@@charlottewhyte9804Hi, yah indeed great days and nostalgia for me. I turned 67 last month. I spoke to Brent Brody sometime back and he told me TVNZ hasn’t got all the episodes anymore. He said NZBC often dubbed over the tapes. At least they have a few though.
Fabulous show. In boarding school they let us sit in the corridors and watch this program which was the highlight of our week. We had an amazing amount of musical talent in NZ in the 60s. Peter Sinclair and the go go girls just made it so exciting to us teens.
My Father made these sets for the NZBC when I was a kid. Met many of these people over the course of the years up until the studios were moved to Avalon.
it only went out live on aktv2 and was taped for showing on the other 3 regional channels, and i think the songs were pre-recorded before the live show aired
Fantastic stuff, NZBC "Studio 1" Shortland Street Studio's, its amazing the quantity & quality of programs produced there over the years, in the cramped rabbit warren it was and the equipment of the time. Pete Sinclair , very hip and professional for the time.
I used to work with one of the Happen Inn dancers, Christine with the long black hair - and she told me when she fell off the back of the stage and they just kept filming! Oh how I wanted to be a Happen Inn dancer, and I even wrote a letter to Peter asking him! Little did I know...
@zsuzsi1954 The Simple Image....played all the time in Wellington in the Caltex Lounge opposite the Taranaki Street Police Station in the late 60's and early 70's....I think...long time ago
@janalyst don't worry about it - this is great and brings back plenty of memories. It is pretty good for 50 odd years old man. Thanks for putting thos on You tube
Technology advances faster than we can adapt to it. My dad is transferring all his old records and tapes to MP3's. I don't know anything about that, and am slowly trying to figure it out, with disasters abounding! Good luck with the conversion.
Can’t find any info on Bronwyn, however I do remember watching all the episodes back in the day. Did she go on to have a career in music. Yes she had a great voice.
This is great stuff. I miss the dynamism of 60's DJs like Peter Sinclair in this clip. What is the title of the background instrumental when Peter Sinclair is speaking? It was also the theme music for the ABC Aussie Rules football show over here in Melbourne in the late 60's.
I taped the full episode of this during the mid 80s when they had the retro 25 yrs of NZ television covering the most part the overseas hits of the day, with a few origs as well all artists lip-synced.Not much of these shows exist now as most of them were wiped, what you see is really all there is now at least regarding C'mon show
Um, we did have some very average acts around then, the Gremlins was a cool ditty though. I think the Move would stop doing so if they heard this version of their classic
Unexpectedly tickled right up front by the cover of “I can hear the grass grow“ by The Move and then the Northern Soul banger just afterwards!
Those were great days for me to see all this. I am 63 now.
Auckland. NZ
i,m 74 only getting it now.

Aas this don in Avalon studios or before all that
Congratulations on reviving these wonderful old memories.
The show to watch 1666-69. This show went out live to all New Zealand.

Couldn't wait for C'Mon to be on tv once a week in the weekend when we only had 1 or 2 channals at the most. Man we were spoilt.
Dancers I remember, meeting Nelson St... Patricia Hodgson, Jill & Suzy Lewington (their mother used to work with me in Henderson).. Great kids..

this footage is from tv show C,Mon 67 and not much footage is left of the entire series most of it wiped
Real groovy man
Love to see it - please upload!!!!!
Great!
the host sounds like a top 40 On-Air personality from the 1960 and 1970s. Very cool
he was NZ DJ/broadcaster Pete Sinclair 1938-2001-according to Pete what he said on the show was all ad-lib
I used to work with one of the Happen Inn dancers, Christine with the long black hair - and she told me when she fell off the back of the stage and they just kept filming! Oh how I wanted to be a Happen Inn dancer, and I even wrote a letter to Peter asking him! Little did I know...
Thanks for that sharing. Appreciate it.
Auckland. John.

Nice clip. This was compulsory viewing back

The band was Simple Image. Wellington based (I think)
More Bronwyn Neil, incredible

Cool :)
I have a clip of The Underdogs 'Sittin in the Rain'. I'll try and upload it sometime. No La De Das or Chants RnB.
Bob Paris is about as exciting as Waikumete Cemetery.
Tony Tai-Holl
I suppose that era was different though.

@alenara33 St Paul - another great song....endorsed by Paul McCartney too
Peter Sinclair was before his time, and makes Ryan Seacrest look 2nd rate
They thought so too at Greenlane hospital when he showed up there with a Marmite Jar lodged firmly in his rectum.
Smash Embro I
It was a Vegemite jar mate, wider berth!
