So many haters ... I found this video better than most product reviews or demonstration videos, as its more authentic and interesting. No special effects, no clever edits, no hype - just a guy playing around, which is usually how I figure out my vsts, or synths. No - it's not my style of music - but that's not the point - open your minds people! p.s. Love the mirror use - pure genius!

Fantastic, Cuckoo. I've been following your channel for a couple years now and like your style. I'm nearly 50 years old and initially focused on playing electric guitar, but for the last 10 years or so I have dabbled around with Logic Pro, using very many soft synths; seeking textures as a background for recording guitar with. I now have Komplete 12 and I love it, but find it overwhelming. Your approach is so refreshing compared to just about all of the others on CZcams. Thank you very much, Cuckoo.

That's ultimately a question of taste and okay. But Cuckoo is a trusted member of the music tech community and has contributed to the scene a lot over many years. And he stands for positivity. You would never hear him spread the kind of toxic vibes he received in some of the comments. Well, haters gonna hate I guess.
Those haters probably bought more than one or a bunch of 'kick' plugins lol, that's why this nice awesome plugin is getting hate. NI Rocks
Some people don't get Cuckoo's positive attitude and cheerful approach. He is the kind of guy who first makes you go "duh, what's with the hair", and two minutes later just want to hang out with.
Never heard of Cuckoo, but he did a nice job with the demo. As for the plugin, looks pretty neat for quickly putting some warped sound together.

Just recently got Komplete 12 and TRK-01 is already becoming a favorite go-to. Searched tutorials to see about getting the most out of it and landed on this Cuckoo vid. Not only am I enjoying the walkthrough on the plugin but I would certainly love to hang out and nerd out on music and beers with this guy, so chill...love him.

How does Ableton know specifically where I want MIDI from TRK-01 to start and stop in my project??? I'm not getting any sound from any TRK-01 MIDI clips at all. Can anyone please help?? 🙏
Can anyone tell me is there a way to set a default turn on volume for this plugin? It opens up very high in volume compared to all my other channels and the same flicking through each new pre-set.
Remember: NI doesn't really expect you to pay the excessively expensive €99 price tag. This VST is far from worth that, they know it, you know it, they know you know it. However, they expect Komplete customers to upgrade at the end of the year when the new version comes out. Such software is needed for this purpose only, for Komplete 12 not to look empty. We see you NI!
You are right, the price is absolutely insane and only geeks with money will rush on it, but on the other hand I don't think Komplete 12 will raise tomorrow, so I believe they count on our rumbling compulsiveness to buy it one day, after a party : )
Yesterday NI asked me to fill in a client satisfaction survey. One of my points of critique was that I am not buying stuff, because I never know if it ends up in the next Komplete Ultimate version.
Genuinely curious here, would you say the same to Izotope for Ozone 8, Neutron 2 and Nectar 3?

Great fun but i find this so difficult to record into my daw I've stopped using it. I can only record out as audio and it always changes the tempo for some reason

It´s not about that, who is interesting or not. I just like to see a guy who can show the full potential of product by building good sounding examples and explaining his approach in an entertaining way. Both I don´t see here. I see instead NI just takes a guy who might have a name in a music scene. I would prefer to see an noname instead if he have skill.
I thought this video would go into detail about phase relations. Is this vsti supposed to prevent phase cancellation between kick and bass? I mean i see its a sequencer and synth but i still don't know why this vsti exists. Love to Cuckoo but i can't sit through the tinkering without facts and knowledge.
LOL why would you think that he's just having fun showing how unique it is. It has a built in ducker, but he didn;t even put in on the same steps anyway. And why would a kick and bass phase cancel? Just flip the polarity if it did anyway.
How do you match the Relative Volume of Kick and Bass? Is there a mixer section? I cant see anything

I just bought reaktor and I don't seem to have the full version of the I only have one part of the full plug in with no sequencer
How to I get the sequencer and get both bass and modules be connected like this? It seems I can only open either or in Reaktor and I don't see a sequencer in either.
I need to ask U a question about this program...When I use It an push play the sound doesn't stop tell I push stop... How can I play It from a mini keyboard out of demo mode like playing free hand only hearing the sounds when I push keys on the keyboard.
why are you're TRK 01 Kick & Bass together ? My TRK 01 have 2 plugins one Kick and one for Bass and I don't got an Sequenzer.. what's that ? :/

From seeing this using it as a sequencer, can we just use it like one shots instead? I tried using my keyboard and it wouldn't work for some reason. I pressed play for the track I used it on and you can only hear it as a sequencer..

ok... but how do you get this mix into your DAW? ever one when they show off tools allways shows it off but they never put in the most important part... after you make the sound how do you get it into your DAW?

This is hosted inside Reaktor, but also works in the free 'Reaktor Player' :-)

You don't as such. For each preset you can create multiple kick and bass sequences. You then record midi notes in your DAW to trigger the patterns (or to change the kick or bass sound). TRK-01 will start to play with the DAW, so probably best to leave first kick and bass pattern empty so you can bring sequences in and out as you see fit

Sounds nice. How can you adjust that to your chord harmony? Its sounds great for techno. For example i have my harmony and melody,kick, bass, how this plug-in can compliment to my song? How do i adjust all this , o.k. lets say bass (which i can easy program) to my composition in Am I - ii- VI -iV ?

I love this instrument. But please update it so it can run in sync with the daw but with independent stop/start via midi.
This is a pretty cool VST, however; I'll wait till TRK-O2 comes out and buy it for $50 in a years time :) btw nicely demonstrated bro

Yeah I'm finding a lot of the Native plugins that are circa 100 euro are way, way over priced! There are so many ios apps that do these things for a fraction of their prices and with and iconnect device I can plug them in and stream a clean digital audio signal directly into Maschine anyway.

good demo, cool product. i guess i await the K U 12 upgrade because im not dropping 99 on this lol. but as always from NI, the product is definately interesting, and could be great value for someone that doesnt own komplete or ultimate, and just wants a single product. i would use this.

Uh isn't there already a kick drum plugin in Maschine? It sounds just like this, and then a couple of months ago they added the Bass Synth plugin, what the hell is the point of this?

1. The sound design options of the kick are many times bigger (two drum engines that you can mix, modulate, and load your own samples into)
2. The bass engine also has much, MUCH more sound design capabilities
3. Parameter locks per step
4. Ton of modulation options
5. Great sounding presets
6. Not everyone has Maschine

As always I was a little bit hyped after reading the E-Mail from NI today. But after watching this thing in action, I am not impressed at all... So where is the innovative part of this tool? This brings nothing new/interresting to the table. At least for me...

It seems like a good tool for getting out of creative blocks and generating ideas to kickstart a new track (pun intended). I tried the demo and it's very fun and versatile, but I do think the price is too high.

If it would run in the Kontakt engine that everyone of us have because of the vast amount of Kontakt libraries out there, I'd have given the demo a try. But with having to install the Reaktor player as well.. thanks no. I don't need 100 main- and sub programs to run VSTs.
Well, Kontakt is a sampler while Reaktor is a synth engine, so using this in Kontakt would be impossible. They are not doing this for the inconvinience of it, they are doing it becase different beasts needs different tools.
Reaktor is a great engnine in which people have made some great synths that doesn't rely on sampling.
