  • Kurashiki, a historic city in Japan’s Okayama Prefecture, on the lip of the Inland Sea, is about as far as you can get from the American Wild West. For the uninitiated, then, it would seem an unlikely place for MR PORTER’s in-house brand Mr P. to turn to in search of that most American article of clothing: a pair of jeans. But that’s exactly what we did. Watch this short film to find out why.

Omg, it is such a nice movie about jeans. Watching about jeans is good but in this movie it was also great to see the machines and people working there. Also that super-professional man who was manually cutting out the pockets! It is such a responsibility! And the women suing. Amazing movie, thank you.

I have a couple of order made pairs from Betty Jean - and can say they are simply the best I have ever seen and certainly ever worn. Watching this film gives me even more appreciation for what has gone into the making of them - and makes me want to go and get a few more pairs.
