The thing about Mindy is that she isn't really a medium person. The Good and Bad Places just couldn't decide whether or not she gets credits for the non-profit her sister built, so they came up with a compromise.

So now that we're past the 1x13 event.. I will, while still being intentionally vague, say this; The real strength of this show is that it doesn't hold on to story-beats for any length of time. Honestly season 1 is about as slow as it ever goes, because it was building up to what it was building up to. From here on out we're gna be zooming through plot. An amount of plot that a lesser show would have stretched out to like multiple extra seasons to milk for filler episodes. But TGP just doesn't play that game.
I wouldn't say Eleanor got better just based on how she was acting at the party, i think it was more the fact that she had to make a speech thus she didn't want to get drunk and embarrass herself. If she didn't have to make that speech she'd be getting drunk lmao
