Im the first to admit im not the biggest Kurt fan, but I did notice he handled himself really well in the question before Pockrass. Obviously frustrated, but did a good job, then came Pockrass...
I still have respect for Kurt Busch, and I've recently gained respect for Kyle, too. Guys like the Busch brothers, Harvick, Edwards, Keselowski, and even Danica Patrick that are keeping the sport alive 'cause they show emotion. They show that there is no tomorrow to win a race. You can't just say, "Oh, I lost the Daytona 500, but I'll come back tomorrow and win it." It's guys like Jimmie Johnson I can't stand 'cause they have no personality.
@@SamuelLiu2001 This is a comment (the one you replied to) that hasn't aged well, but yes. Hamlin is a very charismatic personality. Not a fan, but NASCAR needs a big "heel" driver. I also have since learned to respect Jimmie Johnson and his talent, though I still stand by my beliefs on the Playoffs/Chase.

Bob is still a slimeball. When it was announced Kenseth was a HOF nominee, he immediately brought up the incident with Logano being a hindrance on his chances on making it in just to stir things up.
I think if you're going to have anybody analyze what Kurt Busch did & said, the two people at the top of my list to not give their opinion would be Kenny Wallace & Kyle Petty. They need to accomplish something first
Kurt shouldn't have said what he said, but I don't blame him for being annoyed at that question. You could just hear it in Pockrass' voice that he knew he was asking a completely stupid question and Kurt let him know it. I think Kurt is misunderstood. He does have anger issues, but he keeps trying to come back from what he's done in the past. I've definitely become a fan and I hop he gets back to victory lane this year!
God forbid we have a driver that isn't a fucking clone of the other 42. I'll be the first to say it. I'm down with the Busch Bros. They just don't give a shit, and in the end that's what the sport was built on. Now it's all clean cut, and they keep fucking with the rules. NASCAR needs guys like this, like Kyle Busch, like Tony Stewart. It helps differentiate between JJ, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, and all the other bland drones that we call drivers.
Jeff Gordon, a bland drone? We must be seeing two different Jeff Gordons, because the one I see loves winning more than any other driver out there and is always excited to have his family at the track with him
Personally i might have punch him myself. Very asinine question fulling intending to try and provoke a angry reaction. Actually was poking at the bear.
I do agree with kurt here though. It was bs. I wouldnt of answered that question either. Bob was lookin to stir the pot. But damage was done before this an kurt should of worded stuff differently. He should of said, im.not interested that question.
Kurt is 100% right on this. The reporter was clearly trying to antagonize Kurt. The reporter need to show some courtesy as well, after a long hard drive at that race track nobody wants to be antagonized with that type of question.
I'm a big Keselowski fan and I became a fan when he put Edwards in the fence at Talladega. I just liked the fact that a rookie came into the cup scene and stood his ground. I say we let the drivers settle their own problems. We don't need the "officials" telling them what to do, most of them have never even raced anything, so who are they to tell drivers to control their emotions?
Compared to how he was earlier in his career, this was very mild. Kurt was asked a stupid question, so I don’t blame him for how he reacted here. He has matured big time since his time at Penske!
I hate when people who just watch the coverage of Kurt that the media shows him in a negative light sit there and Judge Kurt. He's isn't a bad person, most people that aren't fond of him and meet him actually admit that's he's really nice. If you'd watch more of the other coverage they show of him, rather then just watch the negative you'd see that people say he's only like that to the media, that's it. He doesn't like the media, he's just gotta learn to do what Kyle's started doing.
Perfectly legitimate question that deserves a legitimate answer. Busch really needs to grow a thicker skin. Dealing with the media is part of a driver's job description, not an extracurricular activity.
One more thing. Why exactly is the media immune from getting backlash from the drivers? They certainly don't give a shit about the drivers when they ask them these types of questions, and we're just supposed to expect these guys to just take it? If this is what the sport is now, where a guy gets punished for telling a reporter he's a jackass, I don't know if I want to watch anymore.
I totally agree the media always does this crap. I don't even like nascar but I'll watch Kurt Busch race for now on. Why should he hide his emotions you want to ask him dumb questions ur gonna get it back. Like what that one reporter did to Pete Rose reporters need to know what there talking about before they speak
Why doesn't NASCAR have a big boxing ring in the infield right by the start finish line? With two giant pairs of boxing gloves? Where the 2nd and 3rd place guys that wrecked out trying to win can settle their grudge. Or anyone that had an issue the week prior can settle it in the ring before the next race and then there will not be as many issues on the track. It's less dangerous that way. Plus, it could make for stellar prerace entertainment. Introduce the drivers that want to duke it out then let them walk down to the ring and settle last week right there in front of the crowd.
Hey Kurt, hate to break it to you but that IS a racing question. Did the fact that you are on probation affect the way you raced out there? That is a legit racing question.
No actually this happens all the time, drivers get old their skills start to diminish. We saw it with Richard Petty, saw it with Dale Earnhardt before he was killed unfortunately, saw it with Dale Jarrett during his years with MWR, starting to see it with Mark Martin but Mark will never retire until he is incapable of driving and I respect him for that, and now we've seen it with Bobby Labonte.
Exactly. The reporters always ask stupid questions. Everyone including that reporter already knew that Kurt is on a magnify glass due to his probation. I would have been upset as well. I guess Kurt should take some tips from Tony Stewart on how to tell off a reporter in a smarter way, but as I said I probably would have been upset enough to curse at a reporter to lol.
I have to disagree with you. The only small fish in this deal is James Finch. All this negative attention Busch is garnishing is not gonna help bring sponsors to the table. Besides, Kurt was already on probation for his issue last year with Dr. Punch and for his issue at Darlington. He's been treading on thin ice for quite some time and Nascar finally put their foot down to get there point across that his behavior is not appropriate. I really hope he can find some help to manage his issues.
I'm not a Kurt Busch fan...but for some reason the coverage has been mostly of him! The rest of the stories are seemingly boring. These media members are LOVING this! It gives them that Shit-Talk they love so much.

I know he's a good driver, but his self-destructive behavior is only going to make things worse. Parking him may be the only way to get through to him, if not, parking him for life may get through to him.
