  • In recognizing the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War, Senate Media Services partnered with the Minnesota Historical Society to feature some of the war's artifacts on display in the Minnesota State Capitol. On this week's program, Brian Pease, Historic Site Manager, provides the stoic and colorful history behind the Civil War-era statues, portraits, busts, paintings and flags prominently showcased for public viewing.
Also, Governor Mark Dayton declares January 1st, 2013, as Emancipation Proclamation Remembrance Day, and state leaders gather to acknowlege the significance of President Abraham Lincoln's transformative declaration 150 years ago.
