Magic was the "lion" of the NBA, a powerful, skilled "pack hunter" who could pass to almost anyone at any time while still able to end his prey with his own strikes.
MJ was the "cheetah" of the NBA, a quick, sleek, agile 'predator" that took his shots and passes like he was hunting .. on the move without slowing down.
Bird was the "tiger" of the NBA. Not the fastest, not the strongest, but had the ability to literally "hide in plain sight" and strike at anytime, from anywhere, with a ruthless tenacity to stay into the fight as long as possible until the final second.

    Love your channel Cartier Family!
I've been a Lakers fan since 1972 as a 10-year-old in Los Angeles. Magic never took the "me" attitude as Jordan, Dominique, or the other individual star players did. He relished helping the team be the best they could be by feeding them the ball as a point guard should do.
I remember back in the 80s going to The Forum in LA when you could score PLAYOFF tickets just prior to the game for under $50 at a time. We just waited until after tip-off time when the prices would just drop like the stock market. I remember scoring seats just behind the Lakers' goal in the first half. IT WAS AWESOME! Watching Magic leading the fast break toward the basket. You could feel the thunder coming down the floor as they approached the basket. I saw Magic's eyes surveying the court. Worthy on the right wing, and Byron Scott on the left...Magic fed the ball to B and I could see B's eyes just light up when he got the ball and then slammed it home for a score.
    Amazing experience!

@@ronlackey2689 like I said, As a Laker? Kareem had 5 championships and 3 regular season MVPs and 1 Finals MVPs as a Laker. Magic had 5 championships and 3 regular season MVPs and 3 Finals MVPs. I’ve been a Laker fan since the early 70’s and as a kid I did book reports on Kareem. He was my favorite Laker, until Magic came along. Lakers hadn’t won a championship since 72, until Magic came along. Kareem was on the downside of his career by the time Magic came along. Kareem was still a great player, he was just getting older. Kareem played extra years, because his financial advisor stole from him. Otherwise he probably retires around the 86-88 seasons, yes the years they went back to back. By then Kareem was more of a role player, Worthy and Magic were the two carrying the load. To repeat, I said greatest Laker. Career, it’s Kareem. The years in Milwaukee and the first four in LA he put up crazy numbers, but only one championship to show for it. Btw, Milwaukee brought in Oscar Robinson to go with Kareem to win that title in 71. Until Magic, Oscar was the best point guard in NBA history. If you still want to disagree I have no problem, everyone has an opinion. I just want to say, You stayed non Laker stats for your side, when my original statement was greatest Laker.

He didn't spend his whole career there like Magic did, but he is a Laker. If you are going to use Magic's whole body of work you have to use Kareem's whole body of work. They are both the best at their position, and I am ok with you saying Magic is the best Laker. I'll stick with the all time scoring champ Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

The difference between a bird and Magic is the Birds ability to shoot from anywhere on the court. If you compared the two highlight reels. They both are great at passing and and scoring. But the difference is the way they score. Magic scores on close to the basket shot like dunks, layup’s and hook shots. Bird does all that to in his highlight reel but also shoots from anywhere on the court. There is your difference between the two. For that reason Bird is higher on my list than Magic. Both HOF though.

I don't think you can discount the fact that Magic was more durable and reliable than Bird. Bird was great, but he couldn't stay healthy throughout his career. Also, Bird is not playing PG, SG, SF, PF and C in a game like Magic could. Magic could play any position. Scoring is scoring... I don't care if it's an outside shot or a layup. To put more stake in one over the other creates implicit bias.

These mix tapes are great and I can remember most of these games seeing them on TV here in Los Angeles at the time on CH 9 with the great Chick Hearn behind the mic, or at The Fabulous Forum live. I wish you guys could know what each game meant and where some of these spectacular plays came from. Some were last-second buzzer beaters, or simply a regular season game that didn't have a whole lot of importance...But a lot of them? Surely did! The go-ahead hook shot in the 1985 Finals against The Celtics, or his performance in the 1979 Finals against Dr. J and the 76ers when Kareem went down with that ankle injury, the treacherous 1988 season to repeat as NBA champions.
Each playoff series in 1988 took all the 7 game series to their limits. The first round against the Spurs was pretty easy sweeping them 3-0, but the following series went all the way beating a very tough Utah Jazz team in 7 games, then the Dallas Mavericks in another hard fought 7 game series, only to earn the right to play The "Bad Boy" Pistons and taking the NBA championship in another brutal 7 game series. It was exhausting witnessing each series for this Lakers fan since 1972, but for them? I can't imagine what it took to overcome the odds. Each of those 7 game series could have gone to either team if it weren't for the tenacity of the Lakers squad who would eventually win it all that year.
It's one thing to honor a player for his shooting or playing skills, but how about when it really counted? Buzzer beaters, elimination games in the playoffs, games to win the division, etc. Did his efforts lead to an NBA title or an individual accolade?

I've said is in other reactions about who's the GOAT. Here's how I personally see it. Being 59 years old and having watched the game, rules and so forth evolve, I love having the discussion with someone claiming their man is the GOAT. Truth is that there will never be a greatest of "all" time. Each generation has and always will have a select few that are the greats. As physical conditioning, medicines, rules and other things change, the athletes also change. A perfect example is when I hear LJ fans claim he is "THE GOAT", is that as physical as the game was back in the early days he wouldn't survive. Bird could most likely play better during this era than LeBron in Birds era.

The Lakers in the 80's might have been the best fast break squad of all time. They all truly shinned and were great in fast break transition Bball.

A couple things to consider, Magic was a point guard, while Larry a small forward, but could still affect the flow of the game with his play making. This mix tape focuses on his highest strength, his passing and some shooting. Larry was a better shooter and re-bounder and right with Magic in passing, not as flashy. Take a look at just Larry's passing, you mentioned Tom Brady, that label fits Larry to a tee. Watch.......
"Larry Bird Greatest Passer of All Time (Re-edit w/ New Footage)" to expand your knowledge of Bird's all around game.
