    So correct me if I’m wrong, but the title of this video says how to tell the difference between the different pumps and I don’t think that was really explained. My apologies if I’m making myself look foolish by asking this question.

    I have a small well we use to water our garden. Do you have instructions on how to properly prime, start, and shutoff? I don't want to burn out my motor by not pulling enough water or pushing water without opening the valve.

    hola Amigo! What is the difference of using a submersible pump, with an iron, stainless steel, aluminum or plastic body

    • @PowerEquipmentDirect
      @PowerEquipmentDirect  Před rokem +1

      It mostly has to do with the environment and application the pump is working in. Cast iron is most popular, but will corrode over time, however that corrosion will not typically affect the operation of the pump. Stainless steel and aluminum tend to resist rust pretty well and handle salt mixtures a bit better, and the aluminum bodies also tend to dissipate heat better. Plastic tends to resist just about anything but can be easily damaged.

    Hello. I have a ST1102 we’ll head on my shallow well. I’m needing more water so I’m thinking of increasing it to a 2hp motor. Any instructions on the installation process.

      @PowerEquipmentDirect  Před 2 lety

      Hello, the ST1102 is a model# for the motor and does not provide any specs for the pump. We would need to know all the well specs (Well depth, static water level, max draw-down, depth the draw pipe is set to, distance and lift from the well to the pump and from the pump to the point of use, all piping diameter and GPM & PSI requirements) in order to answer. If you can get this information for us, please give us a call and we can help you better. 1 (888) 455-4682.

    i HAVE A HOME WITH A 15 FOOT DUG WELL. THE JET PUMP IS IN THE HOUSE. IT'S 20 PLUS YEARS OLD. NOISEY AS HELL. I'D LIKE TO PUT A SUBMERSIBLE IN THE WELL. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS. I'M EAST OF TORONTO, CANADA.

    • @PowerEquipmentDirect

      That would depend on the amount of water in that well, the health and capacity of that well, your needs and a few other factors. Unfortunately, we only ship orders within the Continental United States as well. But if you feel the well can support your requirements and you have a good 10 feet of water at all times in that well, you might be able to make it work for you, but you might consult with a local certified plumber or well company. It’s also possible that pump is just old and has a lot of corrosion in the motor that is making the noise. You might also consider swapping it out with a new pump (same specs) and installing the proper pump housing to protect it from the elements if it’s installed outdoors.

    I have a 120" well 2" in diameter. I have a depth of 100" of water.
    Do you think it will carry a 67gph pump? 1 1/4" intake 1" return. Thanks

    can I change my submersible to shallow pump?

    • @PowerEquipmentDirect
      @PowerEquipmentDirect  Před rokem

      That would depend on the depth of your well, how far down you hit water, if that water level drops when pumping and if so, how much, well casing diameter and a few other factors. This Article might help to explain how shallow well pumps work (www.waterpumpsdirect.com/stories/274-How-to-Pick-the-Perfect-Well-Pump.html). If you have any other questions, please give us a call!

    Im about to change out a 1/2 hp myers pump with a 1 hp pump and a larger 30 gallon pressurized tank,,existing water lines look like 1/2 coming out of water tank and maybe 3/4 coming from house,,,existing pump has 1 inch inlet and new pump has 1 1/4 inch..can i use existing set up by using some reducers to avoid having to dig up and replace existing water line to house,,in a perfect world id like larger water line as we have always had little pressure,,any tips would be appreciated,,also i have never replaced a pump but i am 66 and am a pretty good mechanic and mr fix it,,plumbing is something i try to stay away from but after getting 400-650 quotes for someone to come and replace pump and tank seems ridiculous,,,pump is houses inside a large storage building i built last year so no cramped quarters to deal with still plumbers want too much money,,also since well setup is 30 years old should i think about repalcing foot valve,,didnt consider ever having to replace valve when i built roof over pump but id only have to take off a couple sheets of tin to be able to remove pipe foot valve is connected to..any tip would help
