Watched for the low budget "spy movie" montage at the start of the video.
Stayed to hear the phrase "Ali Mask On" again.
listen here chris...you better make more videos with ryotoro..you 2together are the pinicale of comedy..i know i spelled that wrong but i am too lazy to check.anyway you are both awesome but we need you 2 together i dont give a fuck what you do...sit and drink, brake the law i dont know just do somethinggggg
Don't know whats better. Risotteros Videos or your shitposting in the comments. looking forward to both
I just love the "totally not stolen thumb nail pictures" in the intro, hahah. Sneaky sneaky!
So it's basically confirmed that Ryotaro is the World's Most Interesting Man.
He doesn't always speak English, but when he does, it's in three different accents.
I agree but, I can’t seem to get him to introduce me to any of his “business contacts”.
I think christopher lee still takes the cake but ryotaro is pretty sick too lol
So, Ryotaro successfully managed to pull off a reverse-weeaboo: watched foreign media portraying high school life and went there to experience it. - the one thing every single starry-eyed kid, who wants to go sit to the back of the class next to the window in Japan, gets sternly discouraged from doing.
Respect.
Ryotaro should make Chris The
Movie to help him get famous.
アーチボルドピーター Yes, Abroad in Japan is such an obscure channel, a big channel like Ryotaro’s Japan shouting out would be HUGE for him!
In 10 minutes you've gone from "that guy who drives Chris around and offers funny, sometimes insightful comments" to a well educated, world-traveling polyglot in my mind. You're an impressive man, Ryotaro.
Risottro can you please stop logging into different made up accounts in order to give yourself praise and not appear vain? Thanks.
The fact that you know how to use "whom" correctly means your English skills are better than most native speakers
@@Madhattersinjeans 🤣🤣 Or Ross in Friends 😅😅 Yeah, its use actually depends on the context but I wouldn't say it's necessarily "archaic"
@@adrianamendesporcellato No. Only dumbasses and idiots would say that. Whom is an object, who is a subject. It's pretty simple.
I always wondered why so many native English speakers have a hard time with the easiest language in the world. Don't you learn it in school ? :)
@@sydurgraham7760 I don't quite get the definition of it... can you perhaps simplify it for me?
Chris starves us with breadcrumbs of content, luckily we finally have Ryotaro to expand the Broadverse.
@@RyotarosJapan so his balls must be about the size of the isle of Hokkaido by now. Good, good. Cook up his sarcasm.
Ryotaro's Japan im sorry ryotaro sama i think he meant the Ryotaroverse*
@@mygetawayart yeah this is Ryotaro, pal. Not abroadinjapan. Kind of rude to attach Chris to everything when Ryotaro is trying to put himself out there and create his own content. Don't hang ABiJ over his head like that, man...
He's the real Mr. Worldwide
The minute he spoke Spanish. He gained all my respect
Ryotaro at 15: Went to study abroad, making friends, living life
Me at 15: Watching anime 24/7
@@Madhattersinjeans definitely. Being able to study and work in several countries is a huge sign of privilege
I see Ryotaro, I subscribe.
Who Ryotaro is:
- Part time Assassin.
- Part time Gentleman Spy.
- Part time English.
@@DK-dc8sl I suppose, in the assassination game, you are only as good as your last failed attempt...
Australian Friend: "Yeah, why don't you come over? You know, just come to Australia, come to South Hemisphere!"
The way you said that made it sound hilariously sketchy, like a stranger offering candy out of their van! ^ _ ^
Chris: I'm not making a "Ryotaro the Movie"
Ryotaro: Fine, I'll do it myself
"I've talked too much about myself"
But Ryotaro, that's precisely why I'm here!
He's so sweet when he's not being the super villain of The Chris universe
Me when Ryotato started speaking spanish: WHAT?!?!
Edit: the 61 people who put a thumbs down on this video? Heartless.
I think that now his covert assassination attempts on chris all failed, he's now raising an army to fight him outright
Ryotaro took 2 years to pronounce the letters: *L* & *R*
Me, who remembers that one specific Chris's video: *bLuNcH*
Ryotaro was the reason I started watching abroad in Japan 🤪
The Laurel part killed me 🤣 just imagining a teenaged Ryotaro trying to work through those Ls and Rs. You're adorable!! ❤❤❤
Its really nice just watching ryotoro talking about his life. Really interesting life. Ryotoro really has a lot of different experiences.
