I have huge respect for the drummer.
The chorus is "Hail to the king" but in reverse. Around this time a year they get together in some house near a lake to remember Jimmy, sometimes they create magic. One year they played "Hail to the king" in reverse and that became Shepherd of fire. Funny thing is that on the album, "Shepherd of fire" is the next song after "Hail to the king".

This song had one of the first solos I ever heard and this song was in BO2 zombies map it has been so long all I remember is the big robots from the map
Their best opening track behind Beast and the Harlot, imo.
I think critical acclaim is also a better opener, also nightmare and the stage you can make a good argument for, they usually have really strong openers.
My favourite from Hail To The King album - each album is different and HTTK doesn’t get enough credit. My favourite albums by Avenged Sevenfold are Waking The Fallen, The White Album and Nightmare

Yo I'm a die hard A7X fan and this album is GREAT! Drums are a bit too simple but they work with the songs so well

So many people slept on this album. The sound is awesome. The duel guitar, heavy drums strong vocals. It’s sound you can’t achieve in a 3 or 4 piece band. Gives it this full sound, it’s an eargasim. It transcends genres.

This song is all about the heavy brass horns adding a ton of depth to the overall tone of the song.

The instrumentals in that song are legendary. The lyrics are crazy but awesome as well. It was because of The Rev that they made that song and it's a masterpiece.

Arin is an average drummer at best but they upgraded with Brooks Wackerman for the last album and even though he comes from punk rock roots, he’s an incredible drummer.
Lars is an average drummer too, but his drumming is one of the aspects that makes Metallica legendary
