- Sky News host James Macpherson discusses a social media post made by Australian "breakdancing sensation" Rachael 'Raygun' Gunn.
"Australian breakdancing sensation Rachel Gunn, aka b-girl Raygun, broke her silence about that Olympic, can we call it, performance," Mr Macpherson said.
"I don't know about hate, but she certainly brought a lot of joy.
"I mean, I laughed myself silly over that performance."
That woman and her husband were never told no as kids and their parents thought everything they did was amazing. How embarrassing to score zero and think you deserve support.
I wonder if they have kids... can you imagine the extension they'd have to build on their home for all the participation trophies!!!
I read her bio. Says she danced ballroom, jazz and contemporary since she was a child and then B since 2010. She says she doesn't have their athleticism. Alright then if you knew you didn't measure up at all then stay home, go to dance classes and have fun. She took the spot of others who were serious competitors and have doing b since they were little.
She didn’t ask for support, she asked for people to stop harassing her and her family, it’s a bit different.
Traits of narcissists
you're so butthurt by this woman existing, so embarrassing
Having a PHD in break dancing tells me all I need to know.

Why don't you stop? Is someone forcing you to watch it?
@@Poorlineforeva It's forever in the internet. It's inevitable. Please cease your hypocrisy.
you’re looking in a mirror so the embarrassment is for yourself, which you should get over, and love yourself and others the best you can as you heal your resentments and suffering. the world around us is a tough place but there are decent people waiting whenever you’re ready. no ones judging just not gonna wanna hang around hate, bc it makes us sick. i will dip my toe in the hate pond to just reach out to say it gets better, but you have to accept a hand up out of there. Jesus is my recommendation of who to ask for help, bc people disappoint a lot, as you clearly have witnessed. God bless and good luck honey bunny
No one knows any other breakdancers or who won any medals. But everyone knows this clown. Forever. It will never go away. It can never be undone. This was The Phantom Menace of olympic sports.
An apt description.
Japan won gold
I can't get anything else. I keep asking who won and all they show are interviews.
Phil Kim from Canada won Gold. A 39 year old man from France won silver. After that 🤡 performance I didn't watch the women. She supposedly has been dancing since she was a child and trained in B since 2010...I call bullsh**.
@@VictoryRenfrew yes, exactly what or who did she train on?
If Raygun causes breakdancing to be removed from the Olympics, give her the gold.
🤣.
If not, is ballroom dancing next?
Since the next summer Olympics will be held in Los Angeles, maybe they can make a new event for it, call it “The Homeless Clean-Up”.
I'm stunned that she didn't do that already, dicky!
Or the Harris sweep.
She didn't cause it. Cities plan about 8 years ahead what the events will be
It's about robbing the opportunity from someone more eligible who would've taken it far more seriously and given the competition a run for their medals. Being an olympian isn't just about you Rachael.
Exactly!
That has been rebuked the Olympic committee said she qualified fair and square even if she's terrible
go into a place of inner peace like i recommend looking up a short guided meditation, even just 3-5 minutes. try to stay quiet and follow along. clear out your thoughts and judgement. then come back and watch her dance. 🤷♀️ if you still hate it then you have inner work to do, bc we are all a mirror in a way.
and we all keep having inner work to do dw i’m not insulting you. just pointing out where we hate is where we have room to grow- although there IS a time for hate so i do not hate you for having your time for hate. just want you not to suffer in it for extended time like i have from trauma and fear

