- Smith Layi and AyoT share their reactions to the comments made by Ebi Onome following Brazil’s qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics gold medal match. We then discuss the accusations made by Pooja, and the ensuing back and forth.
We should honor our legend- in this case Onome, even when she wasn’t in form and clubless, but still greedily went to the last World Cup? Brazilian Martha played an enormous role in getting Brazil to the final. What did Onome do at the last World Cup? Blocking another prospect from shining at the WC. it’s not every food that one is offered that you accept. You didn’t deserve to be at the last World Cup, and a true legend would have turned it down!
What most people don't understand is that
This ladies started football together, they grew up together and they've been through a lot together and they genuinely love themselves
They've been together since U-17 till making it to the super falcons, so whenever they get the opportunity to get invited to the falcons camp, you definitely see the joy on their faces, seeing their old friends and playing football together again, it's a beautiful thing
That's why it's painful for some of them to quit the team easily
They are so emotionally attached to each other, but there's time for everything.
We love Ebi,we wish her the best........... she's gave her all for Nigerian football...........i remember watching her back then while I was in high school
She will remain our female football legend!
Onome should consider retiring from international football, as her contributions have been limited. With talented players emerging from Nigeria's grassroots, her spot could be better utilized. She should think about her post-football life, possibly learning coaching from Randy Waldrum, to leave a lasting legacy.
Ayo, Football science sometimes is difficult to explain even by most experienced and tactical manager. To me, I think that game against Brazilian women affected their overall performance in the tournament. And Ashely and Ayinde injury was not a good thing for the team.
On Onome been part of that team, that’s Football science that no one knows if that would have made a difference. It’s just like Victor Oshime said about Ahmed Musa that a lot of Nigerians don’t even know how much work and importance of Musa in national team now. Football is 95% brain and 5 % body. Would she have guided her team mates well. No one knows. That’s my take
Onome was definitely posting is actually a dig the countenance behind it is obvious
See, Nigerians are getting tired of Onome Ebi's every day rant and subtle dig on social media. At the end she expects Nigerians not to react.
Probably like Ayo said, she hasn't made enough money.
But I remembered after the world cup, Ngozi Okobi was saying on a live space that with the money the super falcons players made in the world cup, at least they can afford to retire. She might have made the statement knowing some of them are afraid to retire because of lack of money.
I don't just get it, but Onome should move on. I love how Smith spoke. If we're here talking about a 30 yrs old Ordega I will understand, but not Onome.

Why is onome ebi trying to over rate experience this is not about age what mata contributes to the brazilian team is more than just experience . She has served us well respect to her she is forever a legend but make she rest abeg
She will never tell me she dosent understand how sensitive her post was
She dimmed her legendary status by her selfish ambitions. She should rest now and stop playing victim
