    My issue with this one, which is giving me buyers regret, is getting it aligned with the ball. It has to be perfectly aligned, and it takes some time to do that.

    • @MatthewPacifico
      @MatthewPacifico Před měsícem +1

      Agree with this. And I haven’t figured out how to play a simulated round while I’m at the range due to the position of the camera on tee shots, versus lies off the mat (without having to recalibrate the camera after hitting driver each time). That’s been a bummer. Would be nice to see an update in the future where they increase the FOV of the cameras, so the ball could be seen by the device anywhere within a wider defined radius, thus also reducing the alignment time of setting the mlm2pro up.

      @michaeldasilva6753 Not quite. You will be able to see from the slowmo impact camera if your face is open or close. However you still won't know what you path is doing so trying to fix face or path will be pretty hard. Unless your miles in to out or out to in.

      By far the biggest issue with the mlm2pro is the miss shots and flakey direct wifi connection. It can make for a very frustrating session, but when it's working, the accuracy performs well above its weight class.
      Just a shame these two issues still persist. The mlm2pro would otherwise be a near perfect unit.

    I've owned one for 3mths. I mainly hit it indoors into a net. Whilst I've carefully set it up using their exact suggested distances from Rapsodo unit to ball, and ball to net, I find the distance accuracy disappointing. It's under selling distances by 10-20% - especially with driver - which is frustrating. This isn't just me over estimating my distances - when I take it to an outdoor range the distances are really accurate. (I note in your review your driver distances were slightly down too vs Trackman). I'm not sure whether it has trouble picking up balls hitting into my black net (vs hitting into a white impact screen), but either way it's frustrating and is the only thing that stops me wholeheartedly recommending the Rapsodo MLM2 Pro

    • @Golfzilla70
      @Golfzilla70 Před měsícem

      FWIW, i've got a friend doing a lot of research because he's taking the plunge into a big simulator. He said that doppler radars, when indoors, are susceptible to metal buildings (if inside a metal building, the radar can bounce around a bit making the data a bit less accurate). So that's why he's going camera-based. If i ever get this, i don't see it being an issue because i'd be using it on an outdoor net anyway.

      - I have the MLM2Pro and can say it’s perfect for use on the range. However, you will not get spin data; the device will track the ball, and you will have a shot tracer, and the distance will be very accurate.
      Using it on course sounds good in theory, unless you are playing alone and no one is behind you it’s more of a pain in reality.

    Sean, I've not yet used one of these or read your other reviews entirely, so forgive me if this is a stupid question. When you're comparing the accuracy of the MLM to the Trackman (or to any other monitors), is there a control or validation of some kind? I.e. how do you know the Rhapsodo is less accurate than the Trackman and not the other way around? Or is the Trackman a gold standard of accuracy?

    • @breakingeighty
      @breakingeighty  Před měsícem +1

      Tracking accuracy is the hardest part of these videos, as you never really know which one is correct. But the Trackman is generally considered the gold standard - so in this video I used it as the control.

    • @breakingeighty
      @breakingeighty  Před měsícem +2

      The Garmin R10 is the cheapest way to get club path, but I haven't found it to be terribly accurate. The alignment of the unit can pretty dramatically effect the results, and it's not actually measuring - its using an algo to calculate that specific metric.
      The Mevo Plus I believe is the cheapest product to give impact detection. But even that, you'll need both Pro Package and Impact Detection Package. When on sale, and using a promo code, you should be able to get for like $2600ish.

      I've had one in-depth session with it indoors against the Trackman, and honestly, the results weren't great. I've been holding off doing the review until I can do it again and see if it was a setup issue or something else causing the results to be more variable than I was expecting. I was also thinking it really only need 8 feet behind and 8 feet in front of the ball indoors. But when using the app, it seemed to ideally want 10 feet both directions - which is a lot of space. And where my Trackman setup is, I've barely got 16 feet total - so that might be part of the issue as well.

      If you want ultimate versatility and a more professional feeling system, the Mevo+ is fantastic.
