There actually was a real guy who faked being a surgeon, and actually did surgery on people. Apparently he wasn’t half bad at it. His name was Ferdinand Waldo Demara, he also impersonated like 15 other professions, he would make for a good video
The writers know Simon so well that they can have a conversation with him in advance and in absentia.
I see all these lighthearted April Fools themed videos, but i'm like "Nah, I wanna know about the internet's first serial killer." Thanks for helping me make the right choices, Simon.
"Where's my yee-haw now?!" Clearly one of the greatest sentences ever uttered in the history of existence
I don't think I've ever laughed as hard at one of these episodes as I did the moment Simon said "Where's my yeehaw now?!"
By the time this channel is done, Simon will have trained 10,000 expert, uncatchable serial killers
Back when my dad was a school principal he had to deal with the Secret Service once. One of his teachers ran off copies of dollar bills of varying amounts to use as play money and teaching the students how money worked. Well, a kid took some home and then the house was involved in a drug bust and the money was found. My dad had to meet with these 2 guys in his office (his secretaries were very nervous about it) and while my dad found the situation rather funny, the 2 guys didn't. He went and found the teacher and she was all upset (he wasn't mad at her about it) and explained what she'd done. He had to have a school-wide teachers meeting and explain the situation and numerous teachers came forward, because that one teacher had given them the fake money as well. It's less to do with it being black and white copies and more to do with that she hadn't resized them or otherwise indicated that they were for play only. The whole thing got resolved and I think he had to make a note on the teacher's file, but it wasn't anything serious. He destroyed all but one of the fake bills and he brought it out at her retirement party to tell the story; it's one everyone got a good laugh about later after it was over. She was a sweet lady; tough but fair on her students and one of the few teachers to be able to properly work with the special needs students in her classroom.
I feel like security, alarm and lock companies and would make a killing (pun completely intended) if they advertised on the casual criminalist.
To piggy back on the housing issue: most people need two incomes to rent and live comfortably in the states. I also know friends who bought houses with their siblings or with their friends to create a blended household in order to afford a mortgage. It's definitely not better here lol
Simon's bit about OCD is breath of fresh air. As someone who suffers from OCD it's nice to hear someone describe it as something other then cleaning and contamination.

It’s hard to recommend your show to my friends. I do it, but every time I talk about loving the content they grow ever more suspicious that I am some morbid animal. I guess we all are though so we’ll just party in the comments, appreciating this fine writing and Simon’s ramblings 🍻
I was thinking even before Simon said it, “those chain type emails and posts are one of the worst things you can inflict on someone with OCD” because even though you logically know none of that is going to happen…what if it does?
I love that Simon has to play mental gymnastics with himself when he goes on his tangents. It is becoming my favorite part of each episode.
As a former schoolmate of Debbie Faith’s, thank you for covering this tragedy. I feel you were respectful to the victims, and I appreciate how thorough you were regarding the scope of the crimes committed.
I love your channel so much, it’s not the usual “I’m gonna read this dramatic thing and act all serious and mysterious” type of content. It’s great to have some personality and fun with it, the “ramblings” just remind me of having a good old chat with someone rather than being an audience member of a snooze fest lecture
I'm old enough to remember hearing about this guy and writing it off as a rumor.
Simon: "People are idiots."
Simon, I assure you no one in the US is buying houses for 70k either. Your article must have been written by someone wildly out of touch with modern salaries or housing costs.