Oh girl, a bit of acceptance and humility to admit that you did not do well at a competition representing your country is the best you can do at this point, instead of pointing those critics and saying those are "hates"
She got zero. I think she gets it.
yet she brought immense joy and delight to the world, and ended the competition between breakdancers to free us all how we wanna dance. simply by going all out, having fun, getting a zero and crashing the ability to judge breaking (at least for now) so 🤧 God bless miss raygun australia
A statement of fact isnt hate, its a statement of fact. Perhaps her issues with plain English also extend to understanding what break dancing really means. He's husband/tutor who is equally "talented" set the bar very low and she still didnt reach it.
I don’t hate her….but she clearly shouldn’t have been there
All this could not be just on her, the selection committee betrayed Australians. All the reasons surrounding she was the best, then they should have recognised we aren't ready for this event. Instead making a fool of the country you represent and as she said she had "fun" are serious concerns in so many levels.
Oh yeah, someone needs to speak up for the Roos. You put them to shame too.
It infuriates me that people cant see how wrong this is. She took 20 thousand dollars and stole the opportunity from a real dancer because of what...free money and free vacation in Paris. Its not funny. Its wrong and unfair. She should be penalized and fined not be defended.
why? she did amazing! she brought so much joy!!!!
funny was just a positive side effect of her point, i think? not that she was mocking olympians who work their whole lives

I don’t wanna be an Aussie any more after her break dancing, Aussie now apparently “cant dance “
A sound bite from a Phil Collins' hit many years ago ...
Total joke & an insult to all other athletes who have worked for years to perfect their sport. DISGUSTING!!!!

