- Hello friends! It’s finally here! OUR VAN TOUR! In 2016, we bought our Promaster 136’’ high roof (Vanessa) and converted it in 3 months with the help of our fathers in 2017. Since October 2019, we’ve been living nearly full-time in the van. Welcome to our home!

WHO WE ARE? WHAT’S WITH OUR ACCENT?
We're Dom & Marie, a French Canadian couple who love Nutella and live in a van.
Marie is the brain (Ph.D student) and Dom's the dreamer (Creative director).
In our newly converted Promaster 136'' named Vanessa, we plan to visit every single corner of North America. Our goal is to inspire others to start #vanlife and to help build their very own home on wheels.

Just a safety thing I learned when living in Germany where first aid kits are mandatory, keep it in the passenger area close to you. That way if someone hits you from behind you can still get to it easily. Great van!

Great conversion, there is a lot of skills in it, drawers partitions, dishes organisation to avoid rattles etc. and obviously a lot of searches prior to. Marie tu as un niveau d'humour dans tes descriptions qui donne une dynamique tout a fait unique, adorable. Dom, if I pick a yellow van with white stripes, do you think I can get the same benefits.

So we are going backwards binding the videos ;-)
The sink is perfect where it is, a lot of people use the sink for a temporary shower in the hallway, our roadtrek has would doors, that turns our hallway in front of our toilet into a shower area.. super fast.

You mean, talk on the radio? Funny thing: I was on a local radio show for a few weeks here, in Ottawa. Thanks for the comment! We are always struggling to see how much details we give, or how much we need to make things easier to understand. This subject can get pretty complicated if we just talk about everything. We'll see if we can make more of these informational videos on more specific topics (electricity, plumbing, etc.)

We got a 2019 ford transit extended. Drove several, Dodge didn’t work for us because of the Seat height and windshield caused a blind spot.

Nice van, one suggestion, if you spin the refrigerator it will open up all the way instead of bumping into the cupboard above it
We tried this, but that also means that you have to pull it out all the way to be able to open it, and we don't always want to do that, unfortunately.

My favorite part is the stripes 🤙 How did you make your cabinet doors and drawer faces? Are they just 3/4 plywood with trim attached to make them look like shaker style faces?

First of all I had your van saved on pinterest as a favourite! Very cool unit.
Secondly, and this one is very random; but I came across these French Canadians that made sick fly fishing videos a while back, and sort of forgot what they were called and have for the past couple weeks tried to find them but failed not remembering the channels name..until you opened up your storage cupboard and I saw an insulated mug with "HOOKÈ" written on it! 😁 thanks! Atb
