Super Fast Gold Recovery With The Rotapan Gold Machine

  • We got our hands on a Rotapan Gold Machine to try out at the creek. Being an older piece of equipment we have never gotten around to using one and we are glad we did. With the creek flooding and the high dirty water it was an excellent way to work some gravels that were newly exposed. The Rotapan made quick work of the clay and black sands. We are looking forward to taking it back to the creek and find some more shinny.
Cheers for watching and we hope you enjoy.

I'm not sure if I missed it, but I have a Rotapan, and the instructions say after doing the jiggy jiggy back and forth, your supposed to give it a complete 360° spin so that the sweeper bars underneath can get rid of the excess materials in the catch pan.
I love my Rotapan, it's my go to piece of kit when I'm out panning and prospecting. It may have been a bit pricey, but it made all my money back the first weekend I took it into the field.
I'm a pretty darn good & fast panner, but the Rotapan is even faster.
    Cheers. 👋🇨🇦

@@fishmut, well being where the gold is, I would think that would be kind of obvious, especially if I was able to pay for my Rotapan in a weekend. I've been panning for gold since I was five years old, well before the advent of the plastic gold pan, and I've own my claims since 1980, when gold was sub 500 dollars.
My metal detector on the other hand still owes me money.

Obviously a rich gold area but just a few feet can mean good or great finds. Beginning and end of inside bend are best. The black sand indicates where to dig. A small clean out sluice using buckets of water should probably even catch the specks without too much extra equipment to carry. You can't beat some type of sluice for catching gold. That's how mother nature does it in the streams which are natural sluices.

Theoretically, you can keep shoveling into the Rota-Pan until the basin fills with gold, displacing all the lighter sand/gravel. You should dump your catch bucket 5-10 times at least before panning the Rota. No matter how mm any shovels you put in the Rota, you will have the same amount of cons to pan.

Been thinking about getting one for myself as last year they the doctors put a heap of mess in my stomach to keep everything in place. The worst thing is can't bend down to pan much without reflux and pain.
