  • A behind the scenes look at recording motion capture for Star Wars: Heir to the Empire.
This particular scene was from Chapter 16, with Luke in his X-Wing cockpit and I talk through my process, perform the scene and then bring the motion capture data into iClone where the last few corrections are made to hand and head position.

I’m being perfectly honest I never knew that was motion capture. It honestly looks amazing and the detail is phenomenal it shows how much work your really putting into this series.

It's so silly that with current technology you can do such a wonderful animation and bring our beloved characters too life...
I love how much great work you are doing to show people brilliant work of Timothy Zahn.
DMN good job and impressive... most impressive!

Just that little bit of added "animated" movement gave the scene the right touch of motion and live action. Great work as always.

off topic, but you truly do not know what the symbol in that flag stands for, otherwise you wouldn't be proud to flaunt it

@@evilswissy My concern are for the people under the flag. My purpose is to remind folks like you that no matter how bad you paint the nation, politics, or flag, again, it's the people you need to concern yourself with. To look at that flag and make a general swiping judgment is to make yourself as bad as the worst example you can provide.

@@captainspire9094 that's your problem my friend. you just know that flag from what you've been taught it is suppose to represent, not what it really represents. you have been lied to and fooled into believing a false idea, once you can understand that you will not need a flag to carry a nation or a people

I just love your ongoing series! The giant video showcasing the first half of the project is so rewatchable. I can't wait for more! I gave my cousin a copy of the Thrawn Trilogy during Christmas a few months back so he can go down the Legends rabbit hole.

I still think thats really cool. I remember when you first started using the suit in an Imperials video and Lady Vurumi's fingers ( i think it was her) were going freaky just like that haha. You certainly improved with it since then. One thing for future reference, there are no buttons that Luke could reach in his x-wing right above his head there, its just canopy glass. The back edge of the canopy frame is well behind the pilots head. There is though a canopy frame lever and buttons on the right side that Luke used a lot in the films. You can see him use it well in this footage czcams.com/video/rrc7_gwLXa8/video.html again awesome to see how you make your htte scenes.
