Many consider Dimash the most talented singer in the world. After this, many watch Sinful Passion and then Adagio, but anything he does will blow your mind. Range, talent, passion, technique, and not bad looking. He is the complete package.
Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin). He plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave 2 semi-tone range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Stranger" 2021,"Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) CZcams channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a megastar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to CZcams ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

I have been a singer all my life and even though I'm now 81, I've never seen or heard anyone close to his talent. When I was young I was very impressed by a woman singer from Peru, Yma Sumac who had a 5 octave range, but Dimash eclipses her in every way. Much love from the Philippines.

Carmen, great reaction and it is how all reactors and vocal coaches react to hearing Dimash for the first time ! Don't be surprised he has the absolute best technically male vocals in the world bar none ! He is a fabulous stage performer and he's so captivating and mesmerizing in his vocal delivery ! He has practiced and practiced since a very young age in classical vocals and uses a mix of Pop and Operatic vocals in his performances ! His concerts are mind blowing as are all his songs ! A lot of his music is composed solely for him now by Igor Krutoy the great Russian composer who came out of retirement to work with Dimash ! Sadly because of the political situation in Russia he has only done concerts in Russia and China ! Hopefully soon he will be able to travel worldwide to display his magnificent talents ! I would suggest his songs "Stanger " and "Ave Maria" that are the very best vocals you will find ! Both are visually beautiful to witness and his voice is in another realm that only he can achieve ! Hello. Dimash is an ethnic Kazakh. Kazakhs are a people traditionally engaged in animal husbandry and living in the steppes and deserts of Central Asia, on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea (in fact, this is the largest lake on Earth) and other Mongolia.
The Kazakhs belong to the Mongoloids, and are almost indistinguishable from the Mongols, but they are a separate people. In the Middle Ages, the Kazakhs were part of the lead detachment of all the Mongol troops that tormented all of Europe in the 13th century. I love first-time reactions to Dimash and how genuine you are with yours. Whatever you decide to listen to next would be okay because you can never be disappointed with his music. Yes, it is a French song. Dimash seems to get emotionally involved with every song he sings. There are several videos of Dimash singing S.O.S. I suggest starting with his appearance on the Chinese show "The Singer 2017", where he first caught worldwide attention. It is a talent show held in China for Chinese professional singers. Dimash was invited to participate and was a "dark horse". He was the first "foreigner" and the youngest ever to perform on this show. I suggested that you start with this because not only is he great but you can see how he progressed. He was 22 yrs. old at that time. He is from Kazakhstan, sings in 12 languages, speaks Kazak, of course, Russian, learning English and Mandarin. Most of his performances do have cc for Eng. subtitles. I can hardly wait to see you become amazed and mesmerized by Dimash's voice. Thank you so very much. Oh yeah, I would say that 95% of his videos are live performances.

His voice is sound of another reality
You can react to all Dimash's songs. Just because you are not a vocal coach, it's very important to us your true reaction. We don't need them to explain how he sings, we already know that. We just want to see how Dimash blows people's minds...and hearts...and souls. On the video there are subtitles... really meaningful and touching lyrics. Like most of Dimash's songs. You could try reacting to The meaning of eternity.
On your own time, you should watch this same video again with the closed captions turned on, so you can see the English lyrics simultaneous with him singing in French. It's one thing to look up the lyrics and just read them, but it's a totally different thing to hear how the artist is using his voice to convey the lyrics.
I did that after watching the video when I found out there were captions on it 😊
