    I'm late to the party, but just wanted to say I really appreciated this video. There are a few different ways I have seen to tie this double hook rig, but yours is by far the easiest.

    Exceptional instructional quality. You show every step of the loop knot tying process and provide pauses at critical points in the process, which makes it easy to duplicate the technique. Here in Alaska I fish the same color hoochies in the lower sections of rivers -- for kings and silvers both -- with equal success as in the saltwater. Sometimes I tip the leading hook with a filet of herring or shrimp that I have cured and added scent to. These rigs are also quite effective for jigging.

    Nick, what size bead are you using in the head of the hoochie.

    Hi Nick in your other video you used a straw with beads for the hootchie skirt do you just use the bead when preparing it or is that just for trolling? Thanks from Vancouver, Canada

    Great video. What length leader do you use for ocean kings?

    • @alaskawilderman
      @alaskawilderman Před 3 lety +1

      I run leaders for kings no less than 6 feet length. For some reason, kings shy from striking anything on shorter leaders, or so is the case for me here in Alaska

      Anywhere from 42-48 inches works here in the sound. Could differ in other marine environments
