Actually onion and garlic are considered tamsik food. They thus have a negative influence on spiritual practices, meditation and mindfulness. Thus to mantain a calm and pure state of mind you should avoid them. Also we do not kill any being for our food and thus some non vegetarian people say that plants are living beings so you eat them but actually we eat the by products of plants which are fruits and veges (except onion garlic). Hence we don't take the "life" of the plant and it's still grounded to the earth but onion and garlic plants are just pulled out of the earth, just killing the whole plant. I hope you get it.

So, after reading all the comments on onion and garlic i got confused wheather i wear kanthi or not but now i have. So i live in a family where all family members eat onion and garlic and sometimes my father eats meat to but i didn't even touch or try to see it. So my concern is only that I don't want to force my mother to make food without onion and garlic also I'm not be able to cook obviously cos of studies what can i do now

I have recently passed 12th class and I am staying in a hostel for my college studies. There is onion and garlic in the food here. And I have a problem of BP low, so the doctors tell me to drink coffee. But i want to wear kanthi, what should i do?

Allow but still I wear kanthi Mala... u have to follow.. 4 regulative principles.....only..& promise tulsi maiya that we will leave as soon as... we will get chance.... & she will only help.. after wearing.. 🙏

So, after reading all the comments on onion and garlic i got confused wheather i wear kanthi or not but now i have. So i live in a family where all family members eat onion and garlic and sometimes my father eats meat to but i didn't even touch or try to see it. So my concern is only that I don't want to force my mother to make food without onion and garlic also I'm not be able to cook obviously cos of studies what can i do now

hii someone pls tell me what to do i wore tulsi mala since birth i'm vegetarian. as i wore tulsi mala i stopped eating onion garlic but onion garlic is literally every where.
in super market check all food ingredients every where onion powder, garlic powder and not just super market i went for presenting a research paper they arranged lunch and there also onion, garlic in all food . i didn't had anything to eat. all my family are working ppl so food pe zyada dhyan nhi reheta my family eats onion, garlic and i had to avoid all such food my bp became 60 and got fever etc. all are scolding me that im not eating and as a science student i have lot of work but i love krishna i want to wear tulsi maala i wore without even thinking knowing after wearing i got to know rules. but really i have immense love for kanha.. how should i carry this forward? food with out onion , garlic is very difficult esepecially in hyderabad.
