I have this lens and use it on my Fuji XT3. It is a stunning lens so long as you use it correctly ! Focus on nearest at 3.5 tilt until farthest is sharp, refocus on nearest check furthest and so on to fine tune. When ready to take photo set f stop to f8 or 11 and make adjustment to shutter speed to get correct exposure. When you have done it a few times it becomes easy to do. Then once image taken just re centre the tilt portion of lens ready for next time. A lot of people have rubbished this lens when actually its their incorrect usage thats the problem

What an excellent video. Not only did it clearly explain how the lens works, with great examples of images, it made me want go out and buy one. (I have been considering it for a long time now). Thanks for posting.

+oc2phish07 With the exception of getting it wrong on the function of the focus ring ( 0:35 ) it was a pretty good instructional. I have one of these lenses and it's tack sharp and has many uses which it does extremely well. For the price you can't go wrong and, if you take architectural pics, it eliminates keystone in camera.

The Samyang has a tiny bit of chromatic aberration and (I think) distortion, but it's ridiculously sharp, very useful and way too cheap for a tilt-shift. If you really need a completely perfect lens with entirely no aberration and entirely no distortion, you can get a Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L, but the improved quality is probably the only improvement and I can't remember if the Canon even has any electronics that tell the camera what lens and aperture is being used.

Like all things in life, it is a trade off. B&H prices the Samyang at $679 and the Canon at $1650. For the individual who makes his bread & butter from architectural photography or any photography which requires the benefits of a TS lens, this may be worth the price. However, the minor CA and barrel distortion can be resolved with any editor in about 15 seconds. Canon lists the focus of their lens as "manual", however the aperture is electronic and there is focus confirmation so there are electrical contacts on the mount.

this is the only video I have found so far that calls this a good lens, and thats probably because its produced by the manufacturer. Research it more folks, it does have a lot of limitations apparently.

I've used both this lens and the Nikon 24mm and I have to say that stopped down to f/8 or f/11 there is no difference in image quality. These lenses are rarely used wide open. The maximum shift on the Samyang does not produce a ridiculous amount of vignetting, unlike the Nikon version which is often unusable at max shift. This lens also is designed to both shift and tilt on the same axis which is not possible on the Nikon 24mm unless expensively modified. There is always a trade off because the build quality is not as robust as the Nikon and the control knobs are a bit small, but I've used this lens in several commercial applications with great success and it has payed for itself many times over.

I own this lens. If you are going to buy one, make sure you're buying it cheap as optically this lens is pretty bad and mechanically rather flimsy.
It's not fit for any serious job as the only acceptable image quality will be produced at apertures f/8 and f/11, at all other settings you will get unsharp images that lack contrast and detail, and if you're at least moderately lucky, you will also get severe flaring every time as there is a light source in the frame.
Mechanically this lens is, as I said, flimsy, the knobs feel too small and locks too weak.
Other than that the lens is great.
I've bought it as a cheap prop to gain skills it tilt-shift photography, and for that purpose it is, I'd say adequate. But for anything else than learning, you'll be way better off with Nikon or Canon lenses.
PS: That's funny, but even in this video at 6:14 when the image from this lens is compared to the software straightened image taken with a normal lens, the normal still looks better. That's how bad this Samyang is.

They are comparing software correction with optical correction using this lens, the optical correction is clearly superior...

So, English-speaking people usually say that the most common use of these lenses is for convergence of lines.... but, this woman says that it's most common use is for miniaturising things. I wonder what they do with bananas where she's from?
