    Your film brings back the memory of my own visits to Krakow, where I also rode the trams all around the old town. But it's already been a few years ago now. Thanks for this nice footage!

      No worries! How many days did you spend doing that?

      @@swissclimber1 On my last visit to Krakow I was in town for 3 days straight and on each day the trams were part of the program for at least one third of the day! :)

    Less known fact: Before Poland regained her independence in 1918 Kraków was part of the Habsburg Empire and all vehicular traffic, including trams, was on the left side of the road, just like in other parts of that empire. Independent Poland unified traffic rules in her territory and all vehicles had to move on the right side, just like in the parts of Polish lands that where under German and Russian rule before. So the tram system in Kraków had to be converted.

      Hey thank you for the insight -that is most interesting. You know what happened with Sweden and driving on the L/R side of the road?

      @@swissclimber1 W zachodnich Niemczech również. Bloki budowano wszędzie, nie tylko w socjalizmie. To był standardowy typ zabudowy miejskiej po wojnie. A w Krakowie i tak jest ich stosunkowo mało w porównaniu do innych miast w Polsce.

    Well you haven't seen Poznan's rapid tram system I take it. And you haven't been in Wroclaw, since Krakow's trams left such an impression on you. Please take a look at these two cities at least here on CZcams, on tram dedicated channels, you maybe pleasantly surprised 😀

    Hey. Translation to polish is not correct sometimes. Example 1:35 "dyrygent" means "orchestra conductor" not the tram announcer. In the future You could contact for example me or someone from internet to get that checked for you ;)

    • @swissclimber1
      @swissclimber1 Před 3 lety

      I think I have more Krakow Tram videos to make. I will be sure to contact you for translation services - I assume you'll do this complementary? I used Google Translate. It may not be perfect but all can make assumption that orchestra conductor = announcer. At least Google didn't say it was a Bank Robber

      Mapa nie jest prawidłowa jeśli chodzi o sieć tramwajową. Przedstawiona w filmie przedstawia układ linii autobusowych nocnych A nie tramwajowych. Ale całościowo film jest świetny.

      I'm sorry, please, but your Krakow Tram Map shoes only the bus lines and only during the night. The tramlines are given no numbers from 600 and higher.