She was not only an embarrassment but she also mocked & insulted some of the Australian wildlife creatures, the Kangaroos, the snakes, Tasmanian devils & Magpies
and the worm
I'm seriously glad she didn't do 'The Emu' nor The Wombat, let alone 'The Drop Bear". She didn't do too bad a job on 'The Wet Dog Drying'
When you see Aboriginals do animal dance at moment's they seem to shapeshift if you were watching through infrared they would appear as the animals they represent that and they are alot better breakdancers then ray gun but all that g'day mate Aussie memes is still very cringe just saying if that is what they wanted why not do it properly or at least observe how it's supposed to be done both animal dance and breakdance she achieved neither.
🤣🤣🤣
How do you insult a kangaroo or a snake? Probably the most ridiculously stupid comment ever posted.
It's not 'hate'. It's 'ridicule'. For being so f-ing bad and sadly taking up an Olympic berth for other, more skilled Aussie B-dancers.
“Doctor” Rachael Gunn had this rigged from the start: from the process of starting the Australian governing breakdancing body, to organising the trials for the Olympic team, to having her husband as a judge and the teams trainer, withholding aid to other Aussie breakers who asked for it, yeah, this chick needs to be thoroughly investigated.
Yeah that's the real controversy here, not the fact that she was bad
If you investigated any of the claims you just made you would know that all of them are untrue, try googling before spreading misinformation
No one but “doctor” Rachel Gunn calls Rachel Gunn a “b-girl”. I am in my mid-50’s, and my brother & I were totally in the “breakin” world back when it started. She is not break-dancing. It’s bad jazz-dancing at best. An epileptic fit at best. (That’s the joke, folks.)
And I ruined my own joke, folks. One of those is supposed to say “worst”. I’ll not correct it and let you, the reader decide. Most decide “Vince DiBona is a dumbass”, and that’s fair too. 😂
I was also doing breakdance before and it hurts me to see her performance in the Olympics. I saw this rapper in the audience laughing so hard watching her. As a rapper and a hiphop artist, he knew the performance was a joke.
We must see videos of you and your brother breakdancing. You owe us!
The statement of a typical narcissist.
Be devastated Rachel. It's clearly the only possible way you'll learn. Most people learn basic human skills (self-awareness, humility, willingness to accept deserved criticism etc) between starting and leaving school. Let's be kind and call you a late developer.
Is she a provocateur ? She certainly seems like one with her total lack of awareness about other people and why and how people, are at the Olympics .her self absorbed perception of the reaction is more like an cynical actor inciting a reaction for a purpose . She cares nothing for the Olympians she demeans by her casual contempt and similarly dismisses any criticism with the usual provocateur delusion to undermine criticism , by the smear that it is all just “ hate” . . Well maybe she is correct in that she is hated by those who have integrity for sport and respect for the commitment and talent , none of which she possesses .
Great comment.
She has an overinflated sense of self-worth (=narcissism)
@@Jules2468 thanks , I can’t take her seriously in any way , it all seems an act designed to incite a reaction and she callously exploits something of genuine meaning to satisfy her petty resentful malcontent for the things she is incapable of achieving . She does inspire and provoke anger though .
@@saudade369 wow, that’s brilliant brain you have, seriously!
So refreshing to read after the brain-dead comments of the majority of people.
After watching her Instagram video where she breaks her silence, I find it fascinating that she still straightaway referred to herself as “Raygun” when saying hello.
This makes me think that she’s probably going to go on to milk this for all it’s worth, anyone with a gram of self-awareness and the ability to self reflect, would say “hi, it’s Rachel..”,
but no, she’s sticking with her plan it seems.
To then call the people that didn’t appreciate her performance (for so many reasons) “haters” is beyond ridiculous.
I also wonder if this is some type of psy-op?
What type of personality disorders do you think she has, to make her oblivious to things that are so obvious to the rest of us? Obviously narcissism and delusion, but what is it about her that makes people such as Anna Meares and others think that she deserves a place in the Olympic Games because she’s got a great attitude and spirit apparently? What fog or illusions are they themselves under? Besides the feminist rhetoric that every woman is special and deserves to have whatever she wants?
What is going on with this planet?!
I have my own theories of course, would really appreciate your opinions!
@@Jules2468 p.s . As you said yourself , it’s the feminist , woke concept that “ everyone is special , I can be , do what ever I want to “ , and that anyone saying I can’t is just an oppressor , a part of an oppressive patriarchy etc . When the objective reality is we cannot be , do what ever we want , we all have personal , psychological , physical limits and talents and perhaps we reach great achievements by learning to know ourselves and accept who we are . Perhaps this then allows u to fully discover and achieve those great things we see in others . They are fortunate enough to learn , find th etchings thst they are good at and love and so commit to being better and achieve more . Theres a maxim that to be just competent at something takes around 10,000 hours of practice , imagine the hard work it takes to achieve the great things we see from those we used to admire for their achievement and which people like Ray Gun demean so casually ?
In my own profession as an artist , sculptor , ceramicist and lecturer , it has taken a lifetime to achieve the level I have and I am still learning and hopefully becoming more able to express my ideas in my art . Anything that looks easy is often because the person doing it has committed to working very hard for years m for a lifetime to achieve a standard . To applaud someone for their “ spirit” seems a sad justification for what was lazy , technically flawed and an abandonment of any basic standard of excellence or even just competence . How can that be rewarded and applauded unless we are now celebrating the feminist ideal of no objective standards and expectations ? A prize for all , for just attending is what it represents and a gold medal would be seen as rewarding those who are excluding others because of their excellence and we see those who do attain great things being smeared for their achievements being an attack upon those who don’t achieve .a purely ideological undermining of individual talent and the idea of high standards being something positive .
Ok I’m done ! Honest !
BEING A COUNTRY REP AND GETTING 0 SCORE IS REALLY SOMETHING
All that hate ???? But she keeps her social media pages open for everyone to comment?? I call that attention seeking behaviour
🤏🏼
There is nothing wrong in giving something a go, but not if it is the Olympics; that is an event which the best the world can offer aspire for excellence. To offer any less is not only disrespecting the games, but the country which that person represents.
Seems to shine light on the lack of organization and professionalism around it as a sport being included in the Olympics. Was there no qualifiers, practices, warm ups etc, where someone around her could have said, "that ain't it".?
@@GabeHandle I doubt it was the lack of organisation and more towards pushing a certain agenda and bias.
Correct nothing wrong with giving things a go but how about not at the Olympics where it's supposed to be for the best of the best IE elite athletes
Then say " it's been hate " after you get criticized.
You are right it is the Olympics. She was being judged and she made a fool out of herself. She also in my opinion disrespected breakdancing. Her performance was like Miss Piggy dancing with Nureyev except that was a skit and meant to be funny. She may have had her first experience with reality. Just because you want to do something doesn't mean you should.
You do know she made her own rules and regulations to create Australian break-dancing organizations, blocked other people in that realm that were asking for help, and her husband was part of the team that judged the Australian qualifications - right? She’s a nasty piece of work, and is currently under investigation.
The funny thing about this is nobody knows who the athletes from Australia that won medals, because it's all about her now.
She stole the spotlight from them by just being goofy. That's not fair.

