    I always wanted a Gretsch hollow body, but will never afford it. Maybe I now have an affordable dream. Love your channel!

      Reverb is your friend. There are two guitar shops in Ukraine that probably have very similar electrics for sale made in Lviv.

    Just found you channel and very happy i did. Liked subbed.
    Super cool video man, thats a beautiful peice of history for $50. And Never knew of the funky ussr era guitars, they look like something out of a back to the future, but not in a good way.

    Thank you Mykola! What configuration are the control knobs? Volume, volume, tone? Volume, tone, tone? Other?? Peace!

      I've ordered near identical. I suspect two tone knobs and pickup selection, since I don't see pickup selection and amps have a volume knob. I've been googling, the hollow body are more subject to feedback problems. I do not understand the Lviv 0 Frets which are identical in every way to the other frets. I've read usual tuning for floating bridge (would be nut) and 12th fret the same if there wasn't a 0 fret. Probably better is 2nd or 3rd fret with 14th or 15th fret. I have similar acoustics by Lviv and they are 24" scale length. There are several red electric on Reverb now, 150 + 80 shipping to USA. I think it best to leave cosmetics alone and go super fussy on frets and action height and intonation. I really got no idea how to deal with 0 fret, those that have them claim to like them, they were in fashion for a while, but it is a minority of manufacturers that build them now.

      Pot closest to center has a capacitor across two legs, so it is a tone control. Two wires from tone control go to output jack. I do not know if wiring is original or correct. I have not checked function yet.

    $50!? It looks like it costs at least $450. I like it, but the output jack is annoying.

    Хотел купить похожую, но чуть старше. Гитара была в идеальном состоянии, но сожалению пришлось отказаться от покупки из-за плавающего строя, вызванного отсутствием анкера.

    Hello and greetings from Finland. Important tecnical question. How is the neck held in place? Is it glued in on held in place with nails??
    No thrus rod of course, how needs those.

    • @DavidBostock-ti2fv
      @DavidBostock-ti2fv Před 6 měsíci

      Similar Lviv acoustics use a single bolt to attach the neck. I've no idea why the very old system isn't far more common.

    You should check out vintage Defil Guitars from PRL (back then, when Poland was comunist) Communist electric guitars where very very simillar. But i think Defils were less ugly than other communist brands. Again, you should check them out :D

    Обзорщик! Чего ты так мучишься, говоря на аглицком языке? Говори на родном! Аглицкий для тебя чужой!!! Акцент такой прет, что не хочется слушать и смотреть!

      О! Так це ж зовсім інша справа!!! А то такі муки терпіти! А ту, чужу, - забудь! Вона не твоя! Будь самим-собою! Нехай вони вивчають нашу рідну! Не ставай перед ними на коліна! Бо наша - сама гарна, сама співуча мова в світі! На цьому все, бувай здоровий!!!