0 dislikes with 1000 likes is an achievement Chris couldn’t even make!
Fatima Khan We don’t talk about those; that’s just Chris and his various clone accounts.
You do realize you are going to be in the next hate-comment review right?
I wanted to hear more Spanish from Ryotaro , i'm surprised and very happy that you can also speak Spanish
Omg. I just realized Ryotaro never talked about what he’s doing in Japan right now... I think maybe... he really is a spy.
"Let's not debate about their sausages."
Yeah, I agree, German sausages are the wurst.
Official Aveq nice one, but I seem to remember that he actually favours German sausages ;)
Chris: "You fool! I have 28 alternative accounts!"
THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. I always thought your accent is more Australian than British. It's excellent!
As a Singaporean I have to correct you, we never say "Are you sick lah?" "Lah" will never be used in a question. Instead we say "You sick ah?"
Greetings from Singapore! Great to know our "lahs" are are gaining international prominence! :)
I've actually been to Singapore, beautiful country, loved every minute of it, but for the life of me I could not understand where the 'lah' came from. Mind explaining? You don't have to if it makes you uncomfortable.
@@tigervalley62 It has many nuances, but the two most common is the high, sharp tone which is a declarative similar to Japanese よ or でしょう, and a long low tone which represents a requesting tone (the lower, the more 'pleading' it sounds), similar to 下さい (med-low tone) くれませんか (super low tone).
Always glad to spread the culture! If there's one thing Singaporeans are proud of, its Singlish!
Singlish is the best form of English. I learned my Singlish from PCK and the aunty who ran the warung kopi.
Damn, I am actually quite jealous of him being able to just move to a different country and getting a job pretty much immediately. Especially in countries on different continent.
Hello Ryotaro, my name is Laurel and I lived in Japan for five and a half years. I laughed when I saw your video because I too experienced Japanes people struggle to pronounce my name. I look forward to more of your videos. Good luck with your channel.
I see that Ryotaro has posted a video, I press play. That's how life works. Thank you Chris Broad for introducing me to this fantastically interesting man, not too unlike yourself.
happy to see your channel is working out, Ryotaro! all the best!
It's great to get to know you better, Ryotaro. I love how you teach the phrases at the end. I am already a huge fan.
Ryotaro's origins: *being an Ameriboo.*
Chris Broad: "We're not so different, you and I."
Also, that's some good Spanish you got there! I'm enjoying your output so far, so keep it up.
I did a "wait, what?" immediate turn back to my screen when I heard the Spanish.
Ryotaro is the type of guy to be on the worlds most wanted list for british accent smuggling
Yay I’m glad you started a channel and we can learn about you more!
Very keen for a Ryotaro channel, can't wait to see more videos!
We didn't get a "Ryotaro The Movie", but at least we got a Ryotaro YT channel!
First things first, as a Spanish speaker, i would love to hear you speak it!
Second, it would be nice (speaking for someones that his Japanese isn't that good) for you to explain the variations of this and that according to who the listener and speaker. Besides that, keep up the good work Risottoro!
Thanks for the background info. Answers a lot of questions I had from watching Chris. Good luck
Wow! I had no idea that you’ve had such a worldly and amazing life that’s incredible. I’m really glad we got to hear about your background after seeing you on Chris’ channel for years. Love the video. And super interesting that your English is an amalgamation of three different dialects.
Ah Im always happy to see Japan’s sexiest man now have his own CZcams channel
Keep up the good work Rissotaro! 👍😁
Ryotaro wishes 😂
I may be a card carrying lesbian and therefore not fit to judge.
Sorry Ryotaro but Natsuki melts my Tsundere heart
Akiko Fukuwara Well you see Natsuki is the most loving man in Japan😘 whereas Ryotaro is The sexiest 💦
@Demozo
It means I am so gay I have a membership card to the Lesbian Guild 😅😅
Just my way of saying I'm not really fit to judge if Ryo is hot or not.
I just enjoy his videos. He is always charming and informative.
I'm so happy to see you making your own content !!
