    Almost done with this project just need to splice wires and put everything back together .Don't have a solder gun so was thinking of wire splice or twist and shrink .Taking a break to think it over .A few things i have learned in the field is you need 2 sided LED chips like you see in this video . If you get 8 or 6 sided chips it will not give a correct beam pattern with projectors .LED locked into perfect alignment .Chips Should be side to side not top to bottom .I did not take bolts out of bumper .Just loosen them to give a bit of play .Did not mess with clip on back of housing i just pulled up and out .There are 3 bolts holding housing .2 easy up front .Number 3 is down low on back of housing through wheel well . I just loosen that bolt and it slides out .Got CHOPDARK LED like on this video .They were on Amazon for about 50 bucks .Whatever LED you choose make sure it has that little black box on them or you are likely gonna get error codes or flicker .While i was in there i did all 3 lights to LED . Thanks for the video was very helpful

Wife with alcohol.... Then due to coats of a clear sealer.... Will look brand new. • @seanoconnor1398
    @seanoconnor1398 Před rokem

    Wait let me get this straight first off you say you want to stick with factory because they’re so my h better than aftermarket BUT the reason you’re replacing the “factory” HID bulbs is because the “factory” light assembly is taking on enough water that your “factory” HID ballast is shorting out and you compliment how much nicer the factory lights look as you’re showing your “factory” lights completely faded wealthier cracked and yellow? Then you mention how you’ve tried to save the factory lenses by taking them apart and resealing them with RTB??? Ok that’s admirable that you’ve got faith in your factory lights and want to stay loyal to your brand after 16 years for sure understandable the extra costs that factory light housings are vs aftermarket. Question have you owned that Escalade since it rolled off the lot and if not who’s to say those ones you have haven’t been replaced in the passed with a cheap aftermarket aren’t capa certified? Just saying one of the first things a used car lot will replace is the headlights on a vehicle because how much better they look and are easier to sell with a fresh set of headlights and you best believe nobody’s going to replace a car they’re about to sell with factory lights especially when there’s so many Chinese cheap knock offs that’ll pass just fine as factory on their lot and even last a year or so before they start taking on water. Tip if you’re going to break the factory seal and take a lens off your lights you NEVER want to use RTB to reseal them that’s for sure, ALWAYS USE BUTYL GLUE it’s that nasty black sticky glue that if you have taken your lights apart you would’ve experienced it because it’s what every light is sealed with from the factory. One more thing WTF are you doing cutting the factory wiring!!?? I’d you’re so worried about keeping your “factory” quality lights because you want to stay true to your brand and not mess up your vehicle why would you ever ever cut up factory wires and then be irresponsible and tell others that’s the way to make the LED’s work when you’re totally wrong! You should go spend the extra $20 for the correct canbuss kit which makes your factory computer able to take on and power up aftermarket LED lights with no issues and also is plug and play with cutting or modifications necessary. You know it’s not often I get in here and get in peoples comment sections and I would NEVER call anyone out because I find it distasteful and lame when people criticize others but dude after you contradicting yourself multiple times then giving folks not only wrong information but irresponsible information risking them doing something as stupid as cutting up factory wiring instead of getting a canbuss kit I couldn’t go on without asking you to PLEASE BEFORE YOU START GIVING ADVICE AND SHOWING A HOW TO VIDEO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go watch a couple videos yourself on a reputable channel and do a little research before you be irresponsible and suggest ways to fix a problem that isn’t only incorrect but totally unsafe. I guarantee anyone who would listen to this is not real bright when it comes to vehicles and will follow your video to the T and the next thing you know their truck is burning down it they end up trying to drive home with no lights because their hack wiring job couldn’t make it through the season and their lights go out ending up in an accident. It’s ok to be wrong and it’s ok to have your own way of doing something trenching others is awesome but to make irresponsible content like this just ain’t right man. Sorry for calling you out but I just got a call from my sister about fixing her headlights and said she seen your video being an avid CZcams watcher with car content as my most watched you really should be careful on being so sure of yourself if you’re even just a little unsure or haven’t done it before. I did enjoy your video if it wasn’t for the misinformation if that helps anyways.

      @matafied  Před rokem

      So the reason for me saying I like OEM is because I do prefer the quality of the fitment etc over cheap Chinese headlights. The fact of the matter is gm had a terrible design flaw with these headlights which is why they are in such high demand for them. Without separating the lens from the housing it can be properly sealed. I like a lot of people who can't afford 800 dollars for headlights, or better yet I can just don't want to. Also, this vehicle did not require a CAN module I drive it weekly. Another point this escalade has only 60k miles and has never been wrecked, or had repair work done since bought new in 2009. The factory wiring was only modified on the headlight housing side and not on the vehicle side. All modifications done properly will 100% never cause a fire. I have been working on vehicles, specifically automotive wiring for 20+ years. I have yet to have an issue with this upgrade and still going strong for less than 100 bucks. So yeah. The thousands of people that have emailed me, thanking me for helping them fix their vehicles agree. So Goodluck with your repair
