Husqvarna Zero Turn stopped moving, easy fix!

My Husqvarna Z254 F stopped moving in the middle of cutting the yard. The first thing you want to check is the tensioner spring on the drive belt. Here's a quick how to, including a temporary fix to get you back to cutting the yard.

Thank you for this, my mower had the same issue i stretched the spring with pliers and ran a thick steel hook through it to join the parts worked long enough to move the mower.

There is a video that tells you to double up on that spring and never have the problem again. Or, drill and put a bolt thru that hole which will prevent the wear this guy experienced. See how the metal had stretched and pulled up? That's what cut the end of the spring!

Are you sure this is the correct place to hook it? I’ve seen a lot of people hooking it to the vertical part of the frame.

That's a great question, I will look and report back. Its not much of a stretch to imagine that it could have been assembled incorrectly.

@@dillee_dillee the vertical bracket closest to that hole has two holes in it from the factory. the closest one currently has the fuel line ziptied to it. I may rearrange things and give it a test.

@@dillee_dillee I hooked it to the vertical bracket, which has two holes in it. I connected it to the bottom hole, which is the straightest angle on the spring. I mowed one day with it and the belt broke. I think this belt was compromised already, so I will leave it there and try again
