I definitely love how youre buying from lesser known brands. Small businesses get overlooked so much and every order can matter so much!
....this older style of clothes is 80% of what i got stuck in growing up because my mom loves it and made them all. The fact that its growing popular again blows my mind, because i was SO not the cool kid growing up, partly because i wasnt wearing the stylish (at the time) clothes. Occasionally other adults would tell me the clothes were beautiful. Usually grandma's. But people my age and my moms age weren't lol
I hated it. I still dont like them. She saved EVERYTHING for the future granddaughter. I keep telling her i dont like them so i dont want to use them. She says fine, she'll use them on grandma days. I gave up and said whatever.
She's "adopted" other little girls from church over the years whose parents do love this older style. Andvmy best friend gas a daughter who had been wraring my old kids clothes for the last several years and has been loving them. So like.. an adopted granddaughter lol. We're surprised her this year with about a dozen homemade outfits she gets to keep. Shes going to be thrilled. Her mom is also thrilled because she has no interest in fashion and this is a side of her daughter she cant really bond over.
My mom used to tell me fashion always circles back around. I didnt believe her. I hated when she called flared jeans bell bottoms. I told her there was no way high waisted pants were ever going to be popular again. I told her smocked dresses and pupped sleeves and dresses with pinafores should stay nack in the 1800 and 1900s where they belong.
Ive eaten my words a lot in the last 10 years 😅😅

Also, we noticed a huge discrepancy in sizes depending on the brand. I thought this was just a juniors and adult clothing thing, but we noticed it right away even in newborn boy clothes. We eventually started not even looking at certain, major brands, because they consistently had sizing that didnt work for our kid. Hes very long and narrow. Carters fit him perfectly every time. Gap and garanimals and a couple others were always wide enough for 2 of him while also being 2 or 3 inches too short.
So it definitely makes sense so me that youre running into the same issue with little girl clothes. And she may have a totally different body type than cole. One of the many things we get to be surprised by once the kids are born! 😂