I'm proud to say I haven't watched any of the olympics this year.
Honestly, who the heck supported her? It’s the Olympics, it’s supposed to be seriously excellent. The best of the best competes. Rachael didn’t deserve to have a free trip, all expenses paid, trip to Paris.

Yes, Rachael, you have brought joy into my life.
However, I didn't laugh with you, but at you. What you showed at the Olympics was probably the worst and most embarrassing thing I've seen this year.
I don't hate her. I thought the break dance routine she did was amusing. I would like to see her on the comedy circuit. We need a good laugh every now and then.
That’s not the point tho…
It wasn't a breakdance routine in the least. Stop it
Thing is - if it had been an Aboriginal dance, accompanied by a didgeridoo and mimicking Naive animals, we might have been impressed. at least with the didgeridoo playing.
It was not breakdancing though and that was what she was there to be judged on.
It cannot be repeated enough, she got no score because what she did was not recognised by the Judges as breakdancing.
Well it doesn't really matter that you genuinely do not hate her. She has already and officially marked you as a hater, similarly to everyone else who overly enthusiastic about her performance. However, she has also other talents too, and one of them is forgiveness. Hence please do feel forgiven for your hate crimes against 'brakedancing' community.
She needs to be at the circus or at the aquarium 😂
There’s no way that she was the best that Australia has to offer in breakdancing. Not a chance, so that in itself deserves to have her and husband investigated cause everything seems off about this whole thing.
If Raygun's coach came out afterwards reporting "Raygun performed with an ankle sprain", I'd say "you're 36, competing on a busted ankle? Holy cow - I judge you as pretty courageous!"
That is not what happened.

She made a mockery out of the event...
Yes, she really did. It was disrespectful and the fac that she didn't even realize that her performance was so bad tells me she isn't dealing with reality.
I actually feel bad for Ra-Gun as she’s a victim of DEI, where what box you tick opens the door for you rather than your merit. She may have been deceived by this warped system to think she really is good. And, under the thick blanket of that sane delusion, she cannot comprehend that maybe people are laughing at her simply because she’s bad - instead she defaults that it must be a conspiracy of misogyny and hate. No male gives a flying fig if a break dancer has a pole or a hole… it’s only ever been about skill; and this lady ain’t got it; simple as that. @Rachel Gun, no people they don't hate you, they just criticised your performance. In fact all what happened is not your fault, it is the fault of the committee who was in charge of selecting athletes to go to the Olympics, if they had bit of critical thinking they should at least have told you told you that your performance is not at the level required from an olympic athlete and provided you with some guidance to improve before you went to compete. Have they done that you wouldn't find yourself in the situation where all the world is criticising you!!!
The thing is her and her husband rigged the entry so she could get through and snubbed people who can actually dance.
Do a 10 second google to find out that is false
@Simmonsssss I googled it and this is what came up:
According to the petition, Gunn would have created her own governing body for breakdancing in Australia and, through it, would have manipulated the selection process for Paris 2024. The document accuses Raygun of creating her own qualification tournament and denying funds to other competitors.
The document further reveals that Samuel Free, Gunn's husband, was the coach of the Australian breakdancing team.
I was boycotting the Olympics so I haven't seen this yet. Gonna go look it up, sounds really amusing.
I would say more like critical of her performance, dissing and making fun of her performance yes. Not hate. It was quite entertaining how that is now a part of Olympic history.

There's alot out there talking about her husband being on the selection committee or other reasons just as dubious. But what's the truth?
