This is unrelated but your profile picture reminds me of my favorite prima ballerina: Natalia Osipova.
You are really beautiful!
@@hejhej4441 how nice 😊😊 i did some ballet a few years ago. I will google her 🥰
@@hejhej4441 LOVE HER. She's an amazing ballerina
im a teen and abbey is like a second mom to me. thank you so much for helping me in my journey to a better relationship with food. i always talk about what i learn in your videos with my mom and she loves you too!! xx
Aw thank you so much! So glad it's helpful ❤️
i’m not a teen anymore but i also always talk to my mom about the things i learn from abbey’s video and it’s made such a positive impact!! my mom is t2 diabetic and i’m insulin resistant because of pcos and we’ve both been able to bring down our a1c levels in a way that feels nourishing and satisfying and not at all restrictive which i never thought was possible before 😭
I'm similar to Alisha in that I prefer a lot of smaller snacks and meals compared to fewer larger ones! It works so much better for me
I'm glad that works for you!
That’s not good for your teeth tho
@@kc8724 how is it bad?
Can't relate lol I don't have time to eat so often.
same big meals make me feel sick
hey Abbey, can I just say that your “hunger-crushing combo” that basically pairs a carb with a protein and/or fat for a snack has helped me GREATLY with not only satiation after a snack but also steady energy if I workout afterwards. love it!!
I'm so glad it's helpful for you!!
Yes! Same! Abbey is in my head at snack time

