There is no way someone made it through this in one life. We used to own this machine and I never made it past the 5th stage. This machine is merciless and frustrating!
The intro music for Roy Knife goes right into that theme and I've been in love with the combination ever since I first heard it in the arcade, so many years ago.
Engrish everywhere in the ending! And "Capcom's Next Exciting Game" would be "Section Z". And then they followed this with their home console debut; "1942" on the Famicom/NES.
Note Los Pubro doesn't have the missing eye. That was added in the NES version, when they redesigned The Wingates, and gave them a new Wanted poster. Also, Master became Bandit Bill, Wolf Chief became Devil Hawk, and Fat Man became Fat Man Joe. They, along with Cutter and Ninja, also got new looks in the NES version.
I finished this game on one quarter. And yes I am proud of it. Took me a couple years of going to Round Table Pizza. Memorized the game. That's how you do it. Insane...but one of my best accolades in gaming.
@@guilhermegmoreir Arcade is much more intense than the Nes version, also it is much more rewarding and fun finishing this one than the Nes Gun.Smoke. I think the music is better aswell. I still really like Gun.Smoke on the Nes, but the Arcade is better.
It's almost as tho they intended it to be the final round. And then, later, added the 4 other rounds. The arcade cabinet that i own has the us set 2 circuit board. Which has the indian stage in round 3 and ninja in round 6. All of the GS circuit boards have an 11th round and boss programmed on them. They simply go unused. Could you imagine another round on this game?
There was a trick a bit difficult to pull but if you were able to somehow push the Chief Wolf up out of the screen the battle was over even if he had some HP left.
Y mi eterno karma, nunca me lo pude acabar junto con Ghost' N Gobblins. En los 80's ya habían personas tremendamente hábiles con esos juegos y se los acababan apenas perdiendo una vida.
IIRC there was an arcade version of this (maybe bootleg/hacked) which had a button configuration (3 or 4) which allowed you to shoot in two different directions at the same time. edit: this flyer shows how to use the 3 buttons to do the 6 different types of shots: flyers.arcade-museum.com/?page=flyer&db=videodb&id=1678&image=2
@Sean Wilkinson I refer to it as Gun dot Smoke and assume that its for copyright purposes but how in the hell did they get away with that? It would be like if I made a game about a meth dealer and named it Breaking.Bad. No way that would fly today
The intro is awesome! If they do a “Gunsmoke” movie (based off of the TV show), they should use the music on the trailer. Maybe even the beginning of the movie.
+Mizael Maia Yes, I know that. I did that in response to people who say their names are "Pig Joe Dynamite" (when it is just "Pig Joe") or "Ninja Darts" (when it is just "Ninja").
Well, Pig Joe Dynamite is either one of the best outlaw names I've ever heard, or one of the worst typos I've ever seen. I'm not certain which. By the way I vaguely remember a TV show called Gunsmoke, was this intended to be related by chance, or am I misremembering the name of the show?
There was an alternate U.S. version, in which the boss rundown at the start was removed. And Rounds 3 and 6 and were swapped. As if the game wasn't hard enough already!

For some reason, the sound effects for picking up items in Round 6 changes. After that, they change back. Also, I thought the idea of multiple win themes for the bosses was very unique for 1985 in music in gaming.
I've never seen this before. I have the NES version from my childhood and have played it through several times. The graphics and music in this are indeed awesome and levels seem a bit different with rivers etc. Those sound effects (guns) sound really lame though, compared to NES.
He will die again. Shoot him 256 times. No bullshit. I own the cabinet. If your horse has taken zero hits. The 1st time u touch him. It will only turn your horse to the flashing mode. So, u can kill him again. Run him over again (horse will die this time) and he will come back to life again. Shoot him another 256 times. He'll die again. 516 shots. 3 deaths. I need to do this and record it and post it
@@matthewbruveris680 thx. I just wanna post a video of it anyway. I am attempting to get on the world record board, so i need to record my play. I can achieve 1.6 mil. Thats about # 3 or 4. World record is 2.2 mil. Not sure how the hell that guy did that?

Ohhhh, so the game does allow you to shoot from any direction. My playthrough was frustrating as he seemed to fire his gun only at a directional angle. I guess I should've pressed more than one button.
There would be no 'Red Dead' without 'Gun.Smoke'. 'Red Dead Revolver', also made by CAPCOM, was created as the successor to 'Gun.Smoke' before Rockstar purchased the intellectual property. So, while you're riding the western landscape with Dutch's gang, remember that Master, Roy, Ninja, Cutter, Pig Joe, Wolf Chief, Goldsmith, Los Pubro, Fat Man, and the Wingate Family were the original "outlaws to the end".

True. However it does reward you with 1000 points. When going for a high score record, it's worth picking them up near the end of round 10.
Sickening hard game. Played this for the first time when I was around 4
The BGM in this game is some of the best that ever came out of Capcom's studios from that era.

Round 3- boss: Ryu Hayabusa
wii1245 Why is there a ninja in the old West? During the 1800s, there was the Bakumatsu in Japan, so a samurai would have made more sense.
Edward Gaines The Japanese made the game so they probably wanted to throw a random eastern character in there for fun.

Miss this game but looks like fun and cool. Reminds me Of commandos
The best part of this has to be the music. So 1942 esque.
It was from Capcom, you know.
For the record, the bosses are listed by their name, their weapon, and their reward. So in short, it's not "Master Winchester"; it's just "Master".
