    Great tutorial. I used premade hoochie rig but I might try to make my own. 😀 Thanks for sharing. Subbed 😁👍.

    great video i have just started to tie my own hoochies, what weight is the leader you are using? i have seen others recommending 10 -12 weight mono or flours. any tips?

      That's correct. I use what I have and typically use 10-12lb mono or fluorocarbon. Sometimes I use 14lb if I have it around. I mainly use my hoochies to target kokanee and they are not leader shy, which helps.

    How long is that pre tie leader? How do you attach this leader to main line?

      I usually make my leaders 18 to 24 inches long. I pre tied this leader myself. Check out my "how to" playlist to learn how I tie my leaders. I attach this to a dodger, which is attached to my mainline.

    Where do you get the glow beads?

      Most tackle stores will carry glow beads. The last ones I bought were from Bass Pro Shops in Edmonton.

    What size hooks and hoochies are you using?

    • @FougereFamilyAdventures
      @FougereFamilyAdventures  Před 4 lety

      I am using Size 1 hooks and the hoochies are 2 1/2 inches long. The larger hooks help keep the kokanee on longer (in my opinion)

      Thanks for the reply. I’m going to try hoochies this season, I was thinking I would use smaller hoochies as most of the lakes I fish have a lot of pressure.

      @@captainron9136 that's a great idea. There are smaller hoochies available. Some of the smaller hoochies we use are made by Macks Lure, Paulina Peak Tackle and my favourite smaller ones are from Kokabow Tackle. Sometimes, a smaller presentation is just what a kokanee wants while other times bigger is better. 😊
