    I've read Mitch's book about Amy. He truly tried to help her and Amy went to rehab 3 to 4 times in her life. It didn't work. She was hospitalized many times. It didn't work. They tried to distract her with work so she can have something else to do other than drink everyday and that didn't help either. Amy was the only person that had the power to stop. She just didn't want to do it. It's sad how people blame him on everything. Amy was her own person. No matter how much they tried to help her she couldn't fight it. Addiction took her. As an ex alcoholic too, if my father forced me to go to rehab I would yell against it. The only person that can help yourself is.. well yourself.
    There's no point in pointing fingers around when it comes to addiction. And you can't force an adult to do anything they don't want to do. Because they are adults and they choose to make their own choices in their lives in a way. You can advise them, help them and hope they follow. And Amy died of an accidental alcohol poisoning. I don't know why people forget that. She was clean of drugs. She ALMOST came out of the tunnel of addiction and we lost her to an alcohol slip up. She almost made it. She almost won the battle. And that is tragic. Addiction is tragic. Amy would have hated seeing people judging her father like he's in some sort of court. She loved him a lot.

    It doesn’t matter if it was a reality tv crew, it was still a tv crew. I remember watching the programme he made. It was called my daughter Amy and had nothing to do with anyone else but Amy. At time when she really needed to get away from all that, he shouldn’t have done it. “Amy knew about it” doesn’t mean she was happy about it. She really wasn’t in a healthy place to make decisions anyway.
    Edit: can’t believe he didn’t ask Amy’s permission to bring cameras. Disgraceful.

      Oh dont! He’s a freeloader, taking over his daughters life and money . He wanted to be a singer himself so in a way he’s jealous. Absent father?? You went off when Amy was 10, my parents split when I was the same age and I went off the rails too, luckily I had a decent husband who saved me.. my family however would never sell my personal belongings or exhibit them and use my name to make money, Amy left you her money, how much money do you need? You need to wonder WHY she sabotaged herself? Long before Blake, the problem is staring right at you

    My best friend was working at the Royal Albert Hall a few years ago in production when he did a guest spot and said he was a total bastard and up himself and name dropping every second, to make things worse he was awful and thinks he is Sinatra !!! These are not my words, this is not hearsay but from someone that spent a lot of time around him in that arena ! Tragic really as he could have been different

    If he was such a good father then why did she marry Blake (who she depended on & got her hooked on drugs). Any woman with a great father presence or great father figure presence would would know how to be strong and find themselves a caring & genuine man.

He explains that it was edited and misleading by the director,secondly I know Mitch and he did everything he could to support Amy,she wasn't this naive,easily manipulated person,she was strong willed, wouldn't listen to advice,she made some very bad choices,but her father & her mother were there for her whenever she needed.

    He says "they portrayed me as an absent father" - in Amy's own words in the film she says "my dad was never there" - that wasn't clever editing. I saw his documentary which wasn't at all about dealing with drug addiction, it was all about HIM. When he was packing for St. Lucia he says "we've got business to discuss, the next album, the next tour..." what about Amy's drug addiction Mitch? When Amy tells him she doesn't want to do shows, he forces her to. He doesn't like the film because it portrays him exactly as he is which is an opportunist, he's now announced that Reg Travis and himself are making a new film about Amy - cashing in yet again! I have it on good authority that he used to call paparazzi firms letting them know where Amy was. When his daughter was a crack addict he was too busy releasing his own album! "through MY book and through MY foundation I've raised over X amount of money" - ME ME ME ME "I did hours and hours and hours of taping and you hear my voice 3 times" - that's his issue! He isn't in it enough! This guy enrages me...! Poor Amy, with a dad like that no wonder she turned to drugs.

      Lizzie Edwards i dont think anyone likes to be accused of being a bad parent,do you smoke or drink or do drugs or swear cause if you do any of these things then guess what your a bad parent to if you want to believe the rubbish about amys parents ,and unless we walk in there shoes we cant have an opinion,can you imagine how amy would feel about people attacking her parents ,no!i dont think she would have liked it and the movie ,the people who made money off amys back again ,imagine what kind of man would divorce his wife but then she dies and whats he doing making money off this movie and remember he could have been a decent man to amy finally and said no!let her rest in peace

    • @lizzieedwards652
      @lizzieedwards652 Před 9 lety +3

      benjamin6492 Amy is Resting in Peace. And of course no one wants to be accused of being a bad parent but in my eyes, and many others, Mitch was a bad parent. I smoke and I drink but if I ever got in a situation like Amy's, my parents would help me and force me to go to rehab, not make me go to work. Amy attacked her own father when he brought a camera crew to St. Lucia. She attacked him when she said "my dad was never there". If you're referring to Blake, then you'll notice that I mentioned nothing about him and did not claim that he was a better person than Mitch so not sure what your point is on this? Mitch has made plenty of money off Amy's back; doing deals with Paparazzi firms, releasing his own album, books, reality TV shows and now apparently making his own film. Mitch doesn't like this film because THE TRUTH HURTS. The film was a celebration of Amy's talent as well as a sad tale about addiction and I think Amy would have liked it.

      Lizzie Edwards i understand what your saying but ,ive never had a child who was hooked on heroin coke horse pills whatever else they did luckily so i dont know for sure i could say i could force my kids to go to rehab,her dads problem is he wanted to be a to singer too but that should not be held against him,and i asked my kids if they got popular and made a lot of money would they share that money with myself or other family and they said yes!of course most family take care of there own if they have the means to do it ,im sure amy would have unconditiionally because its the right thing to do,i would if i was rich ,i feel for her family i guess but i do understand how others think too but we are talking amy winehouse ,she looked like she got on just fine with her family or she would have taken all her riches and moved to the u.s.a. or something and lived her life ,she could have ,nobody could have stopped her nothing ,she was a grown woman

    And where's her money now & who has it now? Why didn't they turn Amy's house into a museum ? Is anyone living in her house?
    And her former husband should NOT expect ANY type of Amy's income or anything.
    All he wants is more money

    I like seeing Mitch being vocal about some of the issues, I think he's used the opportunity quite well, why would someone waste the opportunity to help people? My only criticism, could the Amy Winehouse Foundation, as a registered UK charity please publish it's annual account for the last few years publicly?

  • @adamm4062
    @adamm4062 Před 4 lety +6

    Sorry but I've just watched this documentary is talking about and no one is narrating anything on anyone's behalf The quotes come directly from the people. Amy categorically says in her own words he wasn't around when they needed him to support the mother- which they thought he was working late . He even says in his own words, he was having an affair at the time. You can't manipulate, cut or edit direct conversations recorded onto film in order to misrepresent. There is no narrator, he would have to misrepresent himself. He had a platform to speak and he did. I personally felt that he contradicted himself a lot and his words were incongruous with his actions. If he feels that the focus was to negative That's a fair point however that does not make it false or manipulated in the way a narrator or writer would. There is no script they were speaking directly into the camera. And when he turns up on the beach with the camera crew, The look on Amy's face says it all, he proceeds to get The crew to follow them even though Amy clearly states her disapproval. Get a grip man 😂

    I listened to the interview with Amy's first manager and the director of the upcoming movie. I as well read Mitch's book prior, they mentioned often about this "reality" show Mitch was conducting. But after reading Mitch's book about his daughter and his take on him wanting/declining amy to go to rehab I do side with him, and I can easily see how the "interview-ees" could twist his Intensions.

    The film is great. It looks like her father is the only person who has said anything negative about it. Obviously because it makes him look bad. The film has also slowed down his music career substantially, he would likely get booed off the stage if he tried to sing somewhere now.
