Not trusting your feelings can get you in a lot of trouble. There's often good reason we feel off, uneasy, etc at times and it's never a good idea to just dismiss it. Believe what you want but the world is a dangerous place and I've seen first hand the effects that being naive about that can have. There's truth to examining our feelings to see where they come from and then reacting accordingly, but don't leave your God given brain behind.

Wow, he managed to get through almost 11 minutes without ever reading from the Bible. That's quite a feat, considering he's a preacher and his job is to help others understand the Word. If your pastor can get through that much time without talking about scripture, then your pastor isn't preaching, he's telling stories. No one needs to hear your wonderful story, Dan, or watch you bounce all over the stage. They need the truth and the Word of God.
I think it's good to show others that your life can line up with scriptures. What's the point in always reading scripture and explaining scripture but never living it? And like they said, it's only 11 minutes from a 3 hour long sermon. Pastors can read and teach the scriptures all day long and that's great, but it's also great to see a pastor who's life and experiences look like the things we read about in scripture and who teaches us that it's possible for us to do what Jesus did and even greater just like Jesus said we would. I don't think Jesus intended pastors to just read the Bible and teach what it means and then go home never living it out. I think he meant for pastors to live scripture, do what Jesus did and share with the world that they can do what Jesus did too. And then show them scriptures that prove that. This isn't to slander Dan in any way, but it's kind of ironic that he says don't trust your feelings. He's also said many times about not letting your experiences define truth for you. But Dan has taught before that one of the reasons he believes the miraculous spiritual gifts of the apostolic-age continue in us is because "he's seen too much to go back now". That statement right there completely undoes his credibility. No teacher should ever have that coming out of their mouths. It's not a valid way to come up with doctrine.
