You are not going to be disappointed. He is constantly blowing my mind and you guys have got so much quality reaction content to get through from Ren it's unbelievable.
This guy has something for everyone. I'm a rock and blues fan, never listen to rap, but what this one gives me is dynamics.
I'd suggest seeing him with his band, The Big Push, and with them I recommend "I Shot The Sheriff/Road To Zion/Hip Hop", a live street performance, for yet another side to him.
The energy he has; he puts everything into everything he does, doesn't hold back a thing.

Ren is an artist that comes along once, maybe twice in a generation, if you are lucky. The type of artist who works so hard to master each corner of their craft and is able to capture the viewer every time they perform. He is such a multi-faceted beast of a performer, a vital communicator for the world. Just so happy to have come across him and intrigued with the forthcoming stories he will tell.

You want to really get your mind blown? look up Ren's band The Push they do a cover by Sting "Englishman In New York" or Ren busking in the streets of Brighton singing James Brown "Man's World" and you mentioned that this had a 90's beat, check out Ren's song "What You Want" its a tribute to late 80's early 90's rap in the style3 of the Beastie Boys, so much fun. 🔥😁
From what I've been able to glean, REN had a Sony Record deal when he was in his teens. Then he got sick, Misdiagnosed from the start. Given lots of meds to "fix" him, that causes its own issues. He has Lyme disease, and has been sick and mostly home sick the past 10 years. I believe he is in Canada seaking medical help and will be there till this summer. He has a Go fund me on his sight were you can help him with medical expenses. He has Sooo much talent, He is the Shakespeare of this generation. I Heard Nox Hill call him Britains Minstrel. Its very fitting. My first thought was a modern day Bohemian Rapsydy has been written. Love you Channel. HogFam4life. Creeksquad,
This dude, can do anything. He can play old Mo-town soul like nobody's business. He can rap for days. He can play spanish classical guitar, he can rip an electric guitar.

2 songs in, month has passed more ren please, each one you listen to you think wow is this his best one. Haven't digged an artist like this since I first heard Prince in early 80s. Ren's music and versatility excites me even more.

this guy can do so many different things it's really staggering...
for sheer storytelling talent and guitar performance, I suggest "the story of Jenny and Screech(full)"... the reveal at the end of it will probably catch you by surprise, but it really brings the whole performance together... it's possibly my favourite piece by him.
as for who's pushing him... this is word of mouth on youtube... I myself have been spreading his music with my friends and family.
He is independent and self promoted. it really is a case of talent driving the views... that said, this isn't a last minute thing. the man turns 33 today and has been busking and making music since he was 13... he has worked his ass of (except of course when his ilness kept him bedbound). this is talent, but also cultivated talent.
The Frankenstein line is him letting you know that this song is a collage of rhyme schemes, cadences, and flows a - Frankenstein of a song. Kinda dope
BTW... He makes all his own beats, does all the mixing and editing too!

Check out “Genesis,” “What You Want,” “Losing it (FISHER rap retake),” “Right here, right now (Fatboy Slim one shot retake),” "Life is Funny," “Love Music (Parts 1, 2, and 3),” “Crucify Your Culture,” “Power,” and his latest release, “Bittersweet symphony (The Verve retake).”
However, Ren is so much more than a "Rapper." He plays multiple instruments (acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, drums), has impressive vocals, performs a number of genres, can beatbox, is an excellent storyteller, and is quite the philosopher and poet. His performances with Sam Tompkins (“Blind Eyed,” “Earned it /Mans World / Falling,” “Walking on the Moon), Eden Nash (“Humble,” “Ocean”), Bibi (“Crutch,” “Ahiahiaoha”), Molly McKinna (“Penitence”), his former bandmate, Romain Axisa (“French Song”) are all great.
Ren's performances as a member of the band "The Big Push" (which unfortunately broke up) are awesome and well worth checking out, both the busking (street performances) and their live recordings. Ren's covers of "I Shot the Sheriff," "Wade in the Water," "Bongo Bong (Manu Chao cover)," "An Englishman in New York," the songs "Oh My Woman," "Swan Song," and so many others are equally impressive and really give you a sample of his vocal ability.
Ren’s collaborations with Chinchilla (“Chalk Outlines,” “How to Be Me”) are beautiful and showcase his singing voice while addressing mental health. Ren's personal reflections on his struggles are threaded through many of his other songs as well; "Insomnia," "Depression," “Diazepam," “Penitence,” “Dear God,” “Heretic,” “Dominos,” his "Freckled Angels" album, just to name a few, all deserve a listen. His song "Money Game" (Part I & II) is another recommendation, although it is less of a personal song than it is an indictment of greed and the resulting injustices in this world.
Ren's trilogy "The Tale of Jenny/Screech/Violet." is an absolute must. It is spellbinding, haunting and has an unforeseen conclusion; WATCH THEM IN THE STATED ORDER, as this is the flow of the storyline, or just watch “The Tale of Jenny & Screech (Full)” from Ren's channel, which includes “Violet’s Tale at the end. The story is a 1-2-3 punch in the gut and is another example of Ren’s genius and a master’s class in storytelling.

Ren acts, he plays loads of instruments, his vocal range is stunning. His songwriting is incredible. His storytelling is up there with Edgar Allan Poe, Tolkien, Shakespeare etc. I haven't seen an artist this all round good in a very long time. Be like seeing Pink Floyd for the first time as a teenager, like when Nirvana hit, Tool, or Linkin Park. Jaw dropping.
When I first heard Hi Ren, i was speechless, and the first word that came to mind was 'PROFOUND'. His back catalogue is an awesome, unexpected journey. His mates are all so talented too. Deserve recognition.

Wait til you hear him Sing, like REALLY SING. He can even sing reggae and he can belt a note and hold it LONG. And also, he plays wicked rock or metal guitar even - way beyond Hi Ren & the Tales. Plus he plays piano, exceptionally, and the drums. Like you said, what can’t he do? After this rap album his next one will be singing.

Honestly guys i think its fine to compare Ren to other artist that we know because thats what we do as humans we dont like people to break the mould so we try to find somewhere for them to fit. But honestly Ren is on another level and there are not realy any boxes we can put him into fairly as he is as much at home doing playing music of Marley with his band or Rapping or making music videos or playing instruments writing music ..its all the same to him! Its a once in a generation thing when an artist comes along who is a musical actual prodigy ...he can basically go on to do whatver he wants depending on how well he keeps and we hope thats forever...go ren

Ren is a chameleon unicorn. What you see is what you get and you never know what you're going to get. A heartbreaking duet with Chinchilla "How to Be Me" live. Is a must hear. There is also a lyric only of the same song that is also wonderful.
For upbeat his older stuff with a couple members of his former band The Big Push. Cover of Stings "Englishman in New York" Rens vocals/voice is fantastic his rendition of it is better than the original I think. For fun try "Bongo Bong"
