I swear! this is the same idea I also used to think.... But not only electric energy but also thinking about if the the heat power is converge to the sea water, then the steam makes the electric energy as it is made from thermo Powerplant.. and if the steam is uplifted to higher mountain ground then stored in dam again energy will be generated by hydropower....also if these stored water diverges to drought area the shortage of water can be eliminated...
Many problems can be eliminated by this technique like-
Diverging the excess solar heat from highly hot region....
Rise of sea water levels can be prevented by escalating sea evaporation....
The green ecology with eco-friendly energy makes change the world..
What about corel reaf in that sea region.... consider marine life perspective also....but still good thought

Nice idea but its also warm our planet i think its better way to use solar power plant in space its can power any think in the space and earth and most importantly we can also power other planets like Mars and moon, (moon is not plant) its very expensive and hard to do but if we do it energy problems are solve i know we can face many many problems like powerfull rockets protect solar panels from asteroids ignoring wold geopolitics and more but in future i am definitely try to se this kind of mega projects to solve this hungry world energy demands

In the third year of B.T.ech. in Electronics and Instrumentation. I have read this concept in the MICROWAVE AND TELEMENTRY SYSTEM subject in 2012.
The interesting fact is during 1990's I did see the spark plug of scooters and had the same question discussed to my elder cousin and was satisfied by his reply - The jump of 1 mm gap in spark plug causes so much of heat then think of jumping it to the distance.
But science have advanced and now they have the theory to covert it into other energy and then again reconvert it into electricity.
