Yes, this should still work when you publish the website since Formspree does not rely on where it is hosted.

any time i click on the submit button it gives me this prompt "Can't send an empty form"

Formspree will require you to fill out every field, but if there is still an issue, it may be that you forgot to add method="POST" inside the form tag. You can also reach out to Formspree if you're still having this problem: help.formspree.io/hc/en-us/requests/new
