakes and the forest around the city and most importantly: I like the people of Tampere, who both like me helped so kindly in this city in 1971 and 2019 - because I don't speak Finnish. Hopefully God will give me a few more years: then I would like to come back and take a look at the tram .

Although I don't understand a word in Finnish, I like your video. I did not know that Pendolino trains also run in Finland. We have them here in the Czechia since 2000, but they look quite different inside. Btw, the "Arctic" trams are very familiar to me, because our producer Skoda transportation bought the Finnish factory for these trams and now they also produce cars of similar design for other cities around the world, for example for Turkey, Hungary or Germany too.

Ainoa asia mitä en ymmärrä tässä ratikkahankkeessa on se, että mikäli näkemäni kartat pitävät paikkansa, linja ei mene Särkänniemen kautta. Miten ihmeessä tällaiseen ratkaisuun on päädytty?

Vastaus tulee aika myöhässä, mutta ratikan toisessa vaiheessa pysäkki tulisi n. 700 metrin päähän Särkän lipunmyyntipisteestä

The tram is not in operation yet, but it will be in a couple of years time when they finish constructing it.

When I think about which cities in the world are the most beautiful I first think of Paris, then San Francisco and then Tampere.
