I disagree when people say this is a lazy collab and the price doesn't reflect the shoes. When you consider the mold, materials, labor, country of manufacturing, and margin, the price justifies it. Obviously, this sold out but I personally think Adidas did a terrible job on marketing them because if you ask me, there was a lack of hype on these. Came and went and people forgot 🤷🏽♂️ I personally like the silver best but that's just me and my take lol
It was more of a Prada shoe than an Adidas shoe imo, it’s basically a discounted Prada shoe in an Adidas silhouette - the much more popular Cloudbusts retail for almost 2x as much and are arguably more “synthetic” (and rubber) to the touch.
The OG was more hyped (the one with the bowling bag). Knee-jerk reaction to this shoe is mainly to its price and the lack of “wow” - but Prada is not about “wow” - especially given how this Prada-made shoe compares very favorably to other shoes that they sell.
Overpriced for Adidas? Yes. For Prada? No.

Yes there’s an element of what brands will allow, case in point the recent Lamborghini x Supreme collab. Could Supreme have done more? Absolutely. Would Lamborghini let them? Apparently not. There are lots of factors that go into it but if you treat the Superstar as a Prada shoe, which it is since they made it, it’s actually entry-level compared to what they sell.

Dior AJ1 did it better IMO. Though price-wise the Ultra-boost 1.0 DNA Adidas The U (Miami, FL) looked cool to me. Glad you broke down the leather on the PRADA Adidas. I can see E. Murphy & A. Hall cracking jokes on the PRADA Adidas price for "Coming 2 America 2". The metallic is growing on me, especially with a Las Vegas Raiders jersey. Fun video.

No not at all! Go for it!
I bought them in silver and I love them ❤️. As for sizing, I think they just didn’t bother making different men/women sizing (since it’s pretty much a US thing) it’s all in generic/male’s sizing. I’m French and they fit exactly like my regular Adidas shoes (bought them all in men’s sizing). I’m a 40 2/3 - 7 UK -7,5 US. So I guess you would need to size down twice and order a 7 US - 6.5 UK - 40 FR. They fit true to size. Hope it helps! :)
Hi Chistel and welcome to the channel! I love the silver! It’s just weird for me because my Superstars (regular) and these are marked as the exact same US size but the Euro sizes are different, significantly!

ShadeTV Yes that’s what I tried to explain. In the US you do have different sizing for men and women. But in UK and FR, we use the same sizing for men and women. Adidas generally bother doing these different sizing for the US market so your regular Adidas are probably 8 US in women’s size. I think Prada just decided to go with the generic /men size because this is a limited edition. So you would not be 8 US but 7 US which should be the men’s sizing equivalent to 8. In general, try to check on the UK size when ordering!
Im a 8.5/9 women’s though. I was using my regular superstars as a guide from the store but they didn’t relay the euro size to me. Usually I go with Euro sizing and even then I am different between Nike, Adidas (and even within Adidas, with Yeezy)
Im usually a 7.5 men’s in all shoes (40.5 EU) except for Yeezy
I wish I knew. My Size 8 US Superstar is 6.5 UK but the 8 Prada Superstar is a 7.5 UK. Crazy! I wish they could have been more consistent!

I like em. I always have at least 2 pairs of superstars on ice at any given moment. So o really like the look of superstars. I lile them cause they're kind of a subtle flex.
This shoe is absolutely a subtle flex - people that call it lazy often times don’t know what a subtle flex is😊🤷🏽♀️

Most people hating on it are those that don’t think the design justifies the price...but that would be a fundamental misunderstanding of what Prada is about (minimalism, quality). Anyone that’s had a pair of Prada sneakers knows how much the shoes can cost...so here you have a limited collab with Adidas but constructed by Prada...it’s a no brainer if you’re a Prada fan!

Which one is bette dio Nike vs Prada adidas ? Quality
Which Nike? Regular Jordans etc? Leather is far better on the Prada x Adidas Superstars than any of the mainstream Jordan releases except maybe the Dior x Jordan...it’s close!

It’s close in leather quality but there are other more complicated elements in the Dior - like the oblique swoosh and the subtle detail of the monogram on the tongue
Whether those differences are worth 4x the price to you, is a decision only you can make yourself 😊

No shade to the materials,shape and quality on these. But there is a similar Adidas that I’ve been eyeing for a bit. The Y-3 Hicho to me has more of a “designer” look to it, and costs a couple hundred less than these 👀

Good video! I see what you are saying, but to me...the high quality leather and assembly is a given from a fashion house like Prada. I expected a little more in regards to Prada design. Dior's view much better. From more than 5 feet away, they look like normal superstars.
The price of these are actually lower than their standard driver / America’s Cup shoes...and they’re also a minimalist house (as opposed to say Dolce & Gabbana or Versace). I think the Diors are better done but they’re also 4x the price...so to each their own

To be honest looking at them on video or through a picture I understand why ppl would think it was a “lazy” collab but in hand I bet It’s a complete 180 because of the top end materials used on such an iconic adidas but unfortunately these were to rich for my blood so it was a pass. One of these days.
That’s exactly it. People LOVE to hate just off photos and price points - the real laziness is not understanding why something is priced the way that it is and the moment you have them in hand you can see why...and then it becomes subjective for each person 😊

Easy pass for me. Sure the leather is better. But not 500 dollars better. What you have to understand is that even the higher quality sneakers cost like 10 dollars to make. Plus even though the quality is better it won’t elevate your outfit more than the original. Even with a Prada on the side.
To each their own. This is actually cheaper than a standard Prada leather racer / America’s Cup (not that much cheaper but still cheaper) and tbh, I prefer these over any of their top selling sneaks 😂
There’s definitely still a margin to be made but I would venture and say these cost more than $10 to make 😊

Your OGs are women US sizes and the Prada’s are Men US sizes, that’s why the Prada’s are bigger. Just get your correct UK size then they should fit you since UK sizing are the same for both men’s and women’s

I’m into high fashion, like Craig Green, Rick Owens, Guidi, Carol Christian Poell, and especially Raf. These are honestly not good. Yes, they are elevated takes on the classic silhouette. But borrowing a last is much much cheaper than creating a new one. Not only that, but the outsole isn’t a new mold either. The leather is also more than likely chrome tanned. It’s literally just a remaster. Nothing new, nothing innovated. Not saying it’s wrong to like an elevated product and you have every reason to like these and it must be great to see something so sentimental to you be given an elevated treatment. Art to few, lazy to others.
Elevated takes at a lower price point than standard Prada racers / America’s cup shoes that they make at their other factories. It’s definitely priced like a borrowed mold, $525 in this segment after all is a bargain (especially vs Rick Owens namesake line who likes to price his sneakers at ultimately higher price levels only to see channel discounting twice a year) to their more intrinsic value...
These at $525 vs a Rick Owens x Adidas Level Runner with the launch price at $890 is a bargain...and it’s a bargain compared to the standard $600 Prada price point for what (I) prefer in a silhouette which, is probably what the bean counters identified when going forward with the shoe 😊
But to get 3 colors of these vs my Dior Lows it’s all a trade off, subjective and to each their own!