@@mariahn5764 Same! Always

I don't understand why people who "don't do dairy" still take whey protein
Because a lot of whey protein has had the lactose removed so it doesn’t upset their digestive system.
@@Sterling8953 Ah okay. Didn't know that, thank you!
I wish I could do any dairy 😭 rip
i think she used a vegan one. but some dairy is more tolerable than others to some people- a slice of pepper jack cheese will have me nauseous for hours, but greek yogurt is fine for me the body is weird lol
@@Sterling8953 interesting! I wonder if it's something other than the lactose in it for me...I always do pea protein, because I'm lactose intolerant and whey protein has always been a no go
I’m a Canadian living in Denmark and the way cove works is pretty much how the Danish healthcare system works.. instead of going to emerg you call a local healthcare line and speak to a doctor right away and if they think you need to be seen they give you an appointment or if you need a prescription they just put it on your healthcard and you can go pick it up right away. My husband had kidney stones and we were in and out of the hospital (with a ct scan) in less than two hours.
Ayyy fellow Dane here
That sounds amazing. I recently waited about 6 months to get an mri I needed. American healthcare is the bane of my existence
@@Tailynn4 true!
Omg as a Canadian that sounds lovely. I really appreciate our system, but I can see its flaws as well.
But is there a loss of medical history and background that comes with seeing the same doctor over the years? Can you choose your doctor? I have endometriosis and a lot of misinformation exists even within the healthcare industry. If one doctor claimed that lupron would cure my endo (it won't) can I choose to switch and see a doctor who has more up to date information?
I love how open minded and flexible Abby sounds in this video! ❤️ I think some people forget that Abby’s reviews are for the “general public”, not necessarily for the particular person’s diet in the video
Thank you!
I've basically started asking myself if Abbey would approve when I do the bulk of my meal planning and snacking haha. It's definitely helped me make more balanced decisions and combinations!
I'm so glad!
I don’t even know 1/2 the people you discuss!! It is so interesting.
I'm glad you still enjoy them!
Same haha. I don't follow any "influencers" or beauty or fitness youtubers so I rarely know anyone she talks about haha
could you do a video about keeping healthy in college? im a vegetarian with an ed history and im struggling with weight gain
I'll put this topic on the list!
this sounds like my EXACT position! vegetarian freshman in college with history of disordered eating and now have gained quite a bit of weight in the first semester. would love your recommendations!
Same. Would appreciate it.
Same with me! I was able to lose 30 lbs in the past year by creating a routine I knew I could stick to so I wouldn't binge. Intermittent fasting worked really well for me because it is an aspect of my diet I felt I had complete control over. I get most recipe ideas from Tik Tok and Pinterest- but mostly Tik Tok! Additionally, I stopped eating my trigger foods (Mine are ice cream and potato chips) at the beginning of my health journey but now I have them every so often. I also workout 5x a week, mostly to help with my mental health. I find that I can let go of a lot stress with exercise. I like going for walks or doing a dance videos, something relaxing and fun! Working out should feel like me time, not a chore. An important lesson I learned over the year was to let go of the guilt I felt when eating certain foods. Guilt for my ed is a dangerous path, so learning that created the biggest change! Hope this helps!:)
This will be me in 3 years
I find it so weird that all these lifestyle influencers say they're getting the best medical/nutritional advice tailored to them, but they almost ALL end up on diets low in carbs and they cut out as much gluten and sugar as possible. They're clearly just following diet trends.
@@lilly8803 Yes I'm aware but when you even act fearful of fruits high in natural sugars then you're in potentially harmful territory.
@@happytobe_here9483 I’m also fairly sure that intrinsic sugars (like those found in fruit) aren’t counted toward the daily recommended sugar intake, so avoiding fruit makes no sense to me.
Yeah, also it seems that they all go to the same nutritionist (who is apparently the Kardashian's nutritionist) so it might be another reason as to why they all have the same diet lol. I have started seeing a nutritionist myself and she recommends to eat a bit of everything in controlled/reasonable portions and honestly it works way better than avoiding some types of food because this is not sustainable at all.
@@Chocolatepuppy21 Fruit sugar us counted as sugar for diabetics. So I think it counts for everyone else as well. You can subtract the grams of fiber from the net carbohydrate grams to arrive at the amount of carbohydrates the body will be actually processing.
Alisha at this point I believe cut out a lot of coffee because of her anxiety. I think that’s what she meant by a “splurge” or “treat” for the middle of the day.
She also mentions money in that clip. I think she was more talking about how Oatly is expensive and she's using a lot to make that latte.
@@reedsarro2236 lol I love her but Alisha Marie does not worry about money. 😂
Thanks for letting me know!
@@reedsarro2236
I thought that too, like if I'm calling a thing of gelato a splurge it's because of cost. Though the idea of a famous CZcamsr being all that concerned about money can be a bit of a stretch to argue.
You’re one of the only CZcamsrs I’m more than happy to sit through the full adverts for. I absolutely love your content, always chockablock full of amazing educational information and your personality is just beautiful! 💖
I also gained weight on a vegan diet! I gained 30 pounds in my first year as a vegan! However, I was underweight and food restricting before I went vegan, so the weight gain was necessary for my health. I do not weigh myself anymore but I believe I have been at a stable weight for the past few years as a vegan
Same with me! :) I am also eating way more variety and in a less restrictive way than before I was vegan.
@@naomishmueli6935 yes!! I found that I discovered so many new foods

litrrally obsessed with the way u r so respectful but like lowkey shade sometimes. u keep it real. love u abbey!
I always enjoy these reviews! Abbey, you are so loving in how you suggest recommendations and it’s a really thoughtful approach! I like that you always call out the source of where someone might be getting misinformation from rather than attack the person. It’s a helpful reminder to not believe or buy into everything we see and hear.
I'm so glad you find them helpful!
Idk if she meant “splurge” as in the price, or the caffeine because she referenced being gentle with herself/her diet by allowing herself to have “splurges”
Possibly!
Loved this one Abbey!! Really liked the way she's reeled in her diet talk from previous videos too
I'm glad it was helpful!
Omg I have been hoping you would review her for so long! So excited to watch
I hope it's helpful!
Thank you for an actual informative video on a "what I eat in a day" that's not negative at all. This was great and very informative!
Thanks for covering this! Her food on this day was very similar to what I tend to eat, so it was great to hear your analysis of it 🥰
Glad it was helpful!
Love all your videos! Highlight of my day when they post! I learn so much
Thank you! So glad 😊
I really enjoyed this video and the whole take on the metabolism quiz!
I'm glad that was helpful!
I appreciate this video so much, it reassures me that I'm doing things right this time. Before when I would lose weight I was very strict on myself, I wasn't allowed to go over a certain amount of calories, and I eliminated whole food groups. But this time I am eating more calories, and I have more balance with my food choices. I am learning that having grace and losing weight slower will be better than losing it fast but then gaining it all back.
Always excited when I see your notifications! As someone who had a really bad earing disorder for a few years, I find your videos refreshing and I wish I had something like this to watch when I was younger instead of unhealthy diet culture videos xP thank you for making great content! P.S it's also eating disorder awareness week!

