If I had to name 4 foods to get in your meals most days to support your gut, heart, brain and reduce your risk of disease…what would they be?
To me, they are my daily BBGS - Beans, berries, greens and seeds.
Todays podcast is a deep dive into the observational and interventional studies looking at these powerful additions to our diet.
You’ll get to know the doses, and how to consume them everyday and hopefully this is a nudge in the right direction for you and your family members to look after your health.

My husband suffered a severe traumatic brain injury in December 2023, was in intensive care, hospital and brain injury unit for 47 days. We were eating whole nuts, berries and seeds in our kefir for breakfast and trying to eat 30 different plants a week before his accident and also took D3 & K2 supplements which restarted once he came home. I am convinced eating like this has speeded his recovery. He is now back part time at his work already. Do you agree? Have any studies been done on brain injury and nutrition?
Excellent information and very well presented too! I'm definitely going to include more of these foods in my diet. Thank you Dr Rupy for all that you are doing to improve people's health. I now have a subscription to Exhale coffee after your recommendation, they are a fab company and their decaf is so good, tastes just like real coffee. Thanks again.
Dr said 100g of beans. Is it cooked ? How many cups is 100 g of cooked bean? One cup?
I love this channel. It is respectful to the viewers and it is relaxing to watch.
Love the way you explain things. Thank you!! I am making a vegetable souo with Heaps of beans. With roasted Parmesan crutons. Yummm 🥣
You have reached your peak with this video
I love your videos! So informative, so well put! Thank you so much!
Hi, Absolutely love the Pod, adverts not withstanding! New to your CZcams channel though.
As a T2 Diabetic the dietary advice has been invaluable. I have one question though.
Oats, for a diabetic, good or bad?
Do the benefits, cholesterol lowering, high fibre, satiating, blood pressure lowering, etc, outweigh the fact that they are a carbohydrate and therefore cause a blood glucose spoke?
Really hope you see this.
Take care and thanks for the brilliant advice.
Cheers
Nick
Before you over do these 4 recommended categories of "healthy superfoods," read......

How about “oxalate overload” overload.

Loved this episode. What do you think about also including fermented foods?
All my fav foods ❤ thank you
Dr. Rupy please do a video about oxalates
Can you get everything you need from greens supplements like AG1 and/or the huel daily greens?
Also, will dried cranberries/blueberries do the trick?
Great video ❤ I eat beans every day, a variety.
Sadly I have IBS and can’t eat any legumes without consequences. Enuf said!
You mentioned choosing jarred beans rather than canned where possible, what is your opinion on cans such as Mr organic which has a BPA free lining?
You didn't mention dark chocolate! The most important nutrient in the known universe.
Full of nasties
how about things like kefir
Kimchee is fermented and made with nappa cabbage. It has many health benefits. It is quite delicious. It is far cry from tasting like dirty socks. Worth giving it a try.
I love Natto!
Peanuts are legumes, are they also beneficial, please, apart from the protein they contain?
Olive oil 😊
Legumes have protein, but not a significant amount. Beans are 75% carbs.
Are beans a complete protein or should you consume them with something else to make them a complete protein? Other than just quinoa?
so when a researcher says 'associated with lower mortality' what stretch of time is commonly being referred to?
Palestinians eat a dish called foul for breakfast, made with fava beans. It is excellent!
PLEASE give idea of what 130 grams is.
Approximately 4 ounces or 1/2 cup
Google it.
Are canned baked beans (like Heinz) healthy?
Sugar will be an issue!!
Better than no beans
Beans with no other ingredients are healthy. Beans whose second ingredient is sugar are not healthy.
Make your own. Easy. Check out Martha Stewart’s recipe.

There are many issues with the US education system, as there are with all education systems. However, one thing that the US education system absolutely engrained into my brain, say it with me everyone... THE MITOCHONDRIA IS THE POWERHOUSE OF THE CELL.
🤣😂🤣
beans are horrible for you lololol!
The side effects are embarrassing…is it methane that people produce? 🥴 Guess I’m missing the “machinery” to be able to digest without this issue.