EXCELLENT!! Loving that you have your own channel now! Especially since I’ve been learning Japanese, and learning through CZcams videos helps cut the stress of my more rigorous forms of study, so it’s much appreciated!!
La sorpresa más grande que he tenido es saber que momotaro habla español
Yo me gusta la esponal idioma, yo hablar ingles puro querer aprender Japanos tambien, Yo creo que hablar tres idiomas esta muy dificil puro muy bien y vale la pena
Ryotaro teaches the most far-stretched mnemonics and I'm so here for it
I remember reading something that said mnemonics are usually easier to recall when they are bizarre or unusual. Something related to how the brain can more easily recall short vignettes/pictures than it can individual words or concepts
I loved your short summary of where you've lived and learned English. That type of personal experience is why I want to know more and see more from you Ryotoro!
Another great video Ryotaro 👍
I still have a strong Japanese accent and struggle with certain English words.
I can write it really good but my tongue just wont work 😅😅
I have picked up a lot of Scottish slang words which really freaks people out when they hear Scottish slang in a strong Japanese accent.
Cant wait for more vids from you👍👍
I hear ya, I'm Hungarian, used to work with quite a few people from the West Indies. Apparently, "ya man" and "wha' gwan" sounds really funny from a Hungarian ;)
Hey ryotaro! Just wanted to say I really appreciate these mnemonic devices, they've been really helpful in helping me remember thse simple but incredibly useful phrases, keep up good work :)
great way of explaining!! ur so chill I love it
All the best and support ❤️
I want to support all of Chris's friends because you all make amazing things and bring life to AIJ. Good luck I'm sure your channel will become bigger.
After Chris has been riding on your coattails for so long, it's Ryotaro's time to shine!
Thank you for making your CZcams channel Ryotaro love what you do and i hope to Visit Japan myself soon because of You Chris and Natsuki making it extra awesome! best wishes from Me and the UK for your channel to grow bigger keep it up my friend!!
The collaboration between you two is amazing lmao. Love the videos
Omedetou gozaimasu Ryotaro! I love watching Chris’ videos and am happy you have your own channel now. Looking forward to your stories and adventures! 😀 arigatou!
You've got a really crazy traveling background! I hope I'll get the chance to even see half the places you've been to.
On the constructive side though, for your video, be sure to check the sound levels when you're mixing things together, I don't know how in depth you're going with this, or what editing software you use, but there was a moment at 00:48 where the fanfare audio was really loud, and it did drown out your voice. Beyond that I think it was a well put together video!
Hope to see your next video soon, Ryotaro, Thanks for sharing a bit of your history with us!
YT recommends,I Click.
Good to see you, love your chemistry with Chris.😁
You my friend has got a new subscriber ❤️. Thanks to Chris & seeing you in his videos. You're very cool
Hey! This video was released on my birthday! Happy to see you're enjoying your new journey into the CZcams game. I'm fortunate enough to visit Japan quite often, but this quarantine has been a nightmare! Missing my girlfriend, friends, and Japan itself. Watching videos such as yours and many others helps me feel at home again. Keep up the great work, Ryotaro! Stay safe and healthy!
Ryotaro. In Singapore we don’t use “lah” when asking question. The term “lah” come from Malay which is use as polite command, hence pergi lah ! (Just Go!) is translate as ‘go Lah!’ How ever in Singapore it is widely users at the end of sentence for emphasis ‘I don’t know Lah!’ (I just don’t know)
Awesome you are! Excited for more...
Awesomme ... thanks Ryotaro san for starting this channel ...keep it going ...cheers
Well the important thing is that you make Chris's life a living hell and prank the crap out of him. LOL! I love when you just pull random plans on him with no warning or notice. Always a good laugh! You look like you are having hilarious fun! subbed and liked for you!
Yo Ryotaro, love the content. If you are looking to grow the channel/Japanese content you should definitely start a patreon etc where you do put out language content.
I'm Australian and have been learning Japanese seriously for about 18 months and find there's a big lack of native Japanese speakers with good English comprehension especially when it comes to speaking 'natural' Japanese.
I'm sure there would be a lot of people other than myself who would be interested in paying for this type of content.
I’ve just watched both your videos and found them really useful. I’m currently studying Japanese at uni and watching your videos has allowed me to see where I’m going wrong in my pronunciation.