Hi Abbey! I love this series and your take on rounding out and balancing each meal. It makes the information so easy to digest (pun intended) and replicate. I think an update on Alisha’s current diet would be amazing!
I prefer the best of both worlds: 3 big meals and a lot of snacking lol

She might have referred to money when she said the latte was a splurge. The cartoon of Oatly is quite pricy and with a cup that large, it makes like three cups 😅
That was exactly my thought. Like some whole foods expensive thing haha.
Yes possibly!

Hi Abbey! I was wondering if you could possibly make a video discussing blood type diets? I've seen more and more TikToks lately of people claiming incredible results by eating according to their blood types. It seems pretty restrictive when I looked up mine (A+) so I'm curious what you have to say from a nutrition background. Keep making the amazing and informative content 🥰
I'll look into this!
I have always had issues.. well obsession with food and being a diabetic (and a little chubster all my life), it has always been an issue. A year ago, I was diagnosed with depressions and prescribed antidepressants. The one side effect of the mediaction is the disappearance of the extreme food cravings. It was very interesting to find out that I used food as a way of deflecting and avoiding what was going on. So I am now navigating through my relationship with food. I have realised that I don't really like a lot of things that I used to binge on... and I was so happy to find this channel because it is helping me manage my relationship with food. Thanks Abby!
Thank you for sharing! I'm so glad the channel is helpful

COVE sounds great in theory, but most migraine medications are mild anti-seizure medications. PLEASE talk to your doctor AT MINIMUM before taking any medication prescribed through COVE. While birth control is fairly safe (not totally safe) to order online from a physician, migraine medications can do permanent damage to you without the proper care. It's a great low cost option if you've ALREADY been evaluated by a neurologist and know how you react to things, but don't go "oh, my headaches suck, maybe I should try COVE." I say all this as someone with migraines who sees the benefit of COVE. Always, always, always be in communication with your PCP about any medication/supplement you take, ESPECIALLY medications that mess with your brain and nervous system.
Yes of course always speak to your doctor to determine the cause of your headaches
@@AbbeysKitchen Thank you, I just wanted to add the comment since I didn't see a disclaimer in the video or description. Neurological medications can give long lasting damage and, even with expert doctors available online, the idea of a "quick fix" for migraines is concerning. Especially in a time where it is harder to see someone in person. People can forget that these physicians are not your PCP and also do not have the same level of liability as your PCP. So if something goes wrong, it's you VS a company. Not you VS a doctor who committed malpractice. It's why online birth control places boldy state that they don't replace medical care. It is only supplementary.
Yes!! My grandmother would have very debilitating migraines most her life and a specialist finally figured out that it was due to extreme tightness in the back of her neck which caused misalignment which caused other things which lead to migraines. A combo of chiropractic care and a small dose muscle relaxant reduced her migraines over 90%. Different things work for different people because migraines are caused by different issues. Finding the cause can be so hard though.
Ugh totally. I have seen so many of these online pharmacy type retailers and it makes me really nervous. For example, there is a product that sells a "UTI Kit" which has a pee stick for testing if you have a UTI (which you are supposed to bring to your doctor...?) and then some expensive magical pain killing pills (the active ingredient is exactly the same as CVS branded stuff). The cute packaging and marketing draws people in but it's a huge waste of money! Not to mention there is no appointment, evaluation of drug interactions or charting. You're SOL if something goes wrong.
@@kirsten9729 Aren't UTI's meant to be treated with ural? I find that useful (I've been to the doctor before)
Thank you soooooo much!

I would love your input on talking to our abuelas about diet culture and weight loss. My great grandma in her late 70s said she's trying to lose 20 lbs and says she's been referencing an old "how to burn belly fat" book and added she thinks sugar is bad and we all should go without any. Yikes! I'm worried about her all alone in quarentine being so hard on herself and her body ):