I'm so glad you have your own channel Ryotaro! Congratulations on the new subscribers! :)
i found this channel on a recommendation from youtube, didn't know chris shouted you out XD
Good day, Ryotaro. Greetings from Sydney Australia. I used to work in Hornsby NSW as well. Like your video and keep up the great job.
Let's gooo Ryotaro another video? Wow amazing
So glad to hear about your life, Ryotoro! I’ve been trying to learn a little Japanese from you all (Chris, Sharla, Joey and Aki, Natsuki and you), but you explain things the best! Thanks!
One of the most interesting men in Japan! You've been around so much, it's amazing!
I'd love some stories about your time in Germany! :D
Grüße aus Düsseldorf!
It’s always Chris’ fault
Glad to see you're on your own, brother. Chris is great, and you're great. 😁
Great seeing you with your own channel Ryotaro! Has been interesting to learn a bit about your background. 😊
Hearing Ryotaro speak Spanish brings a Mexican tear to my eye. =')
I never thought that dreams could come true.
Until I saw Ryotaro finally made a channel.
glad to see you’re making videos. Love you Abroad Japan. Im planning a Japan Trip this September and look forward to learning everything I can.
I enjoyed hearing about your life and would enjoy to hear more!
Inspiration to go to America: Footloose and Ferris Beuller
You have good taste, sir
A good phrase to know would be: "I'm lost, where is...?"
Start with the place, for example, convenience store/konbini/コンビニ and then add wa doko desu ka / はどこですか which is how you ask where something is
@@walterwhite7325 Look mr. White, I don't want you to get mad at me and shoot me but that's the normal way to write it, not the Ryotaro way to say it. Thanks anyway.
As I can tell from experience: The problematic part is not the question itself. It's understanding the answer!
This is so blessed and pure, just keep being you!
Real gem across the globe. Really enjoy watching your Own CZcams channel and Chris’s abroad in Japan.
On your own I can hear the Japanese twang but with Chris you bring home the British accent. I recommend that you drink a pint of Ale before recording. Keep up the good work.
I am so glad I saw this in my suggestion box, thank you so much
Enjoyed your video, looking forward to being entertained during your upcoming adventures! Arigatoo!
10 plus points for Ryotaro knowing espanol. Hola from Denver Colorado
Someone: Japanese people are so bad at foreign languages!
Ryotaro: Allow me to introduce myself ;)
Correction “Allow me to introduce myself in multiple languages” XD. But really your comment made me laugh way harder then it should have. Have a nice day Blue Velvet. :D
@@tjthegreat7 Not to offend you or anything, but I'm Japanese myself and I wouldn't say "a lot" of us speak them. Despite the linguistical proximity to each other, we're rather familiar to English vocabularies than those of other languages in Asia.
I just subbed to your channel with Akiusha video. I was always impressed with your English.
As I'm also A Japanese living in the US for 46 years and while every japanese person I meet
(they live in US as well) compliment me on my pronunciation of english as japanese native.
So I've been there like you have gone though..
Now I know why you have an impeccable ability to utilize english and with more british accents
than any english speaking natives outside of UK.
Yes, L, R, TH, F/V all Japanese have trouble with as they don't exist in our language. it took a couple
of years for me to get about 80% of what I hear and say 50% of what I want to express.
You're my hero with your smarts and ability to communicate so so well .
Looking forward to watch more vids from you. Take care & stay safe.
Here before 50k subs! Can't believe I only found out you had a channel! Love who you are man!
Yessss! Loved the shout-out to Dick's Drive-In! Went there many, many times, to that same location, back in the day!
Leave me a phrase that you would like to learn in Japanese and I can bring it up in my next videos!
Also I would love to hear what your most favorite video is in Abroad in Japan.
Ryotaro's Japan How about ‘Do you speak English?’. Love your channel Ryotaro I am learning a lot
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. :)
How would you say 'how do you get to (insert name) place?'
How about, "I'm going to get him" as in your going to pick up your friend.
I'd like to learn how to say "can you please repeat that more slowly."
Also I haven't been watching Chris' videos for that long (although apparently I hadn't subscribed yet, oops XD), but so far I really enjoyed his videos that mention his experience with teaching in Japan as it's something I've been considering doing in the future.
